  1. I live in boston too. My husband was really against me having the surgery. It has not been easy but it's been almost 5 months and he is coming around. I haven't started shopping yet so I'm still kind of frumpy since my clothes are getting so big but he still makes comments like I thought you would be skinny by know and it doesn't look like it's working. It does get to me and I feel bad for a while but I just keep telling myself this is not about him it about me now. I loose at my own pace and he is feeling insecure about all the years of me being insecure and him being "the better looking one" and now the table has turned. I love him and am not trying to hurt him in any way just "trying" to not let it get to me and hope he will come around. I see it working he is doing so many things that he never did before around the house and with the kids so I feel it's a great thing that I'm not making a big deal about it. All these years of me being afraid that he would leave me because I was fat it turns out that he feels this way now and it was kind of a control issue before with him. The only thing I would say is don't play into it and it will get better. He "thinks" he is loosing control but it was only because we let them have it in the first place. It's about us now. I hope this makes sense I ramble sometimes.
  2. Thanks I am thinking about cutting it but as a big girl my hair was the only thing that I had going for me. It's a big step. I'm blonde/gray already so hopefully it won't be to noticable. But WOW I have hair all over the place. I can't believe I still have some on my head. My co-workers are even started to see longe blonde hairs in their office. I'm so embarressed but I'm the only blonde in the office they all know it's me. I saw my co-worker walking down the hallway yesterday after I left his office and there was like 4 long blonde hairs on behind he had on black pants I wanted to cry but I laughed it off. At least I'm getting skinny.....
  3. That's great can you tell us about your hair loss? I'll be 5 months soon and it's coming out I'm stressing. Did it come out and has it grown back. I've heard 4 - 6 months out is the worse I'm just hoping it will stop and grow back. I'm doing the whole biotin thing but I really just think it's part of the process no matter what we do it's going to happen.
  4. Wonderful I can't wait to be a year.
  5. Good luck I'm not Dominican but I've been married to one for 22years and we have 3 girls. Been many times I have a lot Dominican friends who have had surgery (Plastics lol) in DR. No problems. My daughter even had an accident while we were there and she had emergency surgery on her eye and she was fine the Dr. here at Mass eye and ear which is a famous hospital said they did an excelent job and saved her eye. No worries. I had my surgery in Boston and the scares are nothing (being fat is worse). The drain scare is the worst but it's not even bad. It's been four months and you can't even notice them. My husband is from Santo Domingo and my favorite place is Samana I make sure I visit there even if it's just one day every time I go. You will be fine. Keep us updated any question this is a great place to get answers.
  6. Walk as much as you can. Relax and remember it will go away and a couple of days you will be feeling like a new person. It does get better. Walk Walk Walk. Did I say walk. Congrats and welcome to the looser's bench.
  7. When I eat I get a pain on my Left side it does go away after about an hour after eating this has been going on for about a month. I'm 4 months out/. I started working out really hard lately and the last couple of nights I've woken up in the middle of the night soked in sweat. So soaked I have to wash up and change my PJ's. The pain is not to bad and my Dr. said as long as I don't have a fever I don't have to worry about a leak but I'm always worrried that I'm doing something wrong to my sleeve. I try to be very careful but it's a scary thing that we did to our stomach so I do wonder what's going on in there. Anyone else have this? My husband said he thought I had an accident in the bed it was so wet.
  8. I don't think you will be up to it. I would not have been. The next day is when you feel the gas. Just take it easy.
  9. It's amazing they can make this stuff into anything. This is spicy chicken (really tofu) with vegies. This may be old to some but it's all new to me. I always though no way would I eat that. It's really good. Now I can order chinese when everyone in the office does.
  10. Your doing great. I was 4months on the 5th. I'm down 41lb since surgery and 54lb since pre op. I feel like I'm loosing so slow too but whatever it's going down not up.
  11. I'll be for months on the 5th. we have almost the same numbers. I started at 242 but you are loosing faster than me. I'm at 206 now. I'm 5'6". I tried hard but the hair thing is happening. I do have a lot so hopefully I will be the only one to really notice.
  12. Almost 4 months out and the hair has started to fall out. I completely freaked out yesterday in the shower. The only good thing was I looked down and didn't see my belly I saw my FEET.. I hope this doesn't last long. I've been taking pics of my hair line since the begining I will put the new ones up as soon as I upload them.
  13. When I eat I get pain on my left side since Sunday and it's only when I eat. It goes away after about an hour of eating. I have not had any major issues since surgery but it's going on a couple of days and I'm getting a little worried. I have regular BM's and my Dr. said before that as long as I don't have a fever and my BM's are not black then I should worry about a leak. Well I am worried maybe I pushed it I had stewed pork on Sunday and it was very soft but I ate more than I every have since surgery. No carbs with it just the pork about 4 or 5 1oz peices.
