SouthernSleever got a reaction from LilMissDiva Irene in When people starting treating you nicer
Oh yes, I get treated so differently even by family. I know that they loved me but it's like how anmals and people in general tend to shy away from creatures who are dying and we were. If someone was sad and unhappy and it showed externally, like it does with us fat people, then you would find those people excluded more often. Since our major reason for being live is to reproduce I think a lot of the Men folk have it ingrained in their head to try to lure the women who would give them the best offspring which is not someone who is obese. I am just happy being on the other side and I always make it a point to be extra nice to those struggling with weight issues.

I beg to differ. I'd say that emotion eating and addiction play the biggest part in weight gain. I know several people who eat only healthy foods but way too much of them. It is okay to enjoy ALL foods in moderation. If fastfood is a trigger for you (mine is sodas) then stay away from it. Make the best choices you can and understand that treats, like fastfood, are just that. They are not everyday food.

It's not letting me quote but in reference to this, "because you over pay for something does not make it better. I do not know the Doctor you are referring to but I used Dr. Almanza and he was not 6 or 8 thousand and I am not sure you can find a better surgeon. I know you will not find one with more experience. I do agree with one thing you said, everyone should do their research." I have to wonder what in the world makes you think Dr Almanza is the best surgeon? I remember when i started researching Docs a year ago there were several horror stories about Dr. Almanza. He's one surgeon that not only would I not call a better surgeon I wouldnt' let him touch me.

Michelle Obama overweight.....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH......AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHaahahahahahahahaaaaa To say Michelle should stay out of it is to say that Laura Bush or Nancy Reagan shouldn't have encouraged America's children to read they should have just stayed out of it and let Americans decide for themselves if they wanted to learn to read or not. Have you seen what kids eat in lunchrooms across America? Have you seen how little activity they get in and out of school. To say at that anyone turns a blind eye to this and the healthcare/budget problems this will result in is plain STUPID.

Hi everyone! I'm a little over 6 months out and down 75lbs so I thought I'd post some pictures I'm really happy with my VSG. My weight loss has been creeping along the last few months so I have been doing low carb and it's going great. I feel much better on it! Just last week I started rowing! I have NEVER EVER done a sport. I even wear spandex <choke>. I went to Dollywood two weeks ago and rode the rides. Sex is great, life is great, I look great (in my opinion)! I'm loving my VSG!!!

I'm in the first seat there from your left!

My mother and aunt were very against me having the surgery. I told them that there is no doubt I will get diabetes. That the more I gain the harder it will be for me to move and then lose weight. I showed them stats and even showed my mother this site. Finally I told my mother that this was my choice and I would like to have her support. I made it clear her not supporting me wouldn't change my mind. My aunt really just wanted to make sure I had done my homework. Even if they decided not to support you, we will.

SouthernSleever got a reaction from faithstar in Grazing
It doesn't make sense to me to eat 3 meals a day with 2-3 bites. There isn't a way to get in your needed nutrition for your body to function well. If we are doing exersice to make our bodies stronger we are using up more calories. The reason we got this surgery is we aren't listening to our bodies. We don't pay attention to full signs or hunger signs. With the smaller stomach we have to pay much more attention. It only makes sense that each person's eating habits should depend on the amount of activity, the amount they are able to get, and their calorie goals. It is a very personal number. I, myself, will never eat 3 meals a day. I have learned through Nutrition classes long before hearing about this surgery and my sucessful attempts at weight loss that my body and my mind do better at 5 small meals or "grazing" as some call it. Like the previous poster I also, before surgery, would eat a little something before going shopping or to a party so I didn't feel the need to over indulge. I'm glad to hear everyone's experiences though!

I believe because of the oversewing that it creates a smaller pouch. 97% of Dr Aceves patients lose all their excess weight within the first year so whatever he's doing it must be working.

SouthernSleever reacted to LilMissDiva Irene in The good thing about being a slow loser
Your numbers look almost exactly like mine!!! LOL!!! The thing for me tho is that I still have to lose 80 Lbs. Oh well... I just keep on fighting - not weighing every day. I weigh once or twice per week, that way I don't see a whole lot of the ups and downs. Also there have been times I didn't weigh at all knowing I'd see a minor gain (TOM). It would be a false gain so why stress over it?

@Denise, that is the best thing... don't stress! It WILL come off, even if slowly. The Holidays are over now (TG!!) and now we can just go back to business as usual.

@Coops - there is a "like" button. They are the little green (+) to the bottom right. hee!!

Let's keep rockin it no matter how long it takes! We are ALL winners!!!

Ya know, calling MC's advertisers and telling them you will no longer buy MC or their products if they support this kind of attitude is the best way to really see change.
