  1. La Madam recommended some Ricotta Cheese with Peanut Butter to me when I was in the mushy stage. My first reaction was YUCK! when I thought of it, but I went ahead and tried it out anyway. Let me just say I thought that I was in heaven! Very yummy and tasty treat that can be made with either creamy OR crunchy peanut butter. Best Wishes!
  2. Great info for ebay shopping T. I agree. I was just on there about 3 days ago looking at one for myself actually. Definately buy from someone who has a 99% or better feedback rating, and also please please please check the shipping price before you bid. They can be so sneaky about charging a sky high shipping price on there, and if you don't pay attention and bid before realizing that, then they've gotten you. (Because Ebay seriously frowns/doesn't usually allow bid retractions.) Also try to pay attention to the methods of payment they accept too. Some only accept PayPal, and others accept checks and money orders too. (If they do accept PayPal, make sure to understand which forms of PayPal they accept as well. There's a regular PayPal, and a credit card PayPal. Most sellers are pretty upfront about which one/ones they accept.) Hope this helps new ebayers. ~Kel
  3. No exercise for me at least until Monday. If I'm cleared by heart doc then I'll start out slowly on my recumbent bike again. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  4. Good luck Penni! I sure hope that everything turns out really well for you!
  5. Best wishes to you on your journey. I so hope that you can get the coverage that you need to have your lap band surgery done. I'll certainly be keeping my fingers crossed for you. ~Kelly P.S. I forgot to say, "Welcome to LBT too!"
  6. Awesome idea Paula! This is one that I need to begin taking myself. Thanks Dear!
  7. Don't feel guilty! You didn't lie, REALLY! I am the same way in that I'm always pretty forward about my band and that it has helped me lose my weight. BUT........ Should I ever run into the girls that I used to work with at the paper and they begin to ask me how I've done it, I will do exactly what you have done. I will politely smile and say, "I did it with lots of exercise and eating a whole lot less and a lot healthier foods." I don't feel that it's a lie, because you're telling them the truth, you're just not revealing the part about why you can't eat as much. And it's really none of their business either. As far as the other heavier lady, I would have felt bad for that too, but trust me, I know just as well as the next person how fast gossip goes around hair shops and the millions of other jobs out there as well. All I had to do was breathe when I worked at the paper and everyone would be rushing up to me with a gazillion questions and gossiping about me behind my back. So don't beat yourself up about that too badly either. I think that if it's meant to be, you'll see that lady out and about again somewhere and you'll have the chance to talk to her privately where gossipers won't know a thing about it. And then you'll feel glad inside and know that you did the right thing. And if not that lady, then maybe another one day. Smile, you're OK!

  16. Thanks for the warning Pat. I actually HATE that dressing, so I eat the salad with a Ranch dressing instead. It tastes wonderful that way!
  17. I'm sitting here eating tuna with dried cherries, vidalia onion, and sunflower kernels as we speak. YYYYYYUUUUUMMMMMMAAAAAAY!!!!
  18. P.S. I had 2 D&C's myself and neither one was painful. I think the only thing that was hurt was my pride. (had to have them due to miscarriages)
  19. I'm so glad that everything went well for you. I agree with marie, take advantage of the pampering.
  20. I don't eat out but maybe once per week now (as opposed to pretty much everyday pre-banding), but when I do, I try to make good choices. McDonalds - Their grilled chicken sandwich is out of this world and I find it to be VERY filling too. Wendys - Their small chili is very good and it fills me up. I also looooooooovvvvve their mandarin orange salad in the summertime too. It's very tasty. Burger King - The chicken whopped (grilled) is very tasty and filling. Their chicken salads are very good there too. Taco Bell - I love their beef supreme burritos. It's enough to fill me up without having to get anything else. KFC - Their grilled chicken twister is wonderful!!! Arby's - Roast beef and cheese sandwich is yummy and filling. If you go to a sit down restaurant, consider ordering seafood. It's lower in fat and calories, but satisfies the appetite just like other foods do. Just be sure to order any seafood either grilled, baked, or steamed. No deep fried fishes or shrimp!
  21. Mine is up and to the left of belly button. You are beautiful by the way Nicole!!!
  22. Congratulations! March 5th was my lil bro's birthday too! His #24 to be exact! So glad that you found the $10 too. What a double blessing to be a few sizes smaller plus find the green too!
  23. Best wishes to you! I was a ball of emotions and nerves going in that morning, but by the time I was in the OR I was just ready to get it done and over with. Once I got through the first week of healing, I was excited about life and ready to really begin living! Take care of yourself, and we'll all be here waiting to help and cheer you on when you return.
  24. I just bought some tuna steaks in the cans yesterday. I'll have to let you know what I think of them.
  25. To me it was VERY worth it. I was banded on Nov. 8th 2004 and I've lost 37 pounds to date. I started out in a size 30W pants, and am now almost able to fit into a size 26W. It was such a wonderful feeling when I could button those suckers and zip them up half way tonight in Walmart. I haven't fit in store bought clothes in years! I was a compulsive eater before, and would stuff myself with whatever tickled my fancy. I'd move from one thing right on to the next without batting an eye. My band gives me the control over how much I can eat without me even having to think about it. I just eat until it tells me I've had enough, and then I'm done. I can now eat a regular sized meal and not feel deprived. And I can eat slow enough to taste the food and enjoy it. I can't answer the question for you of whether or not you'll feel it's worth it, but I can say that yes, it's been more than worth it for me thus far. And I haven't even had a fill yet!!! Best wishes to you on deciding what is right for you. May the footing on your journey be steady and strong, and guided each step of the way with confidence.
