Mushy Foods.........
Just a funny memory..about 20 years ago my dh had an ostiodimy done (jaw broken to fix overbite) and was wired shut for 6 weeks. He had it done before the holidays. I remember Christmas he was caught squishing deviled eggs through any opening in his teeth he could find. His favorite mush food was Hardees sausage gravy, probably not on the doctors top 10 list. He would bring it home and have me blender it. Happy Holidays everyone!

Ah me. The (gasp) Holidays
Like DylansMom, I too am not only tired of being the largest person at the family gatherings, but it seems every social event I would attend I'm always the largest person there. And I am sooooo over being the biggest person that I haven't been to a social event in months. I haven't even been banded yet and I can't wait for my first trip to the beach house in the spring.... I'm gonna be right in the middle of every party I can attend!

Help please

I'm glad I told.
Once I have my band AND start to loose weight, I will be more inclined to share my journey with others, but until I start to loose weight and convince myself and know I can do it, only my family will know. I've had too many non loosing experiences (diets) so mums the word until the scales say I've lost...so....shhhhh everyone. Not to mention, if you're like me and self paying, heck yea, I want everyone to know I spent that kind of money on me, cause I'm worth it!

Need reassurance
My PCP is thrilled, she's tall and thin, obviously, weight has never been an issue. When I told her a year ago I was researching the adjustable band, she was very interested. Thursday when I went for my physical and told her I was going to be the 1st band for our area, she said after our last visit she went on line and researched and thought I was making a great decision! You guys know how much better than made me feel right! She told me not to worry about being the 1st that she had checked on the surgeon and everything would be fine....and for me to return in April just so she could see the new me. PS Fran, when you're done with all those hugs and well wishes, please send them my way, I'll be 4 days behind you.

Pictures Texas Overnighter
Betty, I've got the same Harley, only a different year. Would you agree this is a very very heavy bike? Everytime I sit mine up, I have to look around and make sure no one's around to hear me grunt when I sit it up, LOL. Mine is pearl white and blue. Everyone looks like they had a great time.... Texas is so far from VA..boohoo

Paying foreign Dr. to help Dr. Spivak
I will be my Doc's first Adj Band, (with proctor, Dr. Jeffrey Allen), and I didn't get a price break, $15,750.00 outta pocket, of course, that's hospital. doctor, and fills and follow up for a year. I wonder if that would be considered the same thing as a years warranty???? PS...Mamsi wouldn't even consider, #1 they don't have provisions for wls in their contracts and they consider the band experimental since it's reversible....FYI

I Love This Site!!!!
Yes Michelle, of course I remember you. You've answered my concerns many times, though not always directed to me, the information you've given to others has touched and consoled me as well. Everyone here has a unique personality. There are the Mom's in us that shine through, the girls next door, (you know who you are), the guys that keep us company and enlighten us with knowledge, not to mention poems and often humor. There are those who just cruise the sites, but we know you're there, the numbers show it, LOL. Most of all it's obvious we all CARE about each other. Thanks guys...I'll be counting on you to help me through Dec.

I Love This Site!!!!
Just wanted to say I feel like I've met most of you personally, everyone is so caring and it really shows when everyone shares their true feelings. I had signed up for some Yahoo Groups and OMG, talk about a lot of less than pleasant people. Not everyone mind you, but nothing like the comfort that goes on here. Thanks to my new friends and supporters.

NSV anyone?
I know when someone tells me what NSV stands for I'm gonna feel so stupid!

Negative stuff
Thanks goodness some encouraging words, the last few days it seems like there was a lot of negativity going on, plus health issues, like with the port and erosion, YIKES! Needless to say, I was starting to get very cold feet, but now I'm back on track with all the positive input...thanks for renewing my desire to be thin.

Boo Hoo - Appointment Canceled for one day
Since my band date is not until Dec 6, I'm eating enough for all of you, not really. Although I have not made the best choices, I have thought about the bites, the chewing. It's amazing even though no surgery yet, how concious you become of every bite...I'll go check on that fudge for you Betty.

Dr. Jeffrey W. Allen...Any patients here
Any patients of Dr. Allen here, he's the proctor to assist my doctor in my band surgery Dec 6, sure would like to know something about him. Thanks, Pat in VA

THE moment..
My moment was when I heard of the band and began a mission of learning everything I could about it and when it finally became available in my area, I was the FIRST in line and will be the first to be banded. Dec 6th I am so looking forward to NOT being the heaviest person at a social or family gathering. I have stopped attending socials because of those moments..soon though, I will be the topic of those socials.
