See lots of talk about different menu options but don't see many posts regarding salads. Are salads allowed???

yes they are. I have one almost every night about 1-2 hours before my dinner. That way I know I am getting in veggies. I don't use any Salad Dressing, though. Never have had any in my life. Ask your dietitian about them. I add sunflower seeds and shredded cheese to mine, also. Just remember to chew chew chew real well. Lettuce can be a problem.

Is salad considered a slider? I can eat a lot without getting full. I don't use a lot of dressing.

It depends on your pre & post op diet I had the on my pre op diet until bout 2-3 days before surgery then a few months after post op to see if I could tolerate the as some can and some can't , but I love salads now I just put the same distilled white vinegar with lemon juice to my liking when I mix it together and then I eat soeties I will do just a tbsp., of ranch but I don't add things like crutons,or cucumbers any more cause my band doesn't like them lol I do it doesn't.

i have salads for lunch but i will have either a salad or a hot vegetable with Protein at dinner. i make my own Salad Dressing. using different types of vinegars, olive oil, and whole grain mustard, salt, pepper and garlic. salads are almost a slider for me. i can eat well over a cup of it without ever filling full.

I rarely do salad.. Iceburg lettuce does not work for me.. I can use Romaine and use a little dressing, I would rather eat greens like collards, spinach or kale.. some folks can eat salads just fine but as far as being allowed... everything is allowed if you can tolerate it...

In the beginning, salads are hard to go down. But now, I eat salads all the time. I just have to make sure I have enough dressing on it and cut it into little pieces.

I couldn't eat salad for a couple of months post op (and I wait post fill to see how I tolerate them). I ease into them by eating endive first (more band-friendly in terms of chewing to small pieces) but now I can eat all types of lettuce, with the exception of soft lettuces like mache or rocket (too spikey). I also add seeds or nuts to my little serving...so luxurious! Today's salad was endive, goat cheese, walnuts and bits of pear...all cut up very small.

I love salads and eat them often. I use regular salad dressings (creamy italian, blue cheese, greek or zesty italian) and I include cheese and a Protein (ham, chicken or tuna). Getting calories in is a challenge for me, so very little of what I eat is diet or low-calorie...except when I splurge on ice cream. Then I opt for Blue Bell's No Sugar Added Low Fat ice cream (Dutch chocolate tastes like regular Milk Chocolate) or Weight Watchers Big Fudge Bar - each is 90 calories, 9g protein per serving...but the Blue Bell tastes soooooo much better than WW.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
