Bad Taste!

So I am on my 7th day of the pre op liquid diet and I been having this NASTY metallic taste in my mouth that I can not get to go away.. It is so....... nasty!

any one have this happen?

anyone know how to get rid of it?

That can happen... I don't remember why, I'm sure someone on here will give you a suggestion; in the meantime, maybe a sugarfree drop/mint of some kind will help get rid of it...

You can call your doctor and ask, I'm sure they will give you guidance... my doctors office was a godsend to me for a BUNCH of little questions...then I found this site and that has helped tremendously on my journey.

The good news is, it means you are losing weight. It is from a process called ketosis. It means your body is burning fat.

Erp, does it always happen? I am losing but have no bad taste..

It doesn't always happen, it happened to me early on after surgery but went away after a couple of weeks and of course I was still losing weight after the bad taste stopped. Pre-op it is definitely ketosis, immediately post op it can also be a side effect of anesthesia.
