  1. FYI here is the link to the thread: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/294071-vets-struggling-with-52-there-may-be-an-alternative/
  2. OT: Melixxa... I love your avatar. That WAS my favorite show as a teenie bopper. Liv, please keep us updated. Wishing you all the best.
  3. Oh my goodness! I just lost my entire post. I hate that. What I was saying is that my solid meals only last between 2-3 hours when I would prefer they lasted 4-5 hours in between. Brittu, you're so lucky! I wish my hunger had never come back. Right now I can comfortably eat 2-4 oz of Protein depending on the density, a small serving of veggies and small serving of carbs. I can never drink with my meals, it actually makes me feel sick and bloated. It's so tough for me because I cannot burn off extra calories via workouts like I once could. I'm in a constant state of flux because in order for me to lose I have to eat less and that is so difficult when I'm hungry all the time. HC, I'm very glad to be back in the fold. I need the support that is offered here! You all are the best on the Planet when it comes to that. Taking a break did not serve me well. I thought it would but much to the contrary. I know I'll be fine and in time I'll be back in those ZERO's!! Hallelujah! I actually forgot about that. That was the best feeling. I never EVER imagined I'd fit in that size. See? I need this place! Also, I seen a thread around here for those struggling with 5:2 and to try the 8 hour diet. It sound way more doable to me. 500 calories is just... way too little. At least for me.
  4. It gets better. ...and better... AND BETTER!! Hang in there. I had the same issues you are having right now post op, and I came out just fine. I don't regret a minute of the misery because my life right now is wonderful. Take care and get well soon. WELCOME TO THE LOSERS BENCH!
  5. How frustrating! I guess like you mentioned it turned out to be a good thing though. Any idea on when they should re-schedule you?
  6. Hi Tn Man, welcome! It is very difficult in the first few months and especially the first few weeks post op. You would find your tastebuds change and everything makes you feel nauseated. This is very common. Have you tried the Protein Water? Or even the protein shots? Now granted these aren't the best quality but something is definitely better than nothing. You will likely have to overcome the disgust you feel while putting food in your mouth because you have to eat to survive. Good luck! And sip water all day!
  7. Hi Allegra, welcome to Bariatric Pal! Thank you for sharing your story with us. So many of us will feel sympathy and empathy for what you've gone through. A lot of us have been abused in one way or another. Overcoming those obstacles in one reason why we are even here right now. God Bless! Take care and if you ever need anything I'm here.
  8. I was expecting to see a sad story until I read you've only been waiting since the beginning of January. Take pictures, measure yourself... find other ways to measure your success. The scale isn't always going to move when you want it to. Lose the word "only" from your vocabulary. It will make your journey a whole lot more happy.
  9. God Bless! Wishing you the best.
  10. Congrats and cheers on 2 years!!
  11. Hello Veterans! I'm looking for responses from Veterans about 18 Months + Post Op. The reason for the time frame is because a lot of times (including myself) we can go a long time without feeling hunger. Then one day a long way down the road it just returns. I was around 2 years out when I finally realized I was feeling actual hunger! Growling stomach and wanted to chew my arm off. I feel hunger after about 3-4 hours after no matter how or what I've eaten in my last meal. i.e. high protein/lower carb... etc. Of course the hunger is worse or faster setting if I eat something high in carbs.
  12. You look great!! Taking pictures is my favorite.
  13. Oh yes! Huevos Rancheros has become a staple of mine since surgery. I eat it almost every single day.
  14. Oh yeah I remember you clearly! It is nice to find out my bootcamp is still being used. I still do it sometimes. I did it a few months back and avoided sugar all together for 5 straight weeks. It was a very proud moment! How have you been??
  15. Awesome cindy! You look great. Love the makeup too!
  16. This is something that always makes me smile whenever we go out. Imma cheap date. LOL I also never go to buffets either. Such a waste of money anymore. Even this far out.
  17. You'll have to give me some time to answer all of those!
  18. My excess skin is an issue for me. More for my psyche than anything else. My husband tells me I look great, but as I look in the mirror and flop around my batwings and pick up my pannus I can't help but feel bad about it. It's gotten a lot worse since I can't workout like I used to. Or rather should I say I stopped working out at all for awhile because I was feeling depressed about the whole thing. I've been doing what I can now for about a month and I've been feeling a lot better. I do a lot of light toning that does not greatly impact my knees. I can see the muscle reformation. I'm so glad muscles have a memory!! Especially since I don't. LOL From surgery until I hit "goal" it was about 10 months iirc. I was already about 50 Lost when I had my sleeve. I kept losing a little bit after and maintained my weight until about a year ago when my knees said no mas!!! I have to battle back, harder and mentally stronger than ever before but I'm definitely up for the challenge. I CAN DO THIS!!
  19. It came to a point that I knew I'd have to come out of the woodwork and share my story. I'm here to help, and I'll do that in any way I can. I need to let everyone know that not everything can nor will turn out peachy or perfect. I always said "I'm far from perfect" and that is the downright truth. I have a hill to climb and that's ok. I've never NEVER been a quitter!! I want to show the world that even in the darkest hour, there is but a few short more to daylight. I have to work around my ailments. I can't do everything like I did before, but as long as I have breath in my lungs there is something I can do. Good luck with your journey! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
  20. Gosh I feel like I just read my life story! Lol except my person trainer was Shawn T and Insanity!
  21. Yes ive been seeing the same ortho doctor for many years. He'd been doing cortisone shots on my knees until I just couldn't take it anymore.
  22. Thank you, that means so much!! Xo I'm super diligent now with my Vites/iron/B-12. My Hubby even asks me if I've taken them. He was really worried about me for a long time.
  23. It is SO NICE to be back. Hiding isn't what I was trying to do but is what it ended up being. I was so awfully upset that I couldn't workout like I was anymore. It almost seemed what I was known for but I guess I was meant to come back and now to be known as the comeback girl. Lol. Imma do it tho because I know my strengths! !
