  1. I'll I've been counting is protein & calories. I'm getting at least 60g protein & 400-600 calories. They wanted me to get 800-1000 calories but I can't do that yet. :-)
  2. I didn't have either but I've read where others have had drains in. I think it depends on the doctor.
  3. The bad taste might be you going into ketosis if your not getting in any protein & calories. You've got to try some how to get them in. I love the premier protein vanilla shakes. Also, Campbells soups to go in the cup. I can't drink the plain water, it was making me sick so I have found unsweetened tea with a splash or cranberry from the Sonic is great for me. Now I'm getting my liquid in with them. Good luck.
  4. Mine was 21st also & I had a 1week check up & then I go back again foe a 1 mo. I thought most go back for a 1week check up to make sure everything is good.
  5. Had my first post op Dr visit today. All looks good. No pain, I've not taken any pain meds. Lost 8lbs. I'm advancing to pureed foods. Now to figure out what's for dinner. :-)
  6. That's not good on the Dr's part. You should be taking a multivitamin once a day, calcium citrate twice a day 600 each time, B12 , & iron if you still have a period. This is what my Dr told me.
  7. Try cream soups. I'm 5 days post op from bypass & I can have them. They fill me up better than just broth or protein shakes.
  8. I like the BARI-DELICIOUS Name.
  9. Had surgery on Tuesday. I was nervous but everything went fine. The worst part was the gas. I was never so happy to fart in my life. TMI I know. :-) that was the only time I hit the pain pump was with the gas pains. Finally the next day I walked the halls about 5 times vs the two after surgery and got that stuff to moving out. Went home around 5 that day & slept all night. Felt 100% better when I woke up. Today was my full liquid day which includes cream soup, tasted so good. However I'm so scared to overeat right now. All in all I've had a good recovery so far.
  10. I never knew cream soup could be so yummy & filling. :-) day 4. How was your surgery?
  11. My mother's family is from there. Mcspadden & franklin. I love it up there. :-)
  12. I'm from Etowah, it's between Chattanooga and knoxville, had my bypass done the 21st in Chattanooga with Dr. Rutledge. So far so good.
  13. I am right there with you Michelle! I have 7.5 hours until I have to be at the hospital. I am not nervous at all and don't feel like I will be, but...you never know! Good luck to you and all others who have surgery this week! How did your surgery go ?
  14. That can happen with surgery. Make sure your doing your breathing exercises the should have gave you.
  15. Surgery went good. Got home yesterday & slept all night. Finally got rid of the gas, thought I was gonna kill over with it. Ive not had any pain meds & I'm feeling good. Just trying to get my fluid in. How is everyone else doing?
  16. 9 hrs! Right now my nerves are fine just hope it stays that way. Prayers for a safe surgery please!
  17. Yes 2! But I only have a one day liquid which is today also. I never want to smell lemon again. I'll try that straw!
  18. Oh my! The taste! Lord help me drink this. I've got two bottles to get through. It's going to be a long day.
  19. If you have can you post before & after pics. My surgery is Tuesday & I need a little inspiration. I need to know it's possible to lose that much. Thanks!
  20. I'm voting with the "get another surgeon " crowd.
  21. My surgery is Tuesday also and my allergies /sinus crap is kicking my butt. I started to go to a walk in clinic today but decided I didn't know if should take antibiotics before surgery or not. I hate Spring !!!!!
  22. If you had Acid reflux with the band you are more likely than not to have it with the sleeve. This is what every surgeon should tell you.
  23. I looked it up & it's called "5 day pouch test" not 5/2 diet.
