I put this off a year ago. Got a Tummy Tuck and though I look ok, I'm still fat. I'm reconsidering this surgery and my bmi is 32. I am tired of the constant depression , the inadequacy. I am just done.

I'm a March sleever, going on Sunday and Monday is the big day!!!
I'm with Dr, Kelly. I have thoroughly been educated and encouraged through this site and so many of you, heartfelt thanks! If you are a prayer warrior PLEASE add me to your list that it runs smoothly. My foster children in particular are very young and I know they are worried even though I'll only be there for a week. Two of them can be a challenge so please pray for safety and an obedient spirit. Thanks so much!

God!! My hubby can kiss my ass too! I just got home yesterday and all i wanted was a hug...he said he was mad cuz we didnt discuss this first?? Um there's nothing to discuss i wanted the surgery i paid for the surgery and had the surgery...
Bam b***h. Now today im a big cry baby freaking out crying because my spoon is to big and hes feeding me my broth. I would really like some pain meds but not sure what to take

By the way... My husband can kiss my ass any day of the week because if there is one thing he can't control is my hard earned money... I'm paying for my surgery with my own money I have been saving. Every time I saved before we had to use it for something for the house or family, not this time sorry. I save 5000 to do this and wether I do it or not he can't talk to me about money.
He has not been supportive in any freaking way
Not economically or emotionally so again... Kiss my ass, I can tell you this process has been real tough and disappointing. We on risking grounds as you can see lol. I have been re evaluating why we are together...If I can't have your financial, physical or emotional support why the hell are you around smh?
He's a great dad and person and all but this has brought things to light that i do not like and even if we can get past it... Is embedded in my soul.

Thank you so much for that I'm .im still not100 percent convinced and is all due to the complications and my family being a pain in the ass. But I wan to e skinny so bad!

I did a search and was unable to find this topic previously mentioned, so forgive me of there is an existing thread, but...
I'm trying to compile a list of things that aren't allowed post-op. And further, if they're not allowed forever or just until things heal.
Drinking out of a straw
Not allowed post-op. How far out before you can drink from a straw again?
Celery
I've heard some people say the fibers of celery can get "tangled in the staple line," but the staple line is outside the stomach. So, can anyone clarify this? And again, not allowed forever?
Citrus fruit
I've heard that the pith is too hard to digest after surgery. How long until you can eat pulp and pith?
I'll speak with my surgeon next time I see him, but I thought the lovely folks of VST might like to chime in. And feel free to add more items to the "not allowed" list!! =)

Here's the daily updated list. This is getting so confusing, with all the new people coming in and now people switching dates! Hope I got everyone. Someone might need to take over once I go in for my surgery on the 8th, if updates are still coming in at that time.

Congrats Jennifer! I am in Kissimmee and wanted to go with Dr. Kim but my insurance coverage through my employer excludes any type of WLS and I couldn't afford the $18K self-pay price tag. However, I am being sleeved in Cancun on March 8th - very excited! Looking forward to hearing about your journey...best of luck to you and your husband!

Complications leaks and or worse hospitalization. I'm afraid of how my little girl would handle the situation if I went through that. Also the head hunger

holy crap i cant beleive i found this !!!. I have decided to have ths procedure. i have a BMI of 34 5'4 204 pounds and when i went to an information session... people looked disguted with me!!! like i should have been kicked out or like i was mocking them. i felt horrible. i want to do this surgery because im tired of my struggle and i will not wait noarround for comorbidities to show up at my door. im going to do it and be skinny and happy for once with myself image. i only told my husband and unfortunately will not be albe to tell noone else not even my dear father because i know he will freak out. (this make me sad)



but im going to do this!!! november thanksgiving 2012. im still reaserching doctors in Mexico but unfortunately Alvarez is out of my price range, one down a few to go.... any sugestions?

sooo to feel better I got lipo... two years later and I'm back in the same place if not worse than the Lipo and wishing I would have follow my first instinct to have bariatric surgery.
I started doing all the research went through my insurance and everything only to find that my insurance ALSO HAD THAT DAMNNNNNNNNNNN clause which doesn’t cover bariatric surgery.
So I figured out if I self-paid for Lipo in Dominican Republic, I’m going to have to save up and do this on my own.
This time I didn’t tell anyone but my husband.
When I started researching Mexico, I decided I wanted Alvarez right off the bat and then..... I got his price and almost cried jajaja.
I knew I couldn’t afford him especially as I was going to have to pay this by myself with no one’s help.
Sooooo my second choice was Kelly and only because I had heard less of him than Alvarez.
Eventually I researched a few more and still came back to Kelly. I’m glad I did and I have set my date for February 25th 2013
I hope my experience is a good as everyone else that I have heard has had a positive outcome with him.
