Mastiff_mama got a reaction from Takingcontrol in slow losers discouraged?
I stopped coming to this forum because I am losing soooo much slower than people on here. I am 50 and post menopausal, so I knew it would be slow and I am not hard core dieting. I eat what I want, just a lot less of it! Had several weeks if being really sick and have been inactive too, but today did some before and after pics... I has surgery 2 1/2 months ago.

You must lead a very lonely life then. Everyone - you included - has cause to lie at one time or another. NOTHING is EVER black or white. Right or wrong. To throw a blanket of disrespect on everyone who lies is throwing a blanket on yourself, too.
And, I am bewildered as to why it MATTERS so much to you what a total stranger chooses to share about their own journey in life. Not only, why do you care.... But, why are you getting so worked up about it??? Do you really want to be attacked by people who are SUPPOSED to be supportive of you? That's exactly what you are doing!
You don't know the struggles each person here faces on a daily basis. Your life is nothing like theirs. Anyone who believes it has to be 'their way or the highway' needs a reality check.

Mastiff_mama got a reaction from Sleeve Goddess in 48 Hours Post Op with food cravings (HELP)
I don't want to discourage, but cravings are super hard to get rid of! It's like in your stage, you want what you can't have! I was really hungry too. Here's what I did. I bought a whole chicken, an onion, carrots, celery and made some chicken broth by cooking it all together. Then I took the meat off one thigh, a small amount of the veggies and blended them really well and stirred them back into the broth. It made the broth soooo yummy! About 2 weeks post op I added a little instant potatoes until they were super runny and ate it with a fork so I only got what stayed on the tines. It saved me! PS... I added unflavored Protein Powder too!

    Hi Billy,
Glad to hear your back on track
    That's my biggest challenge!
Sugar is my downfall too, well I should say that and carbs like bread also. I have a little and I lose all control.

Well I'm finally getting back on track, I was stalled for almost 6 months, yea 6 months just hovering around 230 and not going any where. I needed to kick start again with either different diet or more exercise. Well I have had a hard time with sugar and carb intake and I'm a diabetic 2. I could not kick putting sugar in my coffee, Splenda tastes terrible in it. Well I decided to try the Atkins thing again like I tried several times before my operation with little success. Let me tell you, it is easier now. I don't know if it has to do with the operation but, after a week I do not have a appetite anymore, I think that sugar and heavy carbs was making me crave more. The weight is really melting off again. My exercise is still not that strenuous but I need some muscle tone so I'm gonna hit some weights. If your wondering what I can eat well I can eat a whole sandwich, whole burger, or whole hotdog and still have a tiny bit of room. I wish it were like weeks after the surgery when I could never finish a whole sandwich. Maybe my surgeon made my pouch a little bigger because I wasn't that heavy going in?? I don't know? I'm still taking the Vitamins and the Calcium supps and haven't seen a protien shake since right after the surgery. Im really itching to get to my goal of 199, I haven't seen that since probably 8th grade. Well I hope all is well with my VSG buddies. Take care. And I'll be back.

Then eat! LOL just kidding sort of, I've been hungry ever since surgery. I mean when my stomach is empty I know it! I am also hungrier more often. Some believe you won't be hungry after surgery, but it's not true for all of us. I am almost 8 weeks out and I get hungry everyday, but it's more at appropriate times. You'll find a little Protein will fill you up nicely and you'll get hungry faster when you eat carbs without protein, like a piece of fruit.< /p>

I have found when you say you're hungry on here you get criticized... I am hungrier than I was before surgery. I've had people tell me there's no way I can be hungry! It's just acid, you need a PPI, etc.. I am hungry more often. I wish I wasn't... I do feel I have to think about eating more than I used to. If i let the hunger go too long without eating I struggle to eat slow enough, because I feel ravenous! I will figure it out, but saddened to see others make accusations when we vent or tell our experience. I know I am in control, but I've been in control my entire life and have been morbidly obese most of it! You don't turn the Titanic around on dime... Some of are slower than others! I've not weighed what I was now in probably 25 years... That part is wonderful! The eating is still a struggle. So sad that not everyone can understand that, but not everyone can.

I don't have fibro, but ankylosing spondylitis....was worried about a flare and had just the opposite! In leas than 2 weeks my psoriasis has cleared and I've been on humira for a year! My neck and back have hardly hurt! I've been mostly pain free for almost 2 weeks! The surgery pain is Sooooo minimal too! I am 10 days out and feel completely normal! Like I've not had surgery!!!!! Amazing!

At 19 I would think you still have lots of elasticity in your skin still! As we get older and the longer we are heavy the elasticity is just not as good. If you've lost 75lbs and are not seeing lose skin that's awesome! Soooo jealous!
