  1. My doctor is Dr. Kim in Dallas And thanks! Good luck to everyone that has surgery coming up
  2. Thank you! Good luck to you all as well
  3. I'm nervous but excited at the same time... I just want it to be done and over with. I have to be at forest park at 4:30 and will be sleeved at 6:30. Wish me luck!!!
  4. It went pretty well, I cheated twice though I dont think it was too big of a deal though, I ate a couple pistachios one time and then a couple bites of steak. Oops! At least it wasnt a cheeseburger lol. Good luck everyone!
  5. Just wondering if anyone will be joining me this Monday at forest park. I will be sleeved by Dr. Kim
  6. When I started my 6 month classes/weigh-ins, my BMI was exactly 40 and that's what I needed for my insurance to cover it. I don't know if yours is different, but when I asked the nurse if I wouldn't be approved if I lost weight, she said most insurances encourage you to lose weight, even if it goes below 40. I guess it just matters to them if you start out at 40+. Hope this helps!
  7. Hi, I'm still pre-op and will be sleeved this Monday. I'm so excited and I want to make the most of this experience! So my question is... When did you start exercising after getting your sleeve? And when did you go from light exercises to moderate/heavy workouts? Thanks!
  8. Good luck! I also will be having my surgery this Monday. I have to get there at 4:30 AM... So early! Hope everything goes well and I will see you on the losers bench! Lol
  9. Don't get discouraged, 14 pounds is a lot! Your body needs time to adjust, I mean, you just went through a major surgery. You won't always lose 12 pounds a week. Just be patient and you will get there... Good luck!
  10. Good luck!!! Youre lucky you didn't have to do a pre-op diet, it's making me miserable lol! I would definitely make my last meal a burger and fries, yummmm! Hope everything goes well tomorrow
  11. Im a little over a week into my pre op diet (will be on it for 2 weeks total) and am confused about what it actually does. Is it just to shrink your liver? Does the protein cause your liver to shrink? Also, I feel like I'm not losing as much as I should. I've only lost 4 pounds in a week and a day. Also, what would happen if your liver isn't small enough to do the surgery? Will they make you start all over again? Ahhh this pre op diet is making me worried!
  12. On Sunday night I started not feeling well and this morning I finally decided to go to the doctor and I have strep throat. My surgery is this Monday and was wondering if they will have to reschedule it? Or will I be fine as long as I'm well the day of surgery?
  13. Is it possible to have a leak 3 months out? What about 6 months or even a year post op? I'm still pre op and was just wondering. That seems so scary!
  14. I'm having my pre op tomorrow in Dallas, I don't know much about it, just that I need to show up Lol. What was it like and how did it go?
  15. What vitamins do you take daily? And what do you take them for? I'm still pre op but will be having surgery in a little over two weeks. My doctor hasnt given me any information about vitamins I should take after surgery so I thought I'd ask here also, when did you start taking vitamins post op?
  16. My surgeon requires you to quit at least a month before surgery. He also does a nicotine test at the last pre op appointment (2 weeks before surgery) and if you have been smoking, he will reschedule the surgery for later.
  17. Hi, quick question. Is smoking pot just as harmful to your body as cigarettes are right after surgery? Are you suppose to wait a little while or does it matter? I'm an occasionally pot smoker (like once or twice a month with friends) and was wondering!
  18. Ah I'm so worried about this! Lol, I'm starting my freshman year of college this fall and will be having surgery June 11, about 2 months before. So nervous!
  19. I'm 18 and will be sleeved June 11th, I know exactly what you mean! At least we are getting this opportunity at a younger age rather than many years from now.
  20. Thanks! It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be lol
  21. I'm having my egd in an hour and don't really know what expect. I stopped drinking and eating at midnight but I guess I'm just wondering if it's painful at all? And does the medication they give you make you kind of loopy for too long? How was your experience with the egd? Thanks!
  22. I think it's different for everyone. It just depends on your age, skin elasticity, the amount of weight you lose and how quickly you lose it. My dad had the sleeve 2 years ago and lost 115 pounds, he has a little loose skin on his arms and stomach, but nothing too noticeable.
  23. June 11th with Dr. Kim in Dallas
