My 600 lb Life: Whoa
Recently there has been several threads about this show...and I want to watch it as motivation... when I feel like I can't do it, I will watch and be remotivated...

carbohydrates
"back in the day" everyone was outside more... people did more manual labor, kids were outside playing/running...now, we have all become sedentary, sitting behind our computers etc; so that doesn't help our modern day world at all either!

I am so weird
I don't know how to add your comment to mine, MIJourney... I guess I should always keep a pair of BGP to remind me, huh ??? ... put them in a frame as "before" and a new pair for the"after"LOL ... maybe a thong!!! (yeah right, NOT!!!) but that would be a funny and GREAT reminder to me! food for thought is better than food for stomach!

My 600 pound life
wow, that's a shame, Moonlight...my Mom was similiar; my Dad had diabetes, but she still brought him whatever he wanted...the amount of butter that man consumed was UNBELIEVEABLE... we tried to talk with them; and there was no changing their behavior either...

I am so weird
so weird this topic came up...I just bought the correct size undies the other day, but still haven't purged the old ones...I think it's the same thing...throwing them out as opposed to recycling like the clothes...but this weekend they GO! promise!!!!

Bad Taste!
That can happen... I don't remember why, I'm sure someone on here will give you a suggestion; in the meantime, maybe a sugarfree drop/mint of some kind will help get rid of it... You can call your doctor and ask, I'm sure they will give you guidance... my doctors office was a godsend to me for a BUNCH of little questions...then I found this site and that has helped tremendously on my journey.

I'm New here
Welcome and congratulations...this is a wonderful tool, you (we) have to make it work for us; as you know, it's not a miracle cure, you still have to put forth an effort... I am at a stall, but I'm not gaining... I have head hunger, and try to ignore it, or I drink something hot (decaf tea, unjury chicken broth) and that seems to help get over it... good luck to you; we are all "in it to win it"... !!!

my 600 pound life-pennys story
It's on again next week...I think Tuesday or Wednesday on TLC... I am going to tape it and watch it whenever I need motivation...that is NOT going to be me!!!
-
My 600 pound life
I don't know how to respond to someone individually or add their comments to mine; however, the show about Penney is on again next week on TLC for those of you that want to see it... I have it set up to tape ALL of them on my dvr now... I was not aware that this is what that was... like I said previously...when I'm feeling sorry for myself (ie now on a stall) I can watch that and get inspired by what NOT to do...

Hair loss. Canvassing for Dates when it started/finished
I honestly can't give you time frames...it seems like the hair was falling out just after surgery... I probably noticed it a few weeks after...and then started taking Biotin...don't know if that helped, or it has just been over time; but my hair is back to normal and been that way for quite awhile... sorry that I can't be more specific

Feeling mixed emotions.
JerseyGirl...I am having the worse time finding the right temp for the unjury...I think I'm making the water too hot...what do you do? Thanks

GIRLS ONLY
I was going to ask the same thing about a "squatty potty"!!! With what's going on "down south" I now understand about HooHa rejuvenation surgery! LOL... everything is heading south...but it's sooooo worth it... I am the GREAT COTTAGE cheese WOMAN!!!! Hear Me ROAR!!! LOL edit: I googled squatty potty...looks like basically, you are adding a footstool to your toilet...hmmm....

Hair loss. Canvassing for Dates when it started/finished
mine was coming out in CLUMPS (good thing I use a hair strainer on my drain, or the plumber would be there every other day!!!) from the beginning... I have very thick hair, so it was no real problem for me. I started using and still use Biotin, my hair is back to it's normal loss ratio and no changes to it's texture/etc., that I have noticed.

My 600 pound life
WOW, thank you all for the information... this sounds like a "must see" for people with WLS to be aware of the pitfalls as well as the successes... on one hand the series was sounding so depressing; so glad they have some positive results on there too!!! I hate reality shows, people are so mean to each other; but this one sounds like something that would be good to watch to keep myself in check!! Thanks!

How long did it take you to decide to have surgery
for me, I probably had it lurking in the back of my mind for quite some time... my sister had a full gastric done over 10 years ago (would have had a sleeve if that was available to her)... I have RA, so my weight was ballooning out of control because I could barely move; this surgery has helped me immensely; but you have to find what and when is right for you... I wish I had done it sooner... good luck to you!

Newbie
Welcome and congratulations on starting your journey...

My 600 pound life
My husband found the one on Penney and is taping it...but is this some kind of series? Seems like someone decided to do "reality" on WLS...but where are all the PRO people...the people that did what they were told and blossomed??? Not as big of a story, huh?

Questions - Sleeve 2/10/13
everything I have read and heard (and experienced through other people) about the band has not been favorable. I did my research and the sleeve was the best option for me. Even at one of the classes I went to, the instructor had RnY done(10 years ago) and said, if she could do it all over again, she would choose the sleeve; also another one said that if you have 100 pounds or more to lose the band is not for you... I didn't like the idea of it anyway... I've had minimal problems with the sleeve, loving who I am these days!
-
New :)
good luck on your journey... seems you are headed toward the "light"
-
Trying to kid myself out of having the surgery
the sleeve is a "tool"...in essence, you still have to lose the weight "on your own"... eating properly and exersize is still important...but it will be easier with the surgery. I had RA, so I couldn't move and my weight escalated; now I can walk without my cane/walker if it's not a LONG walk .... IMO, I would not have changed a thing, except to have done it sooner. It's all up to you

I can see the light!
the waiting is the hardest part...glad you are seeing your light...and soon you will be "lighter" lol
