I posted this in the may sleevers forum and will here as well... .Going to dr. Ponce de leon in 18days.. .and so excited to begin my journey. I also made my first youtube video.. if you'd like to watch and give me any feedback *smiles* :0) Today i will already be getting in 70grams of Protein by drinking two slimfast's with protein... added in a scoop of the unflavored powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protein and it tastes really good.. my 7 year old saw me making it and wanted some too so i gave her a little bit she loved it so much she said that's not fair you get alot more than me.. so i made her a cup full.. she thinks it tastes like chocolate milk lol. So excited i have like 19days till surgery... over the last year i was beginning to wonder if it would happen at all. .and now to be down to only 19 days is soooooo exciting to me!!!!!! Has anyone started any preop diet yet? This is going to be mine.. two slimfasts with a good meal in between... i also need to use up the rest of my herbalife shake card.. we have a store here right by my work called blended for better health.. they have the best tasting shakes ever.. I'm very happy with the unjury so far can't taste a difference at all.. the small cup i made for my daughter i didn't put the unjury in.. and it tasted the same... I got the starter pack too so i will see what flavors i like or don't like so i can order the big containers of it. So anyways.. heading off to work this morning at the salon taking my shake with me and we'll see how fully or hungry i am.. hope you all have a great day... I finally made my first youtube video.. It's not a very long one.. i was just talking off the top of my head.. now i see why people write down the points they want to talk about.. hopefully they will be better.. i'm just excited to see myself get smaller and smaller on the screen. I will make my hubby take video of me when we go to Mexico and in the hospital... .. Are you all getting excited.. may is just around the corner!!!!!!!!!!!! yipeeeeeee!!! Holly

Hey janneth what a good idea i've been making notes of things to buy.. if you have a list going of suggestions do you mind passing it my way? I need to start one.. and being the great researcher you are i'm sure you have a great list started :-) Lynda.. Thanks so much for the advice.. it's so great to hear from someone's journey of the first year!!!

I have my unjury on it's way this week... went to the store and bought my sf Popsicles and jello.. i think i'm ready for my first month...............on thursday i'll be three weeks away... time to go to the store and get my slim fast.. i will be slim fasting it from there on out.. two times a day.. hope to lose some weight before surgery.. now if i could just get it out of my head on the weekends to stop having these .. one last time to eat this splurges.. ugg!!

May 3rd here with Dr. Ponce I just changed my time to 8:30 pm.. i get into san diego at 5:25 and can't beleive 3 hours later i will be laying on the surgery table..lol..I orginally was going to go the next day at 8 am.... but figure i might as well get it going first thing that way i will be in mexico longer for recovery.. i will have a million butterflies in my stomach that whole day.. i can't imagine...lol

I had to do my surgery on a friday so i could take the least amount of time off from work.. and then i have my son's graduation from high school coming on the 19th so i wanted to get it done sooner.. and i didn't know when i'd be getting my passports i sent them off on 3/16 and my hubby got his yesterday so mine should be coming soon too. I think i will tell trish to just schedule me for the 8:30 surgery at night then i will at least have more time to recover with more access to the doctor. It would be so much fun getting to meet you though lol but i understand :-)

Anyone going to be down there anytime from the 3rd - 7th? I'm trying to decide if i want to do my surgery after i get there and just get it done and over with or wait till 8 am in the morning. Decisions decisions decisions.... :-)

I too am going to see Dr. Jaime Ponce De Leon on May 4th and super excited about it. He is one of the leading surgeons in mexico glad i did my research and picked the right surgeon for me. Mostly glad this is all happening finally been wanting this done since january of 2011...watching a friend get smaller and smaller and seeing that it would be the best option for me.

Well sounds like he will be just fine we've slept worse places before.. i'm sure the hotel will be comfy. I feel great about my decision and feel like i've learned so much more about this surgeon i'm so happy with my decision to go with Dr. Ponce! Can't wait to be with you on the losers bench!!!

I've decided the same thing my surgery will be may 4th and i will be going home May 7th too bad i will miss seeing you. Hope your surgery goes well. I'm so excited i wish April will go by fast!

This is good to know.. my veins are so hard to find.. and i hate being poked many times. Sounds like it's better one on one attention which is great care.I will be bringing my husband did your aunt sleep okay on their cot? Nothing is going to be too comfy for my hubby he's tall but i hope he sleeps okay :-) Did you feel like everyone on the team from being picked up to being dropped back off to the airport knew what they were doing and on schedule?

Now that you've been post op longer.. how do you feel Dr. Ponce has been have you had to contact him about anything since surgery?

How did you surgery go? Can you tell us about your experience and how everything was?

I've actually decided to go ahead with Dr. Ponce I spoke with trish earlier today and i'm impressed that i get to take a video home of my surgery in case of any problems the docs will be able to see exactly what he did and He has many years of bariatric experience. It's such a tough decision to make to do all your research and come up with a decision that will best suit you the one you are most comfortable with. I would like to hear some of Dr. Ponce's patients as well.

It can be frustrating for everyone when this happens.. best thing to do is call him directly.

May 4th will be mine in Tijuana... i was originally with dr. kelly now going with dr. Garcia........ super excited May can't get here soon enough!!!

Okay i have been swayed over to Dr. Garcia.. I'm so tired of looking through posts and youtube's and making sure that this is the doctor for me, but i know i will be in good hands.. So May 4th with Dr. Garcia. It can't get here soon enough!!

No my surgery is going to be in mexico so all the more reason for better questioning. Those are great questions cissiesue.... anyone else kindly add to the list?

I have yet to actually interview the doctors i'm considering.. and i'm wanting to pull together a pretty good interview list so i can be as informed as possible. I Know some things may be more important than others but i think it would be nice to see what everyone is asking maybe there's something i haven't thought of.. so please list your questions here. THANKS!! Here's a few of mine: How long have you been performing the gastric sleeve surgery? What are your complication statistics? What happens if complications arise? How does that work with charges? What kind of Preop tests do you run? How many leak tests do you do? Have you had any issues with leaks and if so what were the circumstances? What is your post op care? What hospital do you operate out of? What kind of medicine do you use during the operation and afterwards? I'm sure i could think of a few more but i'm throwing this out here so far.

Thanks barbie.. i must've been up late on night lol.. I'm flip flopping who i want to go with now.. i was set on going with dr. kelly.. but i've been since thinking about going to dr. garcia or dr. ponce. I'm trying to make my mind up today... I wish they had a sticky on here for each doctor.. that would be so helpful to have information all in one spot. I'm having surgery on May 4th now i have to decide again who with.. :-)

I guess i thought i've seen a mario garcia as well..maybe that was something else.. okay.. good to know.. thanks!!

Are there two dr. garcia's in mexicot and if so .. which one is this thread talking about.. ??
