  1. Yeah I know. It is small, I think the plastic just freaks me out. Lol
  2. Thank you so much! I feel better about it now. I can't get a hold of the office, so I turned to you all for help. Thanks again!
  3. Even the capsule ones with plastic? Just checking
  4. At what point is it safe to swallow a pill capsule in full without breaking it open? I am 13 months out and have a sinus infection. I was given amoxicillin capsules to treat it. Think it's OK to take the whole thing?
  5. I would wait until you aren't sore anymore. You wouldn't want to aggravate any muscles. I made that mistake and was miserable for weeks. Couldn't even bend over to tie my shoes.
  6. Thanks for all the responses! I'm just not sure what to take or how much. Or if should crush the pill or open it if It's a capsule. I think my doctor mentioned something about not taking controlled release medicines. Some of the stuff I have seen for acid reflux says "24 hour relief" so It's controlled release, right? I guess I'll just have to call him and ask more specific questions.

  16. I am two months out and have recently started having horrible acid reflux, especially when I sleep. I have woken up at night occasionally because of it hurting so bad. Anyone else experience that? What do you take for it? Right now, I've just had to eat some tums to help it.

  18. Thank you, tinka! I'm so worried about hair loss, because I have really good thick hair. I'm going to start the biotin as soon as I get out to the store to buy some!!
  19. Thank you everyone! I really appreciate all of the feedback! I contacted the nurse and she suggested going ahead and starting the milk of magnesia tonight. So, I just took a dose about thirty minutes ago. Hopefully, things will get to moving soon!! Lol
  20. Wow! I thought I was doing bad for not getting my Protein in! Thanks, now I feel much better lol. Now that swallowing is easier (first couple days home was very tough) I don't have any problem getting those liquids down, but I also really like Water. Ok, 8/9 days makes me feel more normal. I can't remember if the doc told me I could do milk of magnesia or not yet, I'll call the office tomorrow and ask if I can do that. Thanks!
  21. Today, I am 1 week out from surgery and feeling really good! I am down 22 pounds total. I lost 7 pounds pre op and have lost 15 pounds post op! Down from 258 to 236 this morning. I'm able to drink a lot easier now and getting in all of my liquids. But the Protein is tough. Everything tastes so bad! But I'm getting in about 40-45 grams now. First follow-up appointment is Thursday. Hoping that once I move to full liquids, it will be much easier to meet the 60-80. I still have a little bit of soreness around my largest incision. But it is tremendously better than it was just a few days ago. I can sleep on my right side somewhat, so I think that's pretty good! Still haven't "went to the bathroom" yet lol. So weird to me because pre op I was very regular... when did you all have your first "number 2"??? Thanks!
  22. It's really hard for me to swallow as well. Glad to hear you have to same experiences. Kinda hurts my belly and also really feel the pressure in my chest. So I'm just trying to sip as little as I can. But that makes drinking something small take a long time.

  24. Yay!!! So glad to hear you are doing well! My surgery went well yesterday, too!! The hardest thing for me is getting in and out of bed. My tummy is very sore, but mostly it's my right side. Keep us posted!
  25. Everything went very well! Anesthesiologist had a little trouble getting my iv's in at first, so I had to get stook with needles a few times. My arms are sore from that. As of right now, I don't feel the gas pain everyone talks about. I got up and walked two times yesterday evening and had no problems with walking. Hardest part of that is getting in and out of bed because my stomach is so sore. My throat hurts some from the tubes they put down your throat, but it's a bearable soreness. I'll continue to keep every one posted! And feel free to ask anything you think of!! Thanks for thinking of me!!
