  1. That's my birthday ... so I should do this too! I'll follow this link
  2. I take 2 pills per day, and I took them right after the surgery... depending on the type, the dr may have you smash them up... mine were small, so no problem... good luck...talk to your doctor!
  3. Did you call them or did they call you? Because of the type of specialty surgery, even if they are not a usual hospital, it can be approved... the doctors office should contact the insurance company and find out what's up... good luck!
  4. that's awesome...so glad that is being reduced...my doctor told me calcium citrate instead of carbonate, said it goes into the system better... after surgery you will probably will be reduced again! congrats, I know you were hoping that would happen!!!
  5. I may have done some shoveling of candy or ice cream into my mouth...but in general...no, I too, was SOOOO ready to be done with this and have had a good journey even tho things have slowed down... it's all good, I know I'm making good choices and I'll get there! Good luck to you!
  6. The journey is SO worth it! But any surgery is scary, especially if you have to go out of town for it! but we are here for you... it is a lifestyle change as well as a tool...but I don't regret a moment! So nice to function like a "human being" again!!! Good luck!
  7. Great job...congrats!!!! Crossing my legs was a HUGE NSV for me !!!
  8. it didn't give me that option either...what scar cream do you recommend?
  9. It is probably gas...he needs to walk around to help relieve it...if it's bad, call the doctor to be sure... good luck!
  10. submitted mine... we shall see ...thank you for the info!
  11. Holy Protein, Batman, that's incredible!!!! Congrats!
  12. I too, was a Diet Coke-aholic...could not pass a drive thru without getting one...never drank coffee, so that was my "go to" beverage...I remember emailing my therapist that I just consumed my last diet coke in September 2012 and have not looked back... It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but not both my husband and I steer clear of carbonated beverages... he has benefited greatly from the change of lifestyle! Good luck, you can DO THIS!
  13. panko is lower in carbs...but with an egg, you don't really need the crumbs... speaking of which, on Rachael yesterday they made a pizza dough with cauliflower and eggs!!! HELLO KITTY!!! YEAH!!! On my list of "try me's"
  14. FINALLY FOUND THE BUTTON!!!! Thanks!!! Learning day by day I may try a bottle, just to see, but I tried a bariatric powdery chewable Vitamin right after surgery and hated trying to get them down...thanks again!
  15. I don't know how to put in what you said into my "box", Bufflehead...however, are they are powder chewable or more of a gummy? I hate powder chewables...thanks...
  16. Been reading that many use probiotics for their constipation...was looking on the CVS website and there are TONS... I know I need to look at carbs and such; that's why I'm asking for help here...what are the recommendations? I NEED HELP!!! Thanks
  17. I agree...no carbonation...nope, nadda, walking usually helps relieve gas pressure, but... Call your doctor!
  18. how often are you weighing yourself? If you are doing it everyday-STOP! Once a week is more than enough or you will drive yourself crazy (we've all been there)... as you know the same day and time every week gives you a better reading... just relax and follow your plan, you should be fine
  19. Thanks, I'll be looking forward to that
  20. I never drank coffee, only tea...but my understanding is that coffee is a diuretic, so not good; then the caffeine could be an appetite stimulus, so not good; but most doctors let you have decaf after "x" amount of time and usually want you to limit it to one a day... best thing is to ask your doctor or NUT about their opinions on the matter. For me, giving up my Diet Coke was the nightmare... no carbonated beverages since I started this journey...and I don't miss it at all! :)
  21. "it is worth it" "you can do this" being nervous is normal....the liquid diet was no problem for me; some people struggle the first few days because your body is detoxing... but we are here for you! Good luck! It's the BEST thing I ever did for ME!
  22. you painted such a vivid picture, I could SEE that big plate of fries, and it made me nauseous ... I guess I'm not going to get them either!
  23. My husband is "Mr. PMA"... and he finds that to be so true...and is working with me on developing my PMA...kind of hard when you hate your job; so going to it every day is a CHORE (can't change jobs until we buy our house)... but other than that, LIFE IS GOOD
  24. Yes, it's normal, so be careful... your calories are minimal, you just had SURGERY, and you need to watch your water intake... always talk to your doctor about your concerns as well... Congrats and welcome!
