You'll find more than info, Katy. Here you will find a caring bunch of people more than willing to share a smile or a tear.

Welcome to the fold. Just look through all the posts and you'll get a wealth of information.

I was unsure what to do, RNY or band until I found this Forum. Here I got the input I needed to pick the right path for me.

Good luck!

Hi, Katey... I'm new here also! I went last Thursday for the lap-band consultation. I've registered with the doctors and have started the long journey toward insurance approval. I'm thoroughly convinced that this is what I need. I've been coming to this site for about 3 weeks now and I have found it to be very informative. I love reading everyone's ups and downs so I'll know what to expect. This is by far the best forum I've found yet on the subject of lap-band.

Good luck in your decision.

ps.... I'm also from TN.

I also wanted to extend my greetings to you both. Good luck and nice to meet you. You will find oodles of information at this site and lots of friendly people in all stages of band life. Teresa:)

Hi Katy and Litnbug, I see you're both from Tennessee. Best of luck to both of you on your Banding journey. Please research and get as much info. as you can. It will really help you before and after your banding. We're just plain old folks who happen to be lucky enough to be Bandsters.:)

Thanks in advance everyone for all your support in this endeavor. I never thought I'd have something in common with so many people. Isn't it funny how when you're so much overweight and have all these medical problems, you feel all alone in the world and then... .voila.... I found the lapbandtalk forum and it seems like everyone in the world has been right here in the same boat at one time or another. I'm looking forward to being a member of the family!

I think that's one of the things that has helped me the most. I thought I was struggling all alone, but I'm just one of many - with the same hopes and dreams.:)

Welcome to both of you!

More Tennesseans! Woooo Hooooo :)

Litn_bug - Let's seeee, Southeast Tennessee, are you seeing Dr. Rose by chance? I've checked out every bariatric surgeon in Tennessee and he's a good one.

I'm glad you found this board. I didn't visit until after my surgery. Actually, my husband found this board and told me about it, I made my first post while in Mexico the day after my surgery. It would have truly helped me if I would have known about it a few weeks prior to my surgery, there is a plethera of info here.

So pull up a chair and get comfy :D

Wecome Katy and Litn Bug!!! So glad you both found us. You'll find loads of valuable info here along with lots of laughs and new friends. Enjoy!

No, Tricia. I'm actually in the very southeast corner of TN near the GA line. I'm hoping to use Dr. Jaime Ponce in Dalton, GA. I've noticed on some of these boards that he also does the surgery in Tijuana. I'm basically waiting for my office visit to start the process. I have only gone to the seminar and have began gathering letters from all my doctors.

Tammy,

edistogirl2602 is also having her surgery with Dr. Ponce. I've heard good things about him, I don't think he does surgery in TJ, you may be thinking of dr. ponce de leon.

Good luck to you in getting the ball rolling. If you are like me, once I made the decision to get the lapband, there was no turning back, I became obsessed!

Welcome to LBT Katy! You have come to the right place for support and information on your journey to be banded!
