  1. Since the sleeve is often the first part of a gastric bypass surgery when done in two parts for extremely high BMI, maybe you can remind him of that. A bypass can always be performed if the sleeve isn't a successful tool for you.
  2. My insurance is ridiculous! OVERALL!
  3. I believe with general anesthesia, they give you something to help reverse the affect, and that's how you wake up..
  4. This may be weird for me to say, but that's how I want to go! Only one general anesthesia surgery so far, and you are oblivious!

    Thanks, lloydthumper!

Sorry for the rant and vent. I'm good now!

You didn't sound conceited to me! I think he needs to get checked too. He's so excited its a mike an Ike! But like I said...it's my fault not his (NOT). He won't get checked. Talking is pointless because again, he's not the problem! I mean, if he was injured and could never again, I would be ok with that. But this? This is unacceptable! THIS is why people cheat! Because they need validation that they are ok, and it's NOT them!

Of course my feelings are hurt, and I feel like its all me. He's the type of person that thinks he's just fine and never the problem so I agree with the testosterone check. Tmi...I know!

My hubs doesn't want me now...says we've been together too long...so I doubt he'll want me IF my hormones go wacky (in a good way).
  10. Weight no longer...I don't know who your dr is but the one I'm going to, his preop depends a lot on BMI. So I do have two weeks. I think I'll just try cooking things I'm not crazy about!
  11. Poor girl...please keep us posted.
  12. August 23rd. I'm gonna start liquids August 1st though to give my liver an extra week...but yeah, really really dreading it! Maybe if I didn't have to cook every night, it wouldn't be such a doom of death feeling!
  13. I hope I will do as well! Dreading that part more than anything! You go girl! Prayers for your upcoming surgery!
  14. Since I will be having my surgery in Mexico, and the only support group I have is uneducated regarding wls family, and this awesome forum...I contacted my local hospital that meets the 4th Monday of the month. I think this will be good. Kind of hoping I'm not the only out of country sleever (to be) though!
  15. That's ridiculous (the charge). Hope to meet people in person once I'm sleeved. I need to check into west Jeff's support group.
  16. I'm to have my surgery with Dr. Kelly in August and I was told to go on liquid diet two weeks prior and last 3 days clears. I think it's because I have a higher BMI. I will be doing 3 weeks instead of two, and watching things closer in the meantime.
  17. Unfortunately, I'm right there with you for the same reason! I'm August 23
  18. Probably. I have a bmi of 45 so I have to do 2 week liquid only diet. My surgery is august 23rd so I'm going to start on August 1st. My OCD is all about simple! But I am definitely going to be more careful about my choices until then. I already do probably 95% sugar free, and I'm not big on bread daily but love me some mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese! That's gotta go
  19. I wonder if the tummy ones help with abdominal blood clots like the leg ones do? Anyone have an educated answer??
  20. I'm so sorry to hear that but I know it will work out. I can honestly say I have been HORRIBLE with food since I set my date. It's like I am enjoying food even more cause I feel like its the "last dance" and, ya know...thank you for posting what happened. It was an eye opening wake up call for me. I was going to start my PRE-op liquid diet 1 week earlier than I was supposed to, but thanks to you, I am going to be vigilant with my choices and amounts prior to my PRE-op diet. Thanks again for reminding us yet to be sleeved, some of the things that can happen.
  21. I don't want my inlaws to know either. They are so judgmental against me. I only see them when I HAVE to. That being said, I haven't seen them since CHRISTMAS!!! I will see them tomorrow for my sons high school graduation, then surgery in August for me! Then hopefully I wont see them again until this Christmas. Hopefully at 4 months post op by them I can be down at LEAST 40...enough to notice! And no, even THEN I won't tell them. They never wanted to include me in their life or get to know me...I'm over it, and they didn't deserve a good me, they sure don't deserve a better me!!!
  22. I am so sorry you are feeling like this. I haven't been sleeved yet. I have 3 months to wait. I'm the black sheep of the inlaw family, so I know what that feels like. But, I know how it is to cry because of your self esteem. I know what it's like to not have friends or family that understand. It sux! I don't have any advice on eating or anything since I haven't had it done yet, but no matter what, just remember God doesn't make junk. We are all perfect in His way. We damage our bodies and dont take care of them, so He made people to help us. I'm sure someone else will respond to this with some useful advice, I just want you to hang in there and take care of yourself!
  23. My family, co workers and facebookers know. Everyone on my Facebook is MY family (no in laws) and a few closer friends. I have also told a few strangers in conversation (hence I accidentally met someone on this site inadvertently! Lol). However, I have ZERO intentions of telling ANY of my in laws. They don't care about me to begin with...cause I'm not their religion, I don't drink alcohol with them, I don't smoke, I don't party, cause I'm a BBW...so many reasons. I have only had 1 coworker say negative things...that it's not gonna work...she knows ppl that didn't change their habits, etc...she's the b!£€* of the office anyway, so...that's my story. I have 3 more months to wait.
