  1. Erin, I'm sorry there's a problem, but glad you got to the hospital to have it diagnosed. Now maybe you can move forward with getting it fixed and healing both physically and emotionally. You deserve to be able to feel better, and enjoy your journey. We are here for you! Kelly
  2. That's awesome!!! So happy for you! Kelly
  3. Oh and Samantha, I forgot to mention that I am so happy your incision is fine!! Kelly
  4. Even though we dread telling people because their reactions can be negative, we usually feel relieved when it's out. No more stress from the big secret. I do understand the need for privacy though. It's like people feel entitled to know. But sometimes they're interested in the info for themselves or someone they love. Just always be confident and proud when you do decide to talk about it. It makes a difference. Kelly
  5. Congrats to your sucess!! Everyone is scared at some point in the decision to have this surgery. But I was more afraid of not having it as far as my health is concerned. It sounds like she has health problems that she could really benefit from this surgery. Just give her a little time to think about it, have her weigh the options, and do the research. I bet she'll come around. Good luck! Kelly
  6. I know that had to be scary, so glad you're recovering nicely now. I loved the jello shots idea, i hope i remember to do that if i have probs with meds. Congrats on being sleeved!! Kelly
  7. Hi and welcome!! Sounds like things are moving right along for you. You'll have a date soon I hope!! Kelly
  8. Very creative, what a great idea!
  9. Congrats!!! That's amazing.
  10. I have seen couples do this with no problem. Alot of hospitals are doing it outpatient or just 1-2 days. This procedure is done laparoscopic so you don't have very much down time. It would be good that you're both on the same food stages like pre-op and post-op liquids so you'd be eating the same things at the same time. But ask your dr also. Kelly
  11. Yayyyyyy. That's awesome!!!!!!!!!
  12. Sorry about your diagnoses of diabetes. I just found out about mine a yr ago. Mine significanrly improved just by going sugarfree lower carb. If and when I have bread ot pasta it's whole wheat. I've seen a lot of info that the sleeve will help put it into remission. I'm hoping for all of us, that it will! Kelly
  13. Try not to let it get to you. Your friend may think they are helping you. However as you said, she can't blame all her problems on a surgery if she's not being compliant with the dietary guidelines. I'd just say look, my procedure is not exactly like yours, there's no malabsorption, and I'm doing this, so please support me, or let's not discuss the subject any more. She'll realize you are confident in your decision and let it go eventually.
  14. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
  15. Wow, very motivating, good job!
  16. I agree with the food tracking. Computer and phone apps make this easy and believe it or not kinda fun for me. Yes, I'm easily entertained and have no life whatsoever, but I digress..... Myfitnesspal is a good one and works both on pc and iphone. I am not sure about other phones. But others said it had most foods in its database, and it's true. The best one so far. The next thing is support. Either locally find a support group or this board. It helps to keep you focused and the advice and support from others going thru same process is so helpful. Then if all else fails if you aren't seeing a therapist maybe try that to see if it helps. Good luck! Kelly
  17. That's great Jen. I hope the dr agrees with the tech!!
  18. There was a surgeon in Lousiana doing the VSG for around $9000. I think his name was Dr Borland.
  19. Cottage or ricotta cheese w/pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce. You can sprinkle parmesan cheese on it.
  20. Welcome, and congrats on being sleeved!! :hippie: Kelly
  21. Congrats that is awesome for a month!! Glad to hear you're feeling good and able to get around easier. You're making great progress!! Kelly
  22. Cograts! Good to hear you're home and recovering.
  23. Just do your best for the remainder of your pre-op. I think this is the hardest part. You can do it!!
