JustSayMoe got a reaction from Ballermom in FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
283 this morning. I was 407 when my preoperative diet started. Sleeved on 2/14. I eat between 800 - 900 calories and get 80-100 grams of Protein in. Feeling great. No problems.

Your body can live a looooooooong time without anything EXCEPT WATER! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate is you first and foremost concern. Worry only about your Fluid intake at this point until your urine turns lighter. But don't wait too long. If you're having doubts contact your dr and insist you get IV fluids.

There are tons of options in terms of sugar-free syrups. Walmart usually carry these around the coffee and tea. I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard of people mixing small amounts of SF pudding mix in there. Of course once your doctor approves coffee you can get creative with mochas and fraps based on Protein Shakes.< /p>

Been there done that, got the t-shirt. I consumed a large amount of white sugar free chocolate one time. Then we went to mall that my wife and I had never been to before. Let's just say I had a maximum performance run to the bathroom. Luckily I made it just in time after running a long distance to get there.

I totally get your frustration. I kept gaining and losing those same 2 pounds for almost 2 weeks, too. Then I weighed myself today and suddenly I was down 9 pounds. It's so weird the way we lose!

I've only tried Stevia a few times both with the same opinion. It tasted like someone was trying to poison me! One of the products was Stevia in the raw. It had a rough metallic taste to it.
I don't have an issue with aspartame or splenda in reasonable doses, but I would prefer something a little more natural. Agave is good, but it still packs carbs and calories.
Are there any brands of stevia that doesn't have an aftertaste? Is the stuff from GNC better?

Sugar alcohols will do it, and not in a good way. That being said, I have a confession to make. A few years back while I still was still working, I used to keep a jar of jelly Beans on my desk. This one man that worked in the office was not only a jerk but pretty much cleaned out my jar each week. I enjoyed people helping them selves but most people would take a few but this guy would take huge handfuls and put some in his shirt pocket for later.I let him know one time that he was welcome to bring in a bag every once in a while to fill the kitty. He looked at me and said "why would I do that when you will do it?" Wrong thing to say to me.
Next day, I went and bought 3 bags of the sugarfree jelly belly Beans. It says on the bag not to eat more than a few because of the of the high content of sugar alcohols in them. He was all over them by 9am. I made sure I got up and left my desk area when I saw him coming.
The warning on the bag is true. That's all I'm saying.
To add to my delight, I let him know after the fact that those were sugarfree. He never ate another one of my jellybeans.

Funny story about prunes. When my daughter was about 3 she got a little constipated and the doctor told me to give her a few prunes. The bag of prunes said that a serving was 4, and she was little so I gave her 2. Well, she liked them so much she wanted more. So I gave her 2 more. Then she wanted more so I told her no.
A couple of days later she got up early. Went into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator (first time she had ever been able to open it herself), and got out the bag of prunes and sat down to watch TV. She ate about half a bag of prunes before I found her. It wasn't long before she knew why I wouldn't let her eat as many prunes as she wanted.

My appointment went well. He said I was slightly under the expected weight loss for 4 months, but I am not quite 4 months yet. The exercise guy didn't even recognize me, he walked right by me not realizing who I was I need to get moving now that I was ok'd by the cardiologist. There is a gym moving very close to my house, can't wait for them to open!

JustSayMoe reacted to M2G in how long post-op before a tummy tuck?
If you are still losing I would personally wait. I'm getting closer to 3 years post-op and *just* last month consulted a PS. I'm not sure that I will actually do anything w/regards to plastics, but I at least wanted to know my options and cost... $$,$$$
Once you have quit losing and are quite stable for a while is when most will suggest seeing a PS.

JustSayMoe got a reaction from Ms skinniness in If your a1c is too high?
Super high blood sugars day of surgery, maybe. High A1C, doubtful. The A1C is just an average for the last 3 months. If you hit the OR with a 400 blood sugar, there is a serious risk of ketoacidosis. You don't want to start at 400 and then have your surgery cause it to climb 600+. I saw a significant spike in blood sugar post op for a few weeks.

I would really doubt that they would delay it. You might be on a more restrictive pre-op to get down as much weight as possible. The A1C is a composite of weeks/months of glucose levels. So you current glucose level would be a more determining factor of your surgery risk. My A1C was 7.0 at the time of my surgery it is now 5.5. They did check my glucose about ever 4 hours when I was in the hospital and it was pretty high like 285, but it came down over time and now runs in the 85-90 range.

LOL! My wife laughs and says it looks like my butt crack goes all the way up to my neck when I sleep on my side. I felt around back there, and I'll be damned. It feels like I have one big, long crack!

The foaminess is one of the big downfalls of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury or nectar. The solution is simple though. Stir, don't shake. Just the opposite of Agent 007 and his martinis . :-)

You are probably hitting the absolute worst part of recovery right now. Get out and walk. It makes a world of difference. As far your stomach goes, it's probably very swollen and needs some time to heal. Try crystal light if Water is hard. Things will get better with everyday that passes.
