  1. my surgeon moved to florida right after he did my surgery. he is the best. i really miss him a lot. i looked him up for you. his name is Dr. Joseph Chebli 1700 e. Venice Ave Venice, FL www.veniceembs.com 941-483-9731 I don't know what his policies are now, but i do recommend him highly. and if you do see him tell him teresa sanders says hi lol
  2. yes yes yes. the passing of your dad is the biggest stress anyone can endure. God bless you and so sorry for your loss. take care of yourself.
  3. i thought the same thing but i slept pretty well. in fact about an hour into the study they woke me and put a cpap on and i went back to sleep and had the best sleep ever. they woke me in the morning. i love my cpap wear it even though i don't snore anymore. i sleep better with it. good luck
  4. i found the ripped cream at amazon. so ordered 2 of them. thank you for the hint
  5. antibiotics are so hard on the tummy. so sorry you have an infection. try some tums. warm tea with ginger. and if your tummy still aches you may have to call the doctor for a different type of antibiotics.
  6. sallie, you know how to do this. but when i get off track keeping a journal really helped me. the first time i did it i found where a lot of my calories were coming from and that was the protein drinks and what i mixed the protein with. i just never gave the protein a thought. i was going through a 1/2 gal. of fat free milk every couple of days. lol so keep track and see where you might be picking up extra cal. and than walk walk walk. good luck
  7. i called the 3 er in my area and all of them said that they wouldnt do a unfill. they would have to transfer me to my surgeon's hospital which is 2.5 hours away. thats why i hesitated at first. still not sure if i don't need a unfill. i see my doctor on the 31st. i will just eat fish and salad. both of those things go down without problem. so i know what you are talking about that most emergency rooms are not set up to do a unfill. one of the hospitals i called even do bariatric surgeries but said they couldnt unfill my band.
  8. does anyone know of a protein that can be mixed with a hot drink? or any ideas on how to incoporate the protein i already have in a hot cup of coffee?
  9. if you have quit for awhile why go back? i used to smoke almost 2 packs daily. still want a cig. once in awhile expecially when i am angry but i would never never start smoking again. my surgeon made me sign a contract saying i would never smoke .
  10. man i was where you are now last weekend. just one foot in the car door on my way to the er. when i realized the warm tea i drank stayed down. since than i have had repeated episodes of pb'ing and slime. just tonight i had to walk around the yard until i felt better. i am a slow learner. when everyone said take it easy on here i just did what i wanted. it doesnt work. i know now i had a major stuck issue and i am likely still swollen.i am listening now. liquids for a couple of days. i sure hope all goes well with you. i am feeling your pain . keep us posted.
  11. congrat's on your surgery date!!! good luck on your journey. this is a great site. everyone is very helpful
  12. yep that is exactly what i am talking about. not the unsweeten one but the big bar of chocolate dark, chocolate or white.
  13. bakers chocolate is half the sugar as regular chocolate. melt some add nuts of your choice, dollop on a cookie sheet cool and than put in freezer bag and put in freezer. enjoy a piece when you just need candy.
  14. you are normal. you lost a good deal of weight and now your body is yelling no, it's in survival mode. keep doing what you are doing. start keeping a log of food you eat. the protein and calories. don't forget the protein drink. at minimum it has 100 cal. add it to fat free milk and you have 210 calories. it really opened my eyes when i kept an exact log of food intake. even healthy food has calories. good luck
  15. welcome welcome, this site is a lifesaver. nice that you found it so fast. good luck on your journey
  16. because you were on a prescription drug your pharmacist will have the record that you can use. if you bought a book and have a receipt that would work. but your pcp should be the only verification you would need. my weight loss doctor just asked what i have tried in the past. that was the end of that. i dont know what he wrote about me in his report to the insurance company.
  17. take your pain medication. you will move around more easily. moving is what going to help you the most. congrat's keep us up to date
  18. i fell and broke my arm 1 month exactly after i had the lap band done. i had to have surgery pins and screws. it didn't seem to affect my lap band at all except emotionally. my doctor said the anesthesia used in both surgeries takes time to leave the body. i told him to call it what it was, depression because i couldn't exercise anymore so my weight loss would stop. i had a big pity party going on. but i don't believe breast reduction will give you the gas that lapband did. to do the lapband they filled your belly with air. but i agree with missy. wait until after you lose the weight.
  19. it sounds like you have all the correct fears and anxiousness. it took me almost 2 years to complete everything my doctor wanted. you are absolutely normal. now, take a deep breath and let out slowly
  20. no, just a ring. but i opted for the medic-alert bracelet that is stretchable. i can tell when i am retaining water with it. her idea about the ring is that ppl that retain water will show it in their fingers first. it sorta alerts me that my band might be tighter and food could get caught. if i was swollen i wouldn't have a nice rib eye steak.
  21. i couldn't get a picture to post off my computer but it was a snap to get my facebook picture to post.
  22. i have salads for lunch but i will have either a salad or a hot vegetable with protein at dinner. i make my own salad dressing. using different types of vinegars, olive oil, and whole grain mustard, salt, pepper and garlic. salads are almost a slider for me. i can eat well over a cup of it without ever filling full.
  23. my doctor wants me to wear a ring. if the ring is tight so is the band. the idea is to eat accordingly.
  24. my doctor wants 60 grams of protein whether it be by food or protein drinks. i usually consume 90-100 grams of protein because i need that protein drink at night to keep me from snacking all night long. it is a appetite control thing for me. i keep a food diary and keep a tally on protein and calories. i have a 32 oz container that i keep full all day and night. and yes i have to pee during the night. but i am a drinker and don't have a problem drinking fluids.
