I'm a self pay. My surgery is with Dr. Kelly in Tijuana. So he thinks I'm gonna get killed there! It's August 23rd. Wish it was sooner, but I have to wait til the sow season at work. I work at an oral surgeons office in Metairie and summertime is busy season for wisdom teeth. My hubs and I have a stressed relationship anyway. We love each other. Hes my best friend. But he's a tight wad and I say, ya gotta live, too. So don't really know how much of his opinion is about money. I have just the amount I need in my 401 k so I'm using that. He won't help financially in any way. So...like I said...I think a lot of his negativity is because I'm spending money.

My husband is discouraging too. I will have mine in August. He won't come with me. He says it's not gonna work...and I'm gonna mess up my body and be in pain the rest of my life...but he refuses to educate himself. If anyone needs to not have complications, it's me...cause I'm married to Debbie downer!!

I don't want the bypass because I don't want to re-route my intestines. That kind of freaks me out!

I haven't had surgery yet, but have gotten a few products ready for PRE and post. I got the unjury chicken soup...I believe it's like broth. It has 23 grams protein. I also got isopure packs that u mix in water. They are colored but still clearish and they have 50 grams of protein!

I will be going alone to Tijuana and my family are afraid too... But I'm not. There is dangers in every major city. US or not. I live a few minutes from New Orleans, and there is A LOT of places we don't go!

That is one of the questions I asked my dr. I haven't been sleeved yet either...but my doctor said 2 weeks. I thought it would have been longer...but it's not food! Lol... So maybe he told me right?

The cost difference is because their money is worth less than ours, they don't charge triple and quadruple because of insurance bureaucracy...AND from what I'm reading, they are actually more experienced because they do more of them because their self pay is affordable.

Do you have the VST app downloaded to your phone? I can go find things that way. All I use is my phone. My computer is out of commission right now. When you click on that link on the email it's just to see the posts.

Because a lot of insurance doesn't cover this, and if a person does their research, then Mexico gives them hope. I would never be able to self pay here. But I'm going to Dr. Kelly in Mexico in August. I finally feel like I'm going to live again instead of just existing.

Yes, I'm still waiting for my date but I say quality over quantity. I wouldn't want to be 80 the way I am now. I would gladly give up 20 years and die at 60 to just LIVE! Instead of exist!

I wish I knew about these. I got the packets. Stupid me thought it would be like crystal light packets, but duh, it's not.
