  1. Woohoo! I've been checking the site all day for your update and I'm so glad you are feeling well...at least well for being just operated on. Did you meet anyone on your floor?
  2. You are such an inspiration and I'm so proud of you. You aren't only skinny but healthy. You made the commitment to help yourself with exercise and also to help newbies along. I commend you, fantastic skinny you!
  3. You look fabulous and congrats!!
  4. Woohoo! Can't wait to hear from you!
  5. Sexy! Look at those heels girl! You go!
  6. How are doing? Let us know when you feel up to it!
  7. I'm excited for you! This was the best decision I ever made and I know you will be so happy! <hugs>
  8. I'm about 10 months out and I still have great restriction. I worked 6 1/2 hours cleaning a house and was SO hungry on the way home I stopped at Burger King and got a Whopper Jr. I took the bottom bun off and ate it that way. It was just right. I worry about gaining back and I feel like I've stopped losing. I'm not doing great on my plan, i'll admit, but not horrible either. <sigh>
  9. I would encourage her to "get healthy" with you. Just because she is of normal weight doesn't mean she's healthy and it would take the emphasis off of the weight portion. Work out together, compliment her arms getting toner or whatever. If she gets healthier there's nothing wrong with that!
  10. You can see my stats in my signature. I would say I would workout more had I had my 6 months to do over again. You can see December totally screwed me, that's when I ate whatever carbs I wanted to, this month will be the same. Keep your carbs under 50 and keep moving are my suggestions!
  11. You don't need more carbs. Keeping your carbs below 50 a day is a good guideline, it's the water, to rebuild muscle (after you tear them which working out does) it requires a lot of water.
  12. Just take a large spoon and get a big swig of it. The people at the heath food store and the back of the bottle will tell you more about it. Spectrum makes a great probiotic but they can be pricey, the store brand will do just as well.
  13. You are doing great! Tip for you probiotics will keep you regular and they are so good for you. Get some of the refrigerated kind from a heath food story and just take a tbs a day.
  14. You are doing great! Keep on keeping on!
  15. If you like coffee have the pressed coffee and the deserts are yumlicious. I had the sampler entree and it was great, also the cactus was good. I went all out <blush>
  16. The Resturant down stairs is amazing! Just because you were the only one he picked up doesn't mean you will be the only one on that floor. You most certainly won't be. You can feel free to PM me or text (pm and i'll give you my cell) or call if you need a friend who's been there done that. There are about 8 rooms off the hall where you will be walking, peek in and introduce yourself. I did to everyone who was there when I was and had some great convos. Ladies were coming by to check on me and me to them.
  17. A day before your flight call your airline and ask for a wheelchair and bulkhead seats. The wheelchair thing will get you to board first and if you do need a wheelchair (unlikely) you can get one. Also you will get a golf cart like thing to get you around the airport. Bulkhead seats are so roomy. Just tell them you had surgery and they will be accommodating. My flight home was MUCH better than my flight there. I drank apple juice on the flight and brought some of the spice packets from ramen noodles to mix with hot water on the plane and drink.
  18. I will tell you that I worked in the medical field while I was in nursing school and the private hospital that Dr A works out of is so clean. They follow the guidelines for sanitation to a T. All the staff I spoke with spoke great english aside from one guy on the late late shift who was a CNA. In my unpaid opinion he is THE BEST Doctor in all of the US or Mexico. I haven't heard one complication from him and I have been doing research for 6 months pre-op and I'm almost a year out. If any of my family wanted to have weightloss surgery, even my dear children when they get older, I will encourage all of them to go to Dr. Aceves. Feel free to call Nina, she can answer any questions or PM me.
  19. Your arms look fabulous as do you! Congrats!
  20. You will see a drop your body is just storing up water from all that it used powering your muscles. We keep several pounds of water reserves and once they are depleted the body starts saving up so you are losing fat just not seeing it on the scale. Grats on your awesome hiking btw!
  21. Walking and massage helped me a great deal. I also found that artificial sweetners made me gassy. You will get through this and let me tell you, it's pretty damn nice once you do.
  22. Woah! I remember your preop pics from way back. Girl you look fabulous! Congrats!
  23. I still feel like this 10 months out. The scale will go up a couple pounds or I will stall for my normal 3 weeks and every single month, without fail, I think. Okay that's it now I'll start gaining back. Just a few days later it starts dropping again and voila somehow I'm down 100 lbs. Amazing how it works!
  24. I adore going shopping. I used to go and decide on what looked the least awful out of the tent shaped puffy painted gued crap they sell for plus sizes. I couldn't get an outfit for less than 100 bucks. Today I hit Jc Penny, Marshalls, and an second hand store. Left with 3 items for 40 bucks and I could have spent another 500 without blinking an eye. I look damn good in all of it too I love taking a bath and not touching the sides, the Water comign all the way over me. I love driving and putting my left leg up in the seat with me Crossing my legs Getting hit on by guys who wouldn't even look my way before. Eating small, girlie meals borrowing clothes from my skinny mom!
