  1. Has anyone been pregnant with the lap band. I am 14wks and the nurse is saying that I should have all of my fluid removed to ensure that the baby receives proper nutrition. I got the band in August 2013, but I can eat just about anything. With the exception of thick break and pork. I don't really see the need for me to start all over after the preganancy. Is there anything else that I should be concerned about?

  4. There is probably still some swelling if you just got a fill on Monday. They say take it easy for a couple of days but I usually need about a week.
  5. Im not sure when she had it done. She is being kind of vague. I know that she got it over 6yrs ago.
  6. I know the person personally, so I know its true. How it happened is what concerns me. I know that she wasn't following the rules and not seeing her doc regularly. She was having trouble with her stomach and they eventually found out that the band is breaking up in her stomach causing her to be sick. I am just not sure how much she is actually telling. I was banded on 8-21-13. I was just wondering how common it is. Im definitely going to ask my dr about it. I understand what yall are saying too.
  7. Has anyone ever heard of a band corroding to the point where it starts to crumble in the stomach. i just heard that it happend to someone and it makes me anxious. I'm not sure how often it occurs or why? The person had to have major surgery to make sure that everything was removed.

  11. Can anyone recommend a good scale? I have a welby digital that is not accurate. It changes by the minute, even with new batteries.

  14. Is salad considered a slider? I can eat a lot without getting full. I don't use a lot of dressing.
  15. Thank you very much for the info. I just had my 2nd fill and was wondering about #1 and 2. I thought maybe something was wrong with me. Thanks again.
  16. My surgeon requires that we document our weights weekly. However, he stresses that if you can't resist getting on the scale daily then you need to put it up out of sight. My weight chart determines what he is going to do as far as fills and compilance with the band.

  22. I had my second fill yesterday and I can really tell the difference. Hopefully you will see an improvement with you next fill also. My surgeons says the the first fill gets you in the neighborhood, second fill on the street, and by the third fill you will be home. In other words it is a gradual process.
  23. I'm having the same problem. I was banded on 8/21/13. Protein or not I'm not feeling any difference.
  24. Chili is off limits period. He said that soups , shakes, and chili go straight through and don't allow your pouch to fill.
  25. Every surgeon is indeed different. We are not allowed soup, chili, protein shakes or anything that requires a spoon. No stipulations on bread though.

  27. My scale does the same thing. I was told that when it does that it needs new batteries.I haven't tried it yet though.
