Its a difficult thing - deciding whether to tell people or not. You're under enough stress with dealing with the situation, you don't need naysayers and fearmongers crawling up your....leg. If you feel obligated to tell them, I'd wait until the last minute - that way they don't have time to weigh on you about it. Let them know you've done your research, made your decision and its a topic not open for discussion or negative comments - and stick by that! They may have questions, which is normal, but you can answer those questions with an email or showing them a website. Bottom line, you know your body better than anyone and you've decided what your body needs. Good luck!

everyone reacts to everything differently. Your stomach is still healing and it may have just not agreed with you. Always a good idea I think to try new things at home to make sure they're going to work for you
  4. yes CPT codes are universal. That is the best way to find out if something is covered.

  8. ahh yes, the clean your plate, there's starving children everywhere. Yeah. That's a hard one to overcome. I've started making sure to always leave something. Smaller plates definitely help.

So almost 2 weeks ago, I ordered protein powder from SEI Nutrition. The Protein Max powder that everyone seems to rave about. Well, they took my 100 bucks, but gosh - I never got the protein powder. I've tried calling them dozens of times, emailed them, sent them questions through their website - NOTHING. Finally on Friday I speak to some really snotty customer service rep who I then ask to transfer me to a supervisor - she says there isn't one and that she would have the supervisor call me - I told her that I doubted that would happen but waited for the call anyway - I told them that if I didn't receive the product, I was going to have my credit card company deal with them. No phonecall, of course. I call today and ask her why I didn't receive a call and she said I never asked for one - which I did. She then tells me that she cancelled my order but won't issue a refund because I threatened to have my credit card company deal with it. Well DUH what did she expect me to do, just give them 100 bucks and not care that I didn't receive my order? So now I have to go to my credit card company, and because I did authorize the charge, its taking forever to get the money back. Not only that, I don't have any protein powder to use. I'm so pissed right now.
  13. pretty much any policy where you are self-insured isn't going to pay. Group health plans typically pay. Sorry.
  14. This is far from normal. First of all, she's not chewing her food enough - that's why things get stuck and she vomits. She doesn't seem to care because she's happy with her results. She may have a slip at this point and time because of all the vomiting. Worse yet, her band could be eroded. Either way, she needs to go back to her surgeon -
  15. I guarantee you're not alone, however, please, deal with the addiction. Seek help with counseling so you don't repeat the behaviour of food addiction. The sleeve doesn't fix your food addiction.
  16. welcome to the club! keep us all up to date on your status!
  17. there are no magic creams, just like there are no magic pills. Consume lots of good proteins and drink lots of water and pray your genetics favor tight skin

  20. I'm being sleeved on 1/27 and I have about 200 lbs to lose. I live in Colorado and I'm used to being very active until the last 4 years. I don't have any comorbidities, however, I'll be having another procedure to have tumors removed from my adrenal glands a few weeks after I have my sleeve. Anyway, if anyone is in a similar situation, Coloradan or not, would love to buddy up and keep eachother in check
  21. definitely wait! You could lose a lot more than you thought you might!
  22. congrats on your engagement! I have a question: can you PLAN a wedding in 6 months??? Make sure that you're not spending all your time planning, you'll want to enjoy a little bit of time being engaged!
