Sleeve Or Bypass - Which Would You Choose?
No doubt I would do the sleeve. My mom had the bypass years ago and her recovery wa horrible. I had my sleeve Nov 18 and I am down from 247 to 189. My recovery was quick and easy and my food list was an easier options than hers. He ha gained some of her weight back and she always had that dumping sensation. She stayed miserable for a while.

12 Weeks Out Cant Really Eat
K I'm at a loss. Getting very frustrated. For the last three weeks every time I eat anything I vomit. It can be just two bites and I'm vomiting. It has hone from hard core vomit to the foam and slimed then throw up. I had finally had all I could take and went to my surgeons office on valentines day. Told them how nauseated I was and how I vomited an had horrible pain in my breastplate and back. They gave me something for nausea and sent me for an endoscope. The endoscope showed a slightly tilted esophagus and a need for a little dilation. Nothing major. Weekend ok not vomiting as much. Tuesday afternoon (when I had my 3 small kids with me) I thought I was having a freaking heart attack. Went to the ER everything ok but X-rays showed a huge air pocket in my stomach or intestines. Said I needed to go to the bathroom more. I haven't been since Monday the 20th and have been taking fiber and stool softeners and still nothing. Go back to surgeon on Wednesday and he wants a barium swallow now. I am still not able to eat without getting slimes or vomit. Not as nauseated as before. I go this next Thursday for the swallow. Was told to just keep fluid down if u could until we see what's wrong if anything. Really? Obviously something is not right or I could eat Help!! Suggestions???

11 Wk Post Op Vomiting And Stall
Hey everyone! I'm eleven weeks out today and have lost 48 pounds. However over the last week nothing is settling. It stops at the end of my esophagus and comes right back up in a ball. Always nauseated before and after I eat. I have to lay down to knock it most times and to top it off I have stalled. I've been the same weight for almost three weeks now very frustrating. Any suggestions? Is this nausea and vomiting normal? I'm miserable. Help!!

Just Had gastric sleeve Surgery Two Days Ago
I am two weeks today being sleeved. I felt your pain I thought I was not going to make it at first and then questioned my whole decision. It does get better. Drink warm liquids. I 20 lbs lighter have no regrets. Use gas x like it is ur best friend. Take ur pain meds that's what they are for. They ease some of that chest pain. Walk and walk more. I took naps too. These made me feel better. Until the pressure is gone from ur chest u won't feel real great. Good luck!

So pissed and discouraged by Blue Cross
I have been arguing with blue cross over the last month and I am very frustrated....I made my initial consult in November....it was three months nutrition classes at that time...my daughter then had E-coli and salmonella and then it was the holidays and one thing led to another.....of course as always I came last....I finally got back to the doc in March for my nutrition classes and found they had changed it to 6 months...well, that then put me past the summer time...I am a teacher and I had planned to do it over the summer and my dang deductible will go up to 5,000.00 in September....I am on a school calendar year for insurance...if I could do it now it would be only about 400.00 total for everything..... It is very frustrating and depressing.....I went again last night to another nutrition class so I could get my second one done.....any suggestions on fighting with the insurance??? UGH

Full of Emotions and Questions
Hi! I went to visit with the doc yesterday and originally went in for lap band but came out a gastric sleever. I am just starting this journey and my insurance is making me do a 3 month diet class before we can have surgery. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I almost had myself talked out of having it. How horrible is the pain after wards? As long as I continue with liquids the first two weeks will I be ok? Am I going to regret I did this after wards in the post op period? I have 3 small kids 10, 7 and 5 and I do basically everything for them and teach school. My 7 year old is a down's child but is the most loving child ever placed on this earth. He is mild in his disability. He currently attends at the school where I teach. I want to be able to be active for my children and enjoy life. I feel restricted now. My daughter's dance team has been invited to dance at down town disney in June of 2011 so I want to have energy and have fun there with my children and not be held down by my weight. As of now, I am looking at February of 2011. Any suggestions?
