  1. Wow what great ideas!!! I have a trade show coming up in Vegas and this will be a problem for me as well. Buffetts thankfully not a bossy nosey lady though! LOL! Good Luck Mid West!!
  2. I have just returned from Marie Calendars. I ordered the potato cheese soup and I only ate about 1/4 th of my bowl. I felt full and stopped and I have left over soup for dinner tonight or tomorrow. Plus for three of us the bill was only $20!!! A couple of weeks ago I would have just gotten started with the bowl of soup then I would of ordered an entree and finished it up with a slice of pie. I am very happy!!! :biggrin2:
  3. I had the band and it slipped. I did really well with the weight loss until it slipped though. One thing I use to hate with the band is that I would get stuck all the time. I think out of 365 days in a year I was throwing up (productive burping??) at least 300 of them. Is there a way that you could self pay? Dr. Almanza is doing the sleeve for 5200. I was very happy with the level of care I received. Just a thought My Mom has the RNY with Duodenal Switch. She has had it for the past 12 years and has done beautifully. I would choose the RNY over the band if it was me and those were my only options. Good Luck with whichever path you choose. big big hug!!
  4. When I was in TJ at the Recovery house there were a couple of ladies that had the "works" done and they seemed to be tolerating it ok. I really would like to get my arms done at some point if possible, but if not I guess thats ok too.
  5. Pumpkin you are not alone. I too was feeling this the first week. I was so very depressed and wondering what in the heck I had done to myself. I feel I have snapped out of it now and I really just Thank God for the people in the Group for that!!! Prayers are with you! xo
  6. Hi Xandria! I am new to the site as well. I was sleeved on 1-28-10 in Mexico with Dr. Almanza. I was like you extremly nervous mostly because I was going out of the Country for the surgery. Everything went really well though so the worrying was for nothing. There were about 10 of sleeved in 2 days at the same clinic and out of all of us only 3 had a tough time with the anesthesia. Me being one of the 3. I just dont tolerate the gas very well. I had the same thing happen when I had the lap band put in. I will say the very best thing you can do is get up and walk as soon as possible. It really helps get that gas out of your body. I was right as rain in a couple of days though. I am loving life getting use to my new stomach and I have already lost 20 lbs!!! I wish you the best and know that I will be thinking about you and praying for you as well!! xo
  7. It worked!!! Now to post some pictures!!! I just love this site!!!

  9. Yay Margo!!! Good Luck and Speedy Recovery! Looking forward to hearing about your experience!! Woo Hoo!!!! You are doing it!!! YAY!!!
  10. I am jealous!! You are one day ahead of me. I had surgery on 1-28 and I started my mushie phase last week Wednesday and I can barely get anything down. I tried eggs last night- scrambled with spinach and couldnt do it. I feel so frustrated!! I guess I just need to stick with liquids longer? Happy for you though!!
  11. It worked It Worked It worked!!!!! Yay!!!
  12. Pumpkin I hope you are feeling better today! I am feeling so much better. I started my mushie phase and really not having so much luck with that so far. I havent been able to get anything down without trouble except for refried beans? oh and smashed up carrotts. I tried a protien shake last night and WOW was it good. Vanilla protien with milk and half a banana some ice and blend it up!! Really Good!! I also read on here someone mixes the vanilla protien with Celestial Seasonings Peach tea so I am going to try that today. I think I have the ticker thing loaded properly too!! lets see if it shows up! LOL! Good Luck and keep me posted on your progress ok?
  13. I was sleeved on jan 28th in Mexico. I live in Los Angeles and we stopped in old town san diego for soup and bought some candy for the family back home. I was wiped out and just the little bit of walking that we did had me cramping.
  14. The hopsital coordinator sent this to me today. I found it most helpful!! I was sleeved jan 28 in Mexico with Dr. Almanza http://www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org/pdf/dietary_guidelines_sleeve_gastrectomy.pdf

  16. Hi Kimberly! I am like you I am still Hungry. I am not sure if its in my head as I am obsessing over food I think or if I am really hungry??? I was sleeved on 1-28-10 in TJ by Dr. Almanza. I just started eating mushies and have been pretty confused as to what I can and shouldnt eat. I ate steamed zuchini with cottage the other night and it hurt my stomach really bad and up it all came. I think it was the cold of the cottage cheese?? I seem to not be able to tolerate cold very well yet. My hospital coordinator sent me this today and I found it really helpful maybe you will too? It sort of explains a lot of what is and what isnt ok to eat. http://www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org/pdf/dietary_guidelines_sleeve_gastrectomy.pdf Good luck!! Irene
  17. That is wonderful!! I dont think the "unauthorized" addition to your liquid diet is a big deal at all. Glad that you are feeling better!!:lol0:
  18. How do you add a friend? Oh and how do you personalize your page? New to all this and would appreciate any help? I was sleeved on 1-28-10 and I find this site most WONDERFUL!!! I would like to start adding friends!!! :lol0:
  19. Hi Firefly! Just checking in to see how you are feeling today? Hope all is well!! :lol0:
  20. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Hi MJ!!!! Yep stitches are out. Mom took them out for me last weekend and it seems like as soon as I got them out I started to feel better. More normal. Course that whole weekend I just layed around and watched movies so I am sure that had a lot to do with it as well. I started the mushies phase but so far all my tummy will tolerate is refriend Beans (YUM) and smooshed up carrotts oh and Cream of wheat. I cant really tolerate the cold foods well except Yogurt that seems to go down ok. But Cottage cheese yep not so much. This site is GREAT by the way MJ thanks so much for telling me about it!! Big Hug to all!! = - ):lol0:
  21. congratulations!! Wish you a speedy recovery! I had mine on 1-28-10! If you figure out that ticker let me know too!! LoL! I tried yesterday to figure it out and had no luck.
  22. Hi Everyone! I wanted to share something that happened to me last night. I started my "mushies" phase yesterday. I had refried beans for lunch and not a problem whatsoever- In fact I felt like I was in Heaven!! So for dinner I thought I would have a bit of cottage cheese and I sliced and steamed one of the green skinny zuchinni. I made it really soft put salt pepper and butter. Sat down to eat and after 3 or 4 bites..... I got the really painful sort of like a cramp in my stomach a few times and them I could hardly make it to the restroom and up it came. I was really scared!!! I am fine now and havent had a problem with eating today. I was just wondering what you all thought. Maybe it was the skin on the zuchinni? Maybe the butter? Would appreciate any and all input. Thanks!! Irene:crying:
  23. not sleeven- sleeved!!! lmao!
  24. You make me laugh! I was sleeven on 1-28-10 and I am craving a Turkey Burger soooooo bad!!!
  25. I couldnt tolerate even sips of water until the 3rd day. Warmer was easier too. good luck and speedy recovery.= - )
