When You Need Motivation Or Have Qs I'm Happy To Help :)
I think the most important lesson we will learn post-op Sleeve is that this is NOT a magic cure. We will always have to work on keeping our bodies healthy and fit. So, if you need support to get back to where you need to be, I will always be here - as well as there being many others who are willing to lift you back up. We're going to kick some butt in the next few days!

Tell Me About Your Post Op Care?
I'm posting the forum rules here as a reminder of what's allowed and what is not. Please always remain respectful in all responses and refrain from name calling. We always like to prevent any further moderating if possible, however we will begin to issue personal warnings if we have to. Thanking all in advance, http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=boardrules VerticalSleeveTalk Posting Guidelines 1. Everyone has a right to speak regardless of their perspective. 2. We take the "Be Polite" rule very seriously. We do not tolerate any rudeness. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive may be banned without warning. 3. While we believe in free speech, keep in mind that this right is not absolute. Dissent is an essential part of any discussion where people are encouraged to express varying opinions; however, it is equally important to maintain both decorum and topicality as related to VerticalSleeveTalk.com’s mission. 4. Obscenity and pornography will not be tolerated. If that’s what you’re after, there are plenty of places on the Internet to find it, and this forum isn't one of them. Please make sure all opinions are expressed without being obscene or offensive. 5. Members will treat each other with courtesy and respect, especially when they disagree. We understand that bright, intelligent and educated people may not always agree, but personal attacks in the form of insults, abusive language or other means of obvious harassment will not be tolerated. - Do not attack, mock, or otherwise insult others. You can respectfully disagree with the message or topic, but you cannot attack the messenger. This includes attacks against the user’s spelling or command of written English, or belittling a user for posting a duplicate topic. - If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, you will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself or a friend is not an excuse! Do not take matters into your own hands – instead, use the Report Post link to report an attack and we will be happy to handle the situation for you. 6. Our focus is on weight loss surgery support. While any discussion is subject to going off on a tangent, we will do our best to consistently maintain topicality. Editing, moving or deleting off-topic content will only occur when it’s necessary to redirect focus to the core topic(s) and values of this community. 7. Don't report other people's experiences as truth. Share your own experiences, thoughts, opinions, theories at will. 8. Please take the really personal discussions to PM or e-mail.

Single Ladies: The Opposite Sex
I think this happens to everyone as they lose weight. Confidence and happiness shines through and attracts more people - not necessarily those of the opposite sex. It can make other like sexes feel more competitive too.

Depressed And Desperate For An Answer.
I agree with the other responses, it would be a really good idea to express your concerns with your Surgeon. I did have a hard time eating for at least the first six months but yours sounds far more extreme. I'm wishing you the best! Please check in and let us know how you're doing.

New To The Site! So Thankful It's Here!
Hello and welcome!! You have about 3 weeks to prepare for the rest of your life. Read around and ask as many questions as you can think of. Of course the trial runs are nothing like the real thing! All the best to you in the upcoming months.

When You Need Motivation Or Have Qs I'm Happy To Help :)
Hi Britt, I think the first thing you can do is to stop giving your power away. You have to be responsible for yourself. No one is going to take care of you, nor is anyone going to sabotage you - BUT YOU. So if cake is keeping you from your personal best then you DON'T eat that. (As opposed to CAN'T or SHOULDN'T). Perfect example, I just recently gave up Doritos. I've found out they lace it with some chemicals that our bodies become addicted to. Yes, exactly the same way a drug addict chases heroine. Now, I DON'T eat that, because if I do I'm giving my power away. It's okay to tell anyone that you DON'T eat cake, so no thank you. Also, in the mean time try upping your water intake and doing some extra workouts. This journey isn't easy for some of us, and we need to take it more seriously. We need to find the right combination to make it work and KEEP it working. Good luck!

I Hate It When People Misuse "literally"!
Here's a something that really irks me: When someone states the obvious. "It's hot out here today", when indeed it is hot. That's annoying (to me).

Muscle Relaxers, Are They Okay To Take?
Just be sure to disclose your condition with the Dr. prescribing the medication as well as contacting your Bariatric Surgeon for varification. Good luck!

Thought This Was Interesting For Addressing Our Triggers.
Thanks for sharing Just a quick thought from me - I saw something on one of my good Friends FB Walls the other day. It simply said: "When I see something to eat I know I shouldn't have, I tell myself 'I DON'T eat that instead of I CAN'T'" It's a positive declaration rather than a negative connotation. I've been doing that and meaning it. It really works.

Omg! Here It Is
Take a deep breath! Most likely once you get settled in the medical staff will give you something to calm your nerves. If they don't ask! It's okay to do this and very understandable. Once you take something the time will fly by.

Weight Goal Challenge For New Year's Day
Keeping up with it!! I've recently been getting back to my 100% workouts. Only thing is I need to get back on my strength training. I have not been doing that nearly enough. I like cardio so much more, but I know I need both. I'll do it! Someone got some nice steel toe boots to kick me in arse with?

^^ Yep I have six Cats and one of them does that too. My awesome Hubby makes sure he keeps the boxes cleaned every day or "Romeo" will peepee right in front of the litterbox. It's so annoying! LOL Sometimes I wish it were as easy to potty train puppies as it is to train Kittens. All my cats are rescues as well. Kudos to you Cookeeez (sp? lol) for doing that. We need more folks like you in the world.

I Had The Sleeve So I Can Get Pregnant
I'm praying for you! As far as how long you should wait, I've heard all kinds of different advice. My personal surgeon suggested no less than 18 Months. 6 Months sounds a lot better if you're trying to get pregnant sooner. As long as you're eating enough nutritionally by then (which I do believe is the only real concern post op for becoming pregnant) per your Dr. it should be okay.

D: I'm sorry to hear about your lil Furbaby! Mine is only 12 Weeks old and is not even allowed to go outside yet per our Veterinarian. Once we are able to do this we will do our best to let her go out. I'm sure she'll do fine, I've already been able to teach her how to sit. She's actually a very smart lil Poopie.
