Newly Banded in Williamsburg
Donna, I have a Heritage Sofftail Springer, it's big and heavy. A Road King is a very nice bike. If I were to buy a new bike, I think I'd get a Fat Boy, but I'm not really into the Harley scene much now. We built a new home on the water a few years ago, so my interest have changed to jet skis (much softer landing I might add), and boating. The Harley never came natural to me, it was always a lot of work and lots of anxiety when making sharp turns, especially "U" ies. Janine, the last time I got a fill I was on 24 hour liquids, or at least the rest of the day. As for over eating, it certainly is not good for the band and it defeats the purpose, NOT to say we haven't all done it at some point, especially when we find something new that will go down too easily...(like those chips and salsa). I read a thread on here a few days ago that has really made me think twice about over eating, a bander that lost her band and she had been banded in 2003, so we're all susceptible to over eating and losing our band. Point being, I want to focus more on doing what I can to keep my band, recognizing I'm full, and not just eating because I can, old-bad habits are easy to return. By the way, a tablespoon and be full....hahaha, NOT for me. As long as I eat slow, I can eat a bowl full of soup or chili. Then again, the other day, I couldn't keep down refried beans from Taco Bell, my band is quite finicky. As for what I eat....I don't eat bread and only a few types of crackers, the ones for dipping Sorry, don't want to lose my post, gotta run, Sears Tech is here Hugs!

:omg: Did I say that? OK, I went back an read my post, you gals get your mind out of the gutter right now! Although, he does like the way I coordinate my plastic wrap with my outfit....FYI, since I had a minor panic attack due to the needles during my first fill, he prescribed Lano something, a topical, that I put on b4 my fills. I have to cover it with plastic wrap to keep it from getting on my clothes Long story short, he gets a good laugh when I lift my shirt Welcome Diane, you're finally here :clap2: Supposed to be 91 here today, record breaker. Hugs all around.

I was self-pay, but my doctor included one year of fills, but at that time he was doing without flouro. I'm sure his "free" feels have gone by the wayside now.

OK, Ms Signgirl, where are you? You've been lurking, now get your butt in here ... :car: Everyone is looking forward to meeting you.

Janine, when you go for the fill, it will probably depend on how much weight you've lost, in what length of time. If you're losing steadily, then NP may not think you need a fill. But if you feel you do, then insist on a smidgen. The first year, since I was self-pay, my fills were included, but not anymore :car: Good luck !

Irrational Fears (phobias and the like)
Spider WEBS, yikes, everytime I walk through one, I can just feel a spider crawling on me for hours, and this time of year, we have those huge ones with the bright yellow stripes, I'm shivering thinking about it. What's in the Water and what's in the dark. My grandmother use to say, if you knew what was lurking in the water or in the darkness, you'd never go into either one!

Gina, don't know if the picture will show up or not, but I'll give it a try. I'll PM you with my phone number. As for stats, haven't really kept up with the fills, the only stat I keep up with is my size and how I feel, so... I feel GREAT, and I wear a 12 in some things, others a 14, as for tops, still got the big boobs, so it's usually a room XL or a 1X that hangs off the shoulders. The picture I'm going to attempt to attach, the top is too big now and sort of hangs. As for my weight, couldn't tell you, as long as the new size still fits, that's all that matters, the weight is just a number .

On my 4th port REPLACEMENT
Thanks for the thorough explanation, I'm sooo sooo sorry you've had to go through this. Yikes, every time I can eat too much I'll think of this, but in the same note, I do plan to make taking care of my band more of a conscious effort. Hugs and thanks again for sharing your story.

On my 4th port REPLACEMENT
MBZ, your story is my biggest fear with my band. It's a wake up call I need to cut out the bad choices and show more respect to my band. Did you EVER have any previous issues or did it just kind of happen over night? What were your symptoms?

OK, it's Saturday, where is everyone? Am I the only one sitting around, being a computer potato today? I'm just enjoying my home alone time, hubby's on a golf trip, woohoo.

Living with the band long-term---what now?
Very good advice Julie. It was an easy habit for me to break after banding, otherwise, I'd be spitting everywhere, LOL.

Coke drinking poll
Brenda, I've never heard it explained that way, but it does make sense, which is one of the reasons I haven't had a soda in almost three years, (tooting my own horn a little). Plus I remember all the things Coke products do, like cleaning acid off batteries, tenderizing meat, cleaning the toilet, just to name a few. Better off to stay away from the sodas.

WooHoo, side of page ads gone!
I'm glad they're gone too, the girl at the top reminds me of Rachael Ray, so I don't really mind her. With all the ads, I was beginning to think we'd been sold out, because it seems right after I've been to LBT, I get a lot more spam....gee Mr. Alex I hope you wouldn't do that to use

soooo hard....
Not what you're gonna wanna hear, but your body is probably dehydrated and is craving Fluid more than food. I've been where you are and and it will pass and the rewards will be worth this time of head games. Hugs

Whats the worst you've heard?
Means solid as a "brick" where I come from, which IMO, is a good thing, (as Martha would say).

Where is your port?
Right side, just above the waist, but my scar is in my waist line, I think it floated...just kidding.

Does anyone else have weird band related dreams or nightmares?
I've never had a dream about my band, but in my first couple of years, every time I flipped over or rolled around in the bed, I always wondered if I'd just ripped my tube from my port, LOL. It's still attached, so it must be sewn in pretty well...way to go Dr T.

Is hair loss a given?
Not me, but then I have very thick hair. IMO, lots of protein is the prevention of major hair loss. I've heard, (which may be mentioned in prev posts, didn't read them all), that any time you're put to sleep you lose a little hair.
