  1. I would appreciate that! Thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOO much ! Dawn
  2. I am 3 weeks post op and on the pureed stage - fun fun but better than liquids so can't complain Looking to see if anyone has purchased a good WLS recipe book that they would recommend? I saw a few on amazon but not sure which one to purchase. Some concerns are the recipes will not have enough Protein..... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks all
  3. GREAT NEWS!! Much success to you! Enjoy the ride ! Dawn
  4. YUMMO ! Thanks for suggestions! Will give them a try! Dawn
  5. Thanks SO much ! I love the Chobani but I was fearful of the sugar content so I bought the plain (yuck) and mix with 1/2 tsp of honey or 1/2 packet of splenda. Thanks again for responded! Dawn
  6. GREAT IDEAS !! Thanks for your reply ! Dawn
  7. I am almost 3 weeks post op and I am at a stall as well but I am contributing the stall to finally being on the pureed foods stage. I would not get discouraged but I feel your concern and share it with you. I will keep a watch on your post to see if we have any old sleevers that can squash our concerns..... All the best during your journey! Dawn
  8. HANG IN THERE! I promise you it does get better. I was sleeved on June 1st and the 2nd day was MY WORST! 3rd day wasn't too much better but 4th day it got much much better! Keep yourself hydrated and rest up. You will feel good in no time and look back on the day with no regrets! Stay positive! Feel better soon! Everyday gets better and better! Dawn
  9. I was sleeved on June 1st. All seems to be going ok. I have lost 20 lbs since on the liquid stage. Now that I hit pureed stage I haven't lost a pound... Should I be discouraged? I just hope I am not doing anything wrong. I feel like I have come a long way since surgery day. The day I was discharged from the hospital I had the chills and was so bloated I felt horrible but then 2 days later it was so much better. Now almost 3 weeks later, what a difference!! I can feel some of my clothes fit looser. I can see the weight loss in my face, fingers and feet. Not the best places to be noticeable but its a start!! Now, I do have strange red raised welts surrounding 3 of my incision sites that itch like CRAZY!! I saw it was pretty common in some sleevers. Maybe a reaction to the glue adhesive they used to cover the incision sites but it seems the rashes appeared after the glue was peeled off.....weird... I am looking for suggestions for the pureed food stage. My doc didn't give me much as far as suggestions. What can I have and what should I avoid? I try and start with oatmeal or cream of wheat with nonfat dried milk powder (which adds more protein), I add 1/2 packet of splenda and cinnamon. lunch I have had pureed chicken with little mayo & hot sauce and some V8 juice. I know the goal is Protein so that is what I am trying most to put in my mouth. I drink a good amount of Water and crystal light and I try and drink a 12oz Protein shake during the course of the day (60 grams of protein!) GNC wheybolic extreme chocolate is soooooo good! Would love to hear from anyone with ideas/suggestions. Also want to see if I am on the right track as far as weight loss... SO excited for my future - just want to stay on the right track. Thanks so much! Dawn
  10. Congratulations to you! I was also sleeved on June 1st! I am on pureed foods now and I seem to be having a hard time with what I should and shouldn't eat... I am down 21 lbs since surgery but haven't lost any weight in the past 5 days so I hope I am doing everything right. Good luck to you !
  11. I am 2 weeks post op and am finally feeling pretty good however I noticed bloating from right below my rib cage to the bottom of my belly button. When I came home from the hospital I was fine in this regard. My incisions didn't hurt at all and I only had discomfort from gas and pressure. Now it seems my stomach is so big and I am concerned because it hurts when i am sitting at work. Does anyone else have this ? I am thinking it is just swelling but why happening now 2 weeks later? Also, I just saw my surgeon this past Monday and he said I had a little bit of Fluid that he can feel but nothing to worry about. Could it be that the fluid increased and that is causing this? It is uncomfortable but if this too will pass I can get over it........... ANYONE out there had the same thing 2 weeks out? Thanks SOOO much! Dawn
  12. how did your surgery go?? Thinking of you!
  13. THANKS!!!!! How did ur surgery go? 6/6 right? I am 12 days post op.
  14. I was surprised to see this post as I am also 3 days post op & feeling similar things... I have my face, chest & arms feel hot & flushed but no fever. I stopped taking percacet the 1st day thinking it was that but still get it sometimes but not as bad I am very hungry even though I am drinking my fluids & Isopure Protein drinks. I do still have a lot of pressure & bad reflux so I feel like an acid reducer will help me alot. I had the sharp pains on the left but since much of my gas & pressure seems better - I think it was that. Walking helped me alot. hope you feel better - pls keep us posted on ur progress! dawn
  15. my surgery was 11am this morning & I left recovery @ 2:30. Doc said I did really well very routine... Have to admit I am concerned because i'm starving!.... This is upsetting me.....i haven't eaten since 8pm ystdy but I was hoping the hunger pain would not be present..... did anyone else have this post-op? my pain is ok (4 on the scale) but I got my period this morning so I have cramps to go along with my hurt belly but all is good. I am so excited for what is to come!!!! I truly am. I have no nauseous but I do feel gas coming on.... We will see. My throat was very sore when I first got to my room & my voice is very hoarse....I am super tired so I guess I should be resting while I can..... will post again later! hopefully I will wake up not hungry....is it normal & it is bothering me so much PrairieDawn
  16. Today is the day for me!!!!!! I have to be at the hospital by 9:30. I was still in shock when I called them yesterday to get my surgery time I thought they would say - you are not on our list for surgery....but they didn't so excited & a little nervous but mostly about the IV! How silly is that? It usually takes 3-4 times for anyone to stick me before they finally get it in. I have bad veins.... anyway - I will keep you all posted!! YEAH! I will be in Stratford, NJ with Dr. Balsama! Dawn Hopefully I will do my ticker soon...
  17. great hearing from NJ! today is surgery day! I have to be at the hospital by 9:30! can't believe it's here! I will keep you all posted. My surgeon is Dr. Balsama & I will also be at Kennedy Hosp in Stratford! Love their team! All the best for good health, more energy & skinny bods! Lol Dawn

  21. I'm also June 1st! I'll be thinking of you! Best of luck for an easy & painfree surgery :) PrairieDawn
  22. GLAD to hear you are good now! I am so worried about getting an iv because they always have so many problems trying for a sight. The least amount of times were 5!! When I told the nurse at my pre-admissions she told me to tell them when I arrive that I want the anesthesiolgist or their nurse to do it, not just the regular nursing staff. We will see. My surgery is 6/1 ! Hope you get better with each day!!!! PrairieDawn (Dawn)
  23. Looking for some WLS buddies in Southern NJ? Are you out there? Who is your surgeon? Love to hear from you! PrairieDawn (Dawn)
  24. Thanks guys!! I feel much better about my decision not to tell but I still can't help feeling like a liar and I am so ashamed but I know it is for the best. I can not afford to get let go. Can't wait to be on the LOSER bench!! YIP YIP !! PD
