Disco got a reaction from Mommyg22 in Depressed
It seems like I have stalled too... Got sleeved on 6/25.... Been at 12 pd loss for 4 days!!!..... Frustrated because I HAAAAAAAATE ( with every breath I breathe) the shakes and my pouch is (seemingly) so damn small that I can barely eat / get in adequate Protein via food! Everything is sooooooo heavy & causes me to burp, have heartburn & even a small amount of food ( retried Beans or a chicken salad type purée) takes me foreeeeeeever to eat (like 15-20 mins)!!! But I sooooooo neeeeeed this stall to "unstall" because I'm feeling that depressed feeling right about now

I am in my third week and I feel your pain.... If I eat more than about 3 good bites... It's a biiiiiiig problem! And with those 3 bites., comes gurgling( feels like foamy bubbles coming back up in my throat) and then the "thanksgiving dinner" feeling. Three bites!! Geez!! I thought there was something wrong with me..... Like someone else said..... food gets cold..... Etc..... I sucks pretty much........

This was the hardest stage for me. Hang in there your stomach is still swollen. I was having a hard time with Protein Shakes also at that point. I ended up with the EAS ready to drink vanilla and I blend them with a handful of ice a little bid of Water and a little bit of coffee or Peanut Butter. I had to water them down because I couldn't stand the consistency or sweetness of them!

Ok! So it's NOT just me! I feel the EXACT same way (like I have eaten a COW with just a couple bites of beans.... wondering WHYYYYYY they said we can have this at this stage if it makes our new little stomach's feel not so good(??)
Not sure about the smoothie, but someone did post that a frozen 1/2 a banana and the Premier chocolate shake blended up is pretty good! Think I'll try that today
Guess like in "Finding Nemo".... like Dory said we just have to "Just keep swimming, swimmiing, swimming..." lol

Hang in there! Your stomach will take some time to heal. Try some fish that is broiled and eat tiny bites. I find that to be very easy on the stomach. You should be able to eat this if you are trying eggs. It is much easier on the stomach. Your energy level can take some time to get back especially if you are dehydrated or not getting enough Protein. You can get dizzy and disoriented with this also. I always know when I didn't complete enough liquids or protein because this will happen to me. Have you tried Premier Protein drinks? They are excellent! You get 30g of protein with 1 shake. You can buy them at Sam's or costco. It seems to be the go to drink for most of us. As far as the stall is concerned it might be partly because you aren't getting your required protein or liquids. Your body thinks it's starving and is trying to hang on to whatever it can. My doctor told me "You will lose the weight as the math will win over the function of the body". Hang in there it will get better!!! Keep us posted!!

I sucked the cream filling out of some twinkies....
....then stuffed a jalepeno sausage in them and ate it with relish.
Kidding....kidding.....I didn't have any relish, that would have been foolish.

I had my sleeve done on Monday. The gas pains are crazy and I'm having a horrible time crushing my meds, they are so bitter. That being said, I'm not hungry but my mouth and mind are. I keep wondering if I made a mistake, but no going back now...

Disco reacted to Skinnypie in NO CARB BREAD?!?!
Yes, you read that right... Well, ok it has less than 1g of carb.... And it's not really "bread" but it tastes delish!
    (pic attached)
According to MFP this has less than 1g of carbs, 43 calories and 2g of Protein.< /p>
Just made them and was so surprised at how "bread-like" this is... I tried it straight from the oven and it tasted a little eggy, but I had it a couple of hours later and I liked it, I also read some of the comments on the recipe and some people added cinnamon, flavored cream cheese or other "sweet" stuff to make this a sweet treat.
I put chicken salad on top of mine and ate it like an open faced sandwich
So, here is the link and recipe:
    eggs (separated)
3 tablespoons of whole milk cottage cheese or 3 tablespoons of cream cheese (I used cream cheese)
1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
1 single size packet of artificial sweetener
    Directions:
    1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees
    2) Separate the eggs very carefully, there must be no yolk in the white
    3) In one bowl mix together the egg yolks, 3T of cottage cheese (or cream cheese) and the packet of sweetener until smooth.
    4) in the other bowl add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar to the whites and beat the whites on high speed until they are fluffy and form nice peaks.
    5) Very carefully fold the egg yolk mixture into the whites until mixed, but try not to break down the fluffiness of the egg whites too much.
    6) Spray 2 cookie sheets with Fat free cooking spray
    7) With a large spoon scoop the mixture into 10 even rounds (mine came out to 9) roughly 5 inches across, about the size of a hamburger bun.
    8) bake in the middle rack and watch them as cooking times may vary, should be somewhere around 30 minutes, could be less or more. Bake until golden brown.
    9) Remove from baking sheets and cool on a cutting board or cooling rack
While they are warm they are crumbly and similar to meringue, but once completely cool seal them in a ziplock bag or tupperware overnight and the texture will change to something softer, more like bread
Let me know what you think!

Ready to get to soft foods sooo badly, but in the meantime trying to figure out healthier alternatives & put that food devil -->????, that sits on my shoulder, the heck OFF!! Pray for me y'all ..... Yesterday was TERRIBLE..... Felt like crying as everyone ate delicious food for the 4th.*le sigh*

Disco got a reaction from Tasha420 in Pre-Op Liquids Are Kicking My Toosh!
So..... I am glad to see this post.... I am having surgery on 6/25, started a pre op diet of: raw veggies (3 of my 4 other friends had never heard of being able to have this (????), strained cream Soups, broth, strained regular Soup, pudding, cream of wheat, oatmeal and these Protein Shakes. I am sooooooo frustrated today, yesterday and the day before ( started this on Tues), and have cried multiple times each and every frickin day. I have a husband and 8 yr old ( like I'm sure most have families)!, so I can't get away from the food smells and having to cook for my child! My husband works late, so it's left to me.... So, I am dying.... And am really wondering if I can do this.... It's only been 3 days and I am very angry and sad right now. I feel like I keep telling myself just what you said : " it'll be better after"..... But it's NOT HELPING me now and I'm literally just pissed. To top it off, I am a pro photographer and have a 8-9 hour wedding tomorrow ( what the HECK am I going to do there!???? I can't stop to eat a damn pudding cup!! I also have a stressful "day job" and have to work until the day before surgery, and my 8 year old's 9th birthday is Saturday. I'm drowning..... And it's really adding to me wanting to just give up......

I know your pain! I'm already mourning food, it has been such a huge part of my life (not to mention why I'm so huge). I am really contemplating seeing someone (psych) to help me through this transition. I have my surgery on Dec. 3, wish me luck.
