Hello Y'all! Sorry I have been MIA lately, just totally too busy to do much of anything. With all the stuff of learning this new job and all, now I am also planning a trip and getting our passports. So, needless to say things have been pretty busy. My niece is getting married in April, and we are all going to Mexico for the wedding. It is going to be at the One and Only Resorts Palmilla. Our expenses are paid so it will even be better. If you want to take a look at the place it is One&Only Resorts and then choose the Mexico one. It is so beautiful, I just can't wait. We had to send for copies of our b-certificates, then when we finally got them we headed for Walgreens to get the photos, then to the post office for the last part. Needless to say this took a lot of time, not all in one day. Now we just wait till we get them. I still have to catch up on everyone, so bear with me. Pat - You know we are all praying for you, you are very special and we love ya girl! I can't wait to see pictures of the new you! Well, I have to get supper going, it's getting late, but I didn't want y'all to think I deserted you. I'll try to get here more often. I have to do personals another time, but just know you are all in my thoughts daily! Hugs!

Happy New Year Y'all! I hope everyone had a nice Holiday! Everything was great here, I am just tired and glad it is finally all over with! My decorations are all done and put away and things are back to normal. Diane - I think Pat might be in Florida. I think they were going to go look at some property there, I just am not sure what the dates were that she was going. Troy - Welcome aboard. Glad to have you! Mandy - You need to take a little R&R for yourself too! I bet your house is pretty with all the decorating/painting you do! Jessica - We all have problems sticking with our program during the holidays. The good thing about the band is it's always there waiting for us when we fall off. You'll get back on the wagon, and things will get better! Good luck! Eileen 2 - It gets better with each day. Eileen 1 - Hey girlie, Happy New Year right back at you! Well, it's time for me to think about getting dressed for work. Catch you all later!

Good Morning Y'all! Well, I finally made it back again! lol It has been pretty hectic the last few weeks. Tonight we are going to a party with our friends (neighbors) and it is always fun. I finally got the day off w/o DH and guess what? His van's lights blew a fuse this morning and he didn't have time to fix them, so now I am without a car. I had a ton of plans today too! Bummer. Eileen 2 - Glad to have you aboard. I posted to this thread a few years back by mistake and have been here ever since. It's a great group of gals and we enjoy each other and support each other. You'll love it here! Cindy - I keep looking at my closet and thinking about cleaning it, but have decided not to do it on my day off. Then I look at the fridge and say the same thing! I really don't want to work today, although now I will since I am stranded at home w/o my car! Mandy - You'll have to take pictures when you are finished! I'd love to see your fancy work! Kat - Are you all healed up now? Hopefully you are finished with all the medical problems, it's soon going to be a new year! Pat - Where are you? Are you getting ready for your big day? Jessica - How did you do over the holidays with your new band? Good Morning Anne, Diane, Darcy, Beanie, Eileen #1, and everyone else that I am missing. I can't think this morning, I am too mad! lol I'll try to get back later, if not, everyone have a great and safe holiday and I'll see you back in the same place next year! Catch you all later!

Hello Y'all! Well, I sure do hope y'all had a great Christmas. We had a good one! I am off work today, I have been running around to some of the smaller stores for some bargains, but then I had to take my car back in for work so now I am stuck w/o a car for a while. They said they did some work on it and it wasn't done. Hmmmmm, now they are going to do it right! It is an overcast and some rain day here today. I don't mind at all, I just need to get a few more chores done and then I want to get some R&R before returning back to work tomorrow. I need to clean up a little from yesterday and do a load or two of laundry. Where is everyone? Thanks for all the beautiful cards/pictures! I love getting them! Later!

LIQUIDS for me all the time
My doctor told me to eat a smaller meal at night, and I wouldn't be so tight in the morning. I started doing that and it actually does work.

Good Morning Y'all! Gosh, everyone must be out shopping and getting ready for Christmas. I am not even close to being ready, but I do have Christmas Eve off so that will help me. There just isn't enough time in the day to get everything done. It gets dark too early now and that sure puts a damper on things. Anne - 12 inches of snow, I think it is pretty, but I don't want it! It has been cold and warm here, but when I say cold, it's nothing like up there! It is going to be in the 70's tomorrow, but 50's by Christmas! Mandy - Have you rode your bike yet, or do you have snow too? Pat - Did you try to make Cookies again this year? I remember your pictures from last time! ROFLMAO! Cindy - How do you like this weather? I'll take it over being cold all the time, but you never know how to dress from day to day. Diane - It won't take you long to realize that some days you just can't eat what you can other days. Just when you think you found something you can eat really good, it tells you nope, you aren't going to have that today! Kat - I do the same thing with eating. I still think I have to clean up my plate. Will we ever learn? Eileen - Hey girlie, what's up these days? Have you totally learned your new job and are you liking it? I still have lots to learn, but I am really liking mine! Sherry - Are you making candy and cookies this year? I am only going to make one batch of cookies I think and that is to take to my DB house on Christmas eve. They always request that is one thing I bring, along with my fruit salad and baked Beans. Darcy - Just know we are thinking about you and have you in our prayers. We are here if you need us! Hugs! Well, I know I am missing some, but I guess I have a brain fart and can't remember who! I wish it was Friday, I am definately ready for the weekend. Have a great one!

Good Morning Y'all! I have been so busy I just have not had tme to post. I try to read it every day, but then by the time I finally catch up I have to go do something else. Our party was a lot of fun, I had a little too much to drink and didn't feel on top of the world yesterday, but still had to get things done so just kept pushing myself. I think the more you move, the better you start feeling. Mandy - What a great present! Just be careful and you'll have lots of enjoyment out of it. Cindy - Glad you are enjoying your new job. How about all this crazy weather we are having? Diane - I'm glad you are feeling much better. Sometimes we just need to let it rest for a while, I guess that is why we call it a finicky b@tch! Eileen- Are you still drooling over the cool guy? You need to take your camera and get a picture so we can all drool! Pat - I really love your new hair style! Are you getting nervous about the surgery yet? Patty - Glad you found a new job! I'm doing the happy dance for you! Sherry - I'm like you, I certainly can't drink as much as I used to, but at times I don't have enough brains and still try. Glad you had a great time. Opps, the clock tells me it's time to go and I'm not dressed. Catch the rest of you next time. Have a great one!

Hello, I only have a minute, I am getting ready for a party too. Diane - You probably need to go on liquids for 24 hours because you probably irritated your self and have a little swelling. If you go on liquids, then try to eat something and do the same thing, you need a slight unfill. You might be a tad bit tight, or like I said caused some swellling. How much fill did you get? I'll catch you all later!

Good Morning Y'all! Sorry I can't get here as much as I would like to, there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day right now. I do try to get here and at least read even if I don't post. Pat I really love your hair! You look sexy mama! Sherry - Congrats on wonderland! I am so proud of you! Jessica - Nice post, thanks for sharing it. It makes me stop and think about how I advoid exercise all the time. I have good intentions, but then I end up not following through. Good Morning to all the rest, and I'll get caught up soon. Hugs!

Good Morning Y'all, Still not up to par, but feeling much better. I guess I had a touch of flu, my boss sent me home from work on Wednesday and I went straight to bed, I had a HIGH fever and hurt all over, had a runny nose and sneezed all the time. I was worse on Friday, and though I would die I felt so bad. I stayed in bed most of Friday too. (now you know how sick I was) Then Friday afternoon late I decided I had to do something so I took one of the new Alieve cold tablets, I figured I could feel any worse even if it got stuck. Well, it works wonders, and I started feeling better really fast. I still feel weak and still have to take one every day, but no more attacks! I have a lot to do today to catch up before going back to work tomorrow, but going to do it slowly! Dianne Happy Birthday! Hope you had a good one. Patty - It will be a new year soon, hope the next one is better for you. Pat - I have a food saver, hardly ever use it, but I am definately going to try your idea. Although I think I will just wrap my presents the first time around. lol Kat - Men don't think anything about the cold. I bet he's having a great time, but then when he gets home he'll complain about the cold just so you won't think he had too much fun! Eileen - Everyone at work had an ipod, except me! I need a new microwave so that is what I am getting for Christmas. Jess - How's the new band doing? Are you on solids yet? Cindy - Thanks for thinking about me! Your new office sound wonderful. Makes working much better! Well, going to get my bunns moving and get my clothes washed for work. DH is complaining he is hungry and I still have to get some christmas stuff done. Catch you all later!

The worst of all complications
Thank you so much for taking the time to help others while you are going through such a rough time yourself. This is a standard procdure with my doctor. I think everyone that is going to go through surgery should insist on having one. Again, thank you for warning others, my heart goes out to you.

Hello Y'all! Not feeling too good tonight, I guess I am catching what DH has had all week. I have been fighting it, but feel pretty lousy right now. Pat - I can't believe it has been 3 years, I remember when you were banded! Congrats! Cindy - I haven't done the first thing for Christmas. Except put up a small tree, and decorate the table. I have to decorate at work, and finish at home but can't seem to catch the mood. Not enough hours in the day. Mandy - He looks crazy! I hope they find her, just for the family's sake. I heard from Darcy, she is going through a bad time right now and doesn't feel like talking to anyone. She did say to say hello to you all. I am sure she will be back soon. Just keep her in your prayers. Well, going to go lay down for a while and get some meds in me so I can go to work tomorrow. I'll try to do more personals tomorrow. Right now I can't even think!

Hello Y'all! Mandy - We are following that case here in Texas! I would say by everything we hear he is definately guilty. That is so sad! I'll definately keep her in my prayers. Sherry - Busy? Did you say busy? Sounds like you are much more than busy! Hope you get your tree up in time. I only put up a small one this year, I just can't get in the mood yet. Hope all you gals with the snow don't freeze! I don't think I could handle that anymore. Anyone heard from Darcy? I think about her all the time. Beanie too! Guess we have to send the monkeys out huh? Well, it's been a heck of a day, I am worn out and I am going to finally sit down. Catch ya all later!

Good Morning Y'all! It sounds like everyone is busy decorating! Maybe this weekend I'll get a few things out too. They put up a tree at work yesterday, then they took everyone's picture and put it in a small frame and hung them on the tree. It was kind of neat! Pat - No new bike, the same old one I have had since 2002. Kat - I have seen some Santa's like that and they are really cool. Chrispy - Glad you found such a sweetheart! Anne - Hope your MIL gets well fast. Jessica - Maybe a Protein Drink will help you between. I ate a lot of mashed potatoes/gravy at first, or Soup is great too. Diane - It won't be long till you can get a fill and some of the hunger will go away for you. Mandy - Have you got all the presents wrapped yet? Cindy - How does the new mixer work? Well my friends, the clock tells me it is time to get ready to go to work. I would much rather crawl back in bed for an hour, but then I wouldn't go to sleep anyway so I guess I better go make some money.

NJ November Thread
Hello Y'all! Well, I still don't have much time, but I am going to try to catch up a little bit. We had a great Thanksgiving, we went to my DB house and had tons of good ole fattening food! lol Then on Friday, I cooked a full dinner here with pies and all the trimmings. This morning my neighbor brought over some gumbo, so needless to say, my house is full of food! And what am I doing right now? Cooking rice to go with the gumbo! Tee Hee! Saturday was our anniversary, and we went up to the Harley deal. We entered our bikes, and I won a trophy and a gift card. I loved that! Then we went out to dinner and the steaks were so tender you could cut them with a fork. Really Yummy! We were going to go through the lights, but they had a power outage so we didn't get to go, so we have that planned for this weekend. We had a great time and a lot of fun! Cindy - I got one of those mixers a few years ago, and I absolutely love it! Mine is red, what color did you get? Pat - I bet your house is so pretty with all the Santa's. I haven't done anything yet, I thought about it on Sunday, but decided not to do it. Sherry - I bet your outside lights are really pretty, who cares if the neighbors don't like it! I say go for it! Diane - It took me several fills before I was tight enough to get things stuck. Don't be discouraged when you get your fill if it loosens up after a week or so. You will get there in time. Patty - Hope things are getting better for you! Chrispy- how's the new beau? I hope he is the special one! Jetti - How is it going? Eileen - I don't think I will ever be able to listen to that song and not think about you! Kat - bored? Not you! Well come on down, I bet I could make you unbored real fast! Mandy - Are you all done with your decorations? Anne and Darcy where are you girls? Check in time! Well, if I missed you I am sorry, but I have to catch my rice before it sticks to the pan. Catch you all later!

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all! Yes Pat you are right, up to my elbows with cooking. My feet and legs hurt too! But, it's all for a good cause! I have more to cook tomorrow or Sunday, I refuse to have it on Saturday as it is my Anniversary! Pat - I am glad you still have it! Tee Hee! The surgery sounds awsome, I should check into it but I can't right now. Cindy - Congrats on the new job!~ Sherry - It's in the 40's here today! Diane - Awwww, we are glad you found us too! Mandy - Check out the Black Friday Ads on line! Kat - YOU need to learn to say no! Same to you, you can buy from home and pick up at the store the next day or so on the black friday ads. Eileen - Hope you have a great day! I know I am missing people, but I have to check my dressing in the oven before it burns. It's almost time to go and I have to get finished. Everyone, have a great and safe holiday! Thanks for being who you are and thanks for being my friends! Hugs!

What is it with the superior 'oldies'!!
I for one am very thankful for the "oldies" although a lot of them have left since I first found LBT. When my doctor mentioned the lapband to me I fought it like crazy, didn't want any part of it. For almost a year I didn't even check it out. Then one day I decided to look it up on the internet. Somehow, I stumbled across LBT and started reading the threads on here. I was amazed at the information on this board, and also amazed at the advice these ladies were giving. After reading the treads for about a month, I decided I wasn't afraid of the surgery anymore, and I joined the board. I started asking questions and getting good answers. Wnen I went to talk to my surgeon about the surgery I was so informed of everything that was going to happen or could happen he was surprised at me! I learned all this from LBT and the "oldies" on here. They took the time to explain things to me, and anyone else that had questions. One person that really helped me (who isn't here anymore) was a special lady named "Letha." She had went through a lot with her band, and was ready to help anyone who needed help. I never had problems with my band, but I knew what to expect or do if I did have problems just because of the advice from the "oldies." Maybe you won't always like the answers you get when you ask your questions, but you will get honest answers. You also should remember this is just a support board and the best advice you can get is from your doctor and your doctor alone. Every doctor had different rules, and just because your friend can eat or do something doesn't mean you should if your doctor tells you not to. I still turn to this board and the "oldies" when I need help, and I am an oldie myself now, but you know what? I haven't been where some of them have with their bands, and I am ready to listen to them every time! Who knows, I might be the next one to go through what they did! So, thank "oldies" for all the help and advice you have given me for the last three years.
