My Vsg Journey Has Begun!

Hi my name is Courtney. I have been fighting my weight all of my life and this week I have begun my VSG journey. My insurance requires a 6 month documented diet. I started seeing the Dietitian on Friday. I look forward to sharing my journey with you. Any recommendations are welcome

Will do thank you

Welcome Courtney! My insurance didn't require a pre-op diet but at 40, I'd been dieting since I was 9 years old. I'm just starting week two post-op but I'm very pleased do far. I think I had a darned near perfect surgery experience too. I hope yours goes as well! Good luck!

Congratulations!! You are doing the hardest part right now. I know six months sounds like a really long time, but it will go much quicker than you anticipate. Also, take this time to really study your habits and your motivations. The prep work you do makes a huge difference in how you feel during and after the surgery. I actually liked (afterwards... not during lol) that I had to do a pre-surgery thing because when I went in for my surgery there were no surprises and following the diet afterwards was easier because I knew what to expect and because I had already worked on some of the emotions behind the weight gain.

Congrats again Courntey! I was you a year ago and now I have had my surgery and I am nearly 90 lbs down :) It was the best thing I ever did for myself!

Welcome, Hang in there and KEEP POSTING! You will learn so much from here. Way more here than in any Dr. office for 30min. a time.

Congratulations for making the decision to move forward with this surgery. I didn't have to do 6 months of a specific diet before my surgery, but I took more time than that to decide if it was right for me. I look forward to following along with your journey!

Welcome I'm 8 days from surgery and very excited. I have learned so much from this forum! Best wishes.
