I was sleeved 9/26, I have lost 35 pounds and just started feeling really good. Dancing around good. It started about a week ago. I hate to admit that I had been so weak and tired in the weeks before surgery that my apartment had gotten to the state of chaos. I was too tired to do much laundry, housecleaning or cooking. I was not able to stand for more than a few minutes and then would have to sit down. Sometimes I took a barstool into the kitchen so I could do the dishes.
I have finally reached the point that I can walk about a mile with only one break of about 5 minutes. I can walk all the way to Walmart buy something and then sit outside at some picnic tables they have setup out front. And all this in less than 45 minutes. I haven't really timed it but my boyfriend said maybe 45 minutes.
And today I noticed that my knees didn't hurt when I went down the stairs. I've been able to get up the stairs for a while without pain. Now I have lost enough that I can go down the stairs too.
I am starting to feel my bones through my fat now. And I can jump off the couch and run in and do housework between commercials when I'm watching TV.

for those that are stalled, think about how many grams of Protein we consume a day. the doc really opened my eyes today, he claimed not enough protien= not enough metabolism!

Hard as it is to get the fluids in, I'm going try for the 100oz. It's definitely worth a shot.

When I talked to my Dr about my stalls they told me that just bumping up Fluid intake to 100oz helps most people come out of stalls. Has worked for me twice.

This is worth repeating... I had read preop about a heating pad. I didn't take mine because I had read the hospital has them. So I did ask for one in the hospital but it took a little bit because the nurse had to put in an order for it. But let me tell you, it should be standard for everyone!! I used it most of the 3 days and it made me sooo much more comfortable!! Then any time at home when I felt uncomfortable, only a few days, I used it and it just made me feel better. I highly recommend the heating pad as a staple for at least the first week of recovery!! It saved me!!!

I stayed away from coffee for two months post op. I now drink it daily. I have changed so many things for the better witht this surgery, but coffee is the one thing I'm not willing to give up. I love it! I do drink extra Water to balance the dehydration factor.

I feel the same way, losingitforgood. Couldn't live without Protonix! I am to be on it for 2 months post op but was telling someone today that I want to stay on it forever. Don't know if its the Protonix or the hernia removal (with sleeve) that has made the difference. Don't like being on meds but will miss Protonix.

How about you just tell them you had weight loss surgery? You don't have to provide specifics, just tell them how good you feel. Focus on how wonderful you are feeling, and remember to smile. Just my opinion.
Before I had the surgery I told very few people only because I didn't want to field questions. When I return to work I plan to tell all who ask with the emphasis on being healthy. GOOD LUCK!

One little thing I would like to share... I went to the gym yesterday for the first time since surgery. Amazingly I really ENJOYED it. I used to go every once in a while because I knew it was good for me but never really enjoyed it. Felt good but didn't enjoy it. Now, its a whole different feeling. Hard to explain. My body actually is responding differently to exercise. Kinda like a new body. Very weird. Totally took me by surprise. Anyone else experience this??

Yes I had the surgery. I was being overly sarcastic.
Here's what else you can look forward to....
Not recognizing yourself in the mirror
    Others not recognizing you
Saving a fortune on fast food (I pretty much lived on the "drive thru window" diet)
    Buying smaller clothes
Throwing those out and buying even smaller clothes
Getting your wedding ring resized because its falling off
Tying your shoes without passing out from holding your breath
Seeing your hoo-hoo without a mirror
    Skinny sex
    More skinny sex
    Sitting in a restaurant booth
Having the room to wiggle around in chairs
Having to buy padded toilet seats because you lose your natural padding
Hearing the question "how did you lose the weight?" 5 million times
Being able to wear "one size fits all" garments
    Did I mention skinny sex?
