  1. We had surgery in Mexico 10/04/04. We are both do great. Start your vitamins. They really help me. I was back to work in 2 days and have not stopped. I had to ad someything to the liquids to cause them to last a little longer. I was staying hungry. We when a bought a roasted chicken an deboned it an put it in a foodprocesser and added some pickles, cerlery and mayo. We ate on it for a week. That would have been 1 meal before. What a difference. We live close to you and Zoe. We are in Aurora a western Surb. Keep in touch.

Hi I would reccomend our doctor. Dr. Sanchez is in Monterrey MX. He is a great doc and has a great staff. We just had surgery Oct 4th and we are doing great. He also uses a very nice hospital. This is a web site we are working on about our process with the band. Dr. Sanchez Link is on it. My wife and I have lost 40lbs together in less than 2 weeks. http://www.arkwebshost.com/family/debmo/
  3. Thank for the encouragement. Deb is doing much better. The reflux is not bothering her. She is not able to handle anything to thick. I not have any problems. I did eat some soup call chicken tortilla. Big mistake the tortilla laid way to heavy.
  4. This was what I lived on for 3 days. We started full liquids today. Life does get better. We did go out for Eggdrop soup and it was so good. Warm liquids seems to agree with my wife much better than cold. Everything agrees with me.LOL.
  5. Deb's reflux is some better. We are doing 1week clear liquids 1 week full liquids and 2 weeks soft soft soft foods.
  6. That is not for one person. My wife lost 13lbs and I lost 20lbs. Lossing weight is easy when you don't eat (LOL) Clear Liquids are for the birds. I'm affraid some of our liquids were not that clear. We do like cream soups. Deb has trouble with some liquids. but I feel like I could eat a horse.
  7. Thanks for the advice. The vomiting has stop and the reflux is some better. Deb still has some reflux, but I think it is getting better.
  8. Deb and I had surgery Monday. I'm doing great, but deb has been very sick with reflux (hot water coming back up) and vomiting about 1-2 times a day. She is staying on clear liquids. She seems to be a little better today, but Friday was real bad. Dow
  9. We had surgery Monday and came home Wednesday. We Just began telling people today. I am glad we waited. I did not want people trying to talk us out of it.
  10. If you have the cash you get the surgery. LOL . The wait time was only 3 weeks for us and things went fast. Our insurance would not cover it so mexico was a good choice for us. We think we would save enough in resturants to pay for it. (you have to understand we ate out way to much). Make the choice that is right for you. God Bless
  11. We Just got home from Monterrey. It was 3 fast days. We got there 7pm sunday. I had surgery monday at 8AM and Deb was at 10AM. We both have done well. Deb is dealing with reflux. I am sore around the port. The Hospital and Doctor was great. I return back the work tonight. We have been walking alot to get ride of the gas and it seems to be working.
  12. We fly in the morning to have surgery. We still have not told anyone about the surgery. Don't wont to here how crazy we are. We are ready once home to be more open. Your post of encouragement has been a real blessing. In the morning I preach and we go strait to the airport after church. And we can't wait. We feel that this is our answer to prayer.

We have really sinned this week. Your name it we've eat it. 2 years LO Carb, but No Lo Carb this week. We have stop sodas and that is hard for me. I hate cyrstal light. SF koolaid is working out OK. Any last minute advise. Dow and Debbie
  14. Welcome aboard. Looking forward to hearing your success. My wife and I are being banded this monday in monterrey.
  15. Hi Veronica MY wife and I are being banded next monday. I agree that carbs increase your hunger. I have lost 85lbs on low carb and I always notice that I become much more hungry if I eat to many carbs. I still have a 100LBS to lose so I am hopeing lo carbs plus a reduction with the band on intake will do the trick. I also am wondering how to stay lo carb for the first several week.
  16. Is it normal to wait 3 months to get your first fill. I thought it was 6-8 weeks

  23. Hi This has been a long hard battle. 2 year ago both my wife and I were approved for Gastric By Pass Dow (385) Deb (300) Our Insurance change weeks before surgery and weight loss surgery was no longer paid for. We were afaid we were dieing high blood, sugar you know the story. We worked the low carb thing with al our might. In one year I lost 80lbs and Deb 50lbs, but after a year staying on the diet no more weight loss now a year later still dieting no more weight loss. 5lbs up and down. Health is some better, but still need to loss 100lbs each. We have been saving every dollar we can put together trying to saving for the by-pass. But now 2 years later the bypass is 9000.00 more than it was 2 years ago. Our Doctor saw the despair on our face when we meet to talk about the surgery. Now increasing faster than we can save. Our doctor ask if we had concidered The lap band. He said he knew other cash payers were going to Mexico. This put us on a new and hopeful track. After alot of research we desided to go to Monterrey to Dr. Sanchez. Both my wife and I will be banded on Oct 4th 04
  24. Hi I'm new to the board. My wife and I are going the first week of OCT to Monterrey Mexico for the Lap Band. Just wondering Where we can get follow-up care In west surbs of chicago. We are cash pay our Insurance is a joke. Pray for us we have lost over 100lbs on low carb, stopped lossing a year ago and have 100 each more to loss. We planned on have gastric by-pass but could not afford it. The lap band in mexico is our only affordable hope and thats still alot for two. Frank
