Ok so to give u an idea before surgery I was in a 22 top and a 22/24 bottom. I was never able to fit into regular women's size xxl. Well today I went shopping bc the clothes I am currently wearing r getting to big. I went to kohls and shopped in the regular woman department and bough an XL sweater and it fits! I also went to old navy and bought a couple of tops that were also XL! I am now down to a size 18 jean:). It just feels so good to be able to shop in a regular department store!

K so I was sleeved on 9/19 and had actually gained a little weight prior to surgery and started at 262. Yes I know probably not a good idea to gain weight before surgery but I wanted to make sure I ate stuff I knew i would not be able to eat for a while:) anyways I ended up with some complications first with an infection in my drain tract, then an issue with " white foamy vomit" as my surgeon calls it, and dehydration. I have been back to the hospital 3 times since surgery because of dehydration alone. I was also not able to eat any puréed foods. I was put on a puréed diet once I left the hospital. It ended up getting to the point to where I could not drink anything without throwing up. And for whatever reason I felt better ..out of the blue. No more nausea no pain nothing. I have been able to eat only a very tiny amount but at least I am able to get some foods in and my Fluid intake has improved. I am not anywhere near where I need to be but it has improved so much. I am hoping it gets better everyday from now. I am supposed to be moved to soft foods starting 10/15 so hopefully I will be able to tolerate it. My weight loss so far has amazed me but I am also sure part of it has to do with the fact that I have not had any foods and hardly any fluids but I went from 262 to 230 as of this morning. That is 32 lbs in2 weeks and 4 days. Just feeling better and wanted everyone to know

So I had the drain tube removed and when she removed the stitch it did hurt some, more like a sting, but when she pulled that drainage tube out it felt so unnatural!!! Lol. She kept asking me if it tickled! Tickle is NOT the word I would have used. I'm just glad it's out bc I do feel better now.

Ok so my surgery was scheduled for 09/21 which is this friday. I get a call just a few mins ago and was told that my surgeon will not be able to do it on Friday because something came up and he will not be in town on friday so they asked if I can move my surgery up to 09/19 which is wednesday. Now my anxiety level has gone up a few notches.

Absolutely!! I have looked on some of the other threads and found out that everyone was having surgery on every day in September EXCEPT for Sept 21st lol I think it will help having 2 others having surgery the same day as me.

I guess this is more of a vent or rant or whatever but the closer I get to my actual surgery the more I get the fear of failure. I know of 2 people personally who have been sleeved and are at least 6 months out and one of them actually gained weight and the other 40lbs and then started to gain again. One of these women exercise daily and eats properly yet she is gaining again. I know failure is usually due to wrong diet or not exercising but what if I do all of that and it doesnt work?? I have done my research and know the success rate is very high for sleeve and I try to stay as positive as much as I can but I still get that fear in the back on my head that I will be one of those who fail. I have an amazing husband who is supporting me throughout this whole process but he is the only support I have outside of this site. I have several friends however they have already expressed their opinion about wls on others who have had it and its not good so I have decided its none of their business so I am not telling them. I have another friend who had the full gastric (roux en y) and 1 month out she is eating cheese burgers and fries for lunch so she is not the support that I need thru this because she just ruined the tool that was given to her by the surgeon. I know this is the right thing for me for to do for myself and i plan on going thru with it but just afraid it wont work. I have been overweight my entire life and EVERYTHING that I tried did not work and I know this is true with all of you otherwise you would not have decided on surgery. Sorry again just a nagging thought in my head I had to get out.

No pre-op diet required which I would have thought he would want me on for at least 2 day prior. I know a lot of people are on liquid diets for about 2 weeks. I think I am going to do one anyways.

I received my paperwork and it said like 2 hours for test and about 1 1/2 hour with the doctor. I dont like test anyways because I think way to much into things so if there was a question " would you like to be a race car driver" I would sit there and think long and hard about it..."It might be fun! i mean I could do it and I would be awesome so yes? I would like to be a race car driver??" lol
I agree though..i dont understand why its required only becuase obesity hits every type of person a little nuts or not.
