  1. Don't forget that muscle and fat weigh the same...Muscle is more dense then fat....which is good all around....You are still releasing toxins in the fat as you go down and water and toxins interfere with weight loss... It will start coming off again..but at this time to give your body is taking a rest it needs and keep up the good work!
  2. G2 Gatorade! i mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water and drink it at least once a day...I experienced dehydration only once and felt horrible so even now after 10 months I still drink a 1/2 bottle every day.....It really keeps my skin from pinching and I don't worry about hydration.. I used to drink a lot of water and I mean a lot..Cannot drink that much anymore so I take that as a preoperative measure for dehydration.....I drink 3 30 oz bottles a day of water but that is nothing compared to what I used to drink.... your body rejects the water at first and you use the bathroom a lot but as your body gets used to it it uses the water and it hydrates your entire inner city...after all you are 99% water.....( I used to drink 3 or 4 liters a day ) This is that is in debate all the time..That's okay with me..i did what i did as my choice.....Do try the G2 every day though...K
  3. Wow that was great...had no idea they fired the stapler up...lol.......
  4. I was on a list for 4 years and the last 2 years I started to really research the WLS. When I was finally contacted and was encouraged to get the sleeve I started to really look into it...Spent so many hours looking at the good the bad and ugly of it and decided no matter what it was for me..Of course I was silly to think that it was going to be a piece of cake which it was not for me personally...I had 5 months of issues because of the surgery.. Would I do it all again..Yes I would..I am down 160 lbs. The number reels in my head...I have lost the exact weight I was when I married my husband..NOT proud to admit that but I know 100% that this was right for me...I was existing not living....I can't sit still now...I am on the run all the time...Can't even sit to long and watch a movie..I want to live, live and live make up for so long without my life....No matter your fears or what you experience you will rise to be the person you were inside and Celebrate you for the rest of your life......I know I am going to!!!!!
  5. They are Titanium and will stay in your body forever..This will not be an issue as your stomach heals around them..They are light and totally okay with your bodies makeup....Same thing planes are made of..lol...So we can fly too.....And we are in a sense....upward and forward in our new lives....
  6. If a person suffers from hypoglycemia... lack of protein can cause dizziness even fainting...Protein is the answer for someone who's blood sugar plummets due to hunger or stress or other real issues...most people head for sugar when this is their issue..but it is only a temporary high and then your blood sugar plummets again where protein stabilizes the blood sugar.....
  7. TOOOOOOOOOOOO early for that stuff...Your stomach is so fragile right now and you have to give it time to heal....It needs tender loving care! Save it for a couple of months down the road when your stomach acid is back doing its thing and can handle the spice....K
  8. Oh that seems like so much work for just some cottage cheese..You must be some dedicated sleever..lol buck up girl and eat the cottage cheese...Chew it until it is chunkiless and swallow.....lol... I ate a lot of cottage cheese in the beginning too..Haven't in a couple months now.....On to big and better things....
  9. If you pull the skin on your arm and it pinches and stays that way you are becoming dehydrated...This happened to me only once and my hubby ran out and got me G2 Gatorade and made me drink a bottle...In about an hour I felt much better.....Get the water into you...no excuses and make it a habit to drink G2 at least once a day...I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with water...10 months out and I still drink it every day for this reason.....K
  10. You look amazing....The flip side to a food addiction is to become addicted to something else, like how little you can eat...or how small you can become..Or my personal peeve..When people deny themselves things as if they were on a old failed diet....We suffer from food addiction and we have to be so careful not to turn the sleeve into another addiction....see how small we can become.....It is mind control...you have shown such strength with your tool...Don't lose the war by never being satisfied with who you are as a whole person..Push the not enough goal away and dress the beautiful person you have become and use your life like you dreamed you wanted to...Now is the time to enjoy your hard work and live life.......All the best
  11. My voice is deeper and I can no longer sing.....I hope that my voice will come back..But I had a trachea because of my extended coma....
  12. I had a food funeral before my surgery as well. I ate the things I knew I would never eat again especially in that amount... I am glad I did it..The last meal I had was curried meatballs and rice...my favorite! No regrets here...never lost any weight that 2 weeks but I did not care as I would have the rest of my life to lose weight.....
  13. Keep checking your temperature....when I had my leak my temperature soared to 104....Then I knew I was in trouble!
  14. try some G2 Gatorade and mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water and you will be able to keep hydrated that way.....k
  15. i too had a leak and went septic 4 days after my surgery...I was in the hospital for 5 months as they tried everything to repair the sleeve....I was a mess. I have had 11 surgeries altogether but at the end I have the by-pass and sleeve combination...When they taught me to eat again it was very difficult....they used ice cream to teach me how to move the food around in my mouth and get the feeling of food again...I had not eaten anything in 5 1/2 months up to that point.... When I did go home I took it easy on myself and ate soft food and very little at a time...I was petrified I would have another leak....10 months later I don't worry anymore...Just take it one step at a time and really listen to your sleeve and how you are feeling as you eat....You will know when enough is enough....k
  16. No not a good choice girl. One week out, your stitches can let loose very easily. You have to give your stomach the time it needs to heal....Your body cannot handle solids yet either because the acids that break the food down has not come back yet.... Please don't play with your sleeve and eat stuff that can harm you right now....We want you to succeed!! Lastly we don't want you to get a leak by stretching out your sleeve before it is healed....K
  17. You are right...You have read some of my story...Thank you for your kind words!!!
  18. I eat mine after lunch..I feel like I am eating 2 chocolates...Your right it is a mind game...lol
  19. Think healthy body....So glad things are moving along for you hun!!!! Soon you will be a loser like the rest of us!!!
  20. Congrats to you!!! I am celebrating myself tonight.....
  21. I can't believe it..10 months and I am down 160 lbs. I have 50 to go.....20 lbs to wonderland......yeah!!!!me
  22. Everything sounds right to me.....you had major surgery....500 calories a day will not let you lose weight....Your body goes into protecting itself against starving itself...That said...You cannot eat much more then you are at the moment..Your body has to catch up to what has happened and will respond once it figures out you are not starving to death... The body is an amazing machine which will compensate for almost anything we throw at it.....You are now geared to lose weight and you will.... My advice ....keep doing what you are doing and it will happen..Don't weigh yourself too much....Scales can really discourage you and your progress....K
  23. I found that water did not help either...but! I mix 1/2 and 1/2 G2 Gatorade together and leave that by my bed and it helps a lot..Try it!!!
  24. Congrats on being on the losers side of your journey....I have no butt at all..knew it was coming because I didn't when I was thin or when I was heavier... Nice work! Keep swimming!!!!
  25. I kept the original surgery a secret because I did not know the the outcome would be...I went septic and ended back in the hospital for 5 months...Very hard to keep people from asking questions when you are in that position.. I assumed it would be a hop skip and a jump like so many others and I would not have to answer any questions.... Even with the issues I had with recovery from the surgery only a couple people know the exact truth of the matter...Others have not seen me in quite a while so no one recognizes me at all..I can walk by people I have known for years and they don't see me at all.... I told only the people that I care about and even some of that has changed for me....I keep it my business.. The number one question when I was in the hospital for 5 months was not how is she doing? But, how much weight has she lost being so ill...People are just idiots sometimes and I don't need to hear their opinions on any of my personal business....
