  1. I have PTSD anxiety and depression and was approved. You should try some other practice or perhaps you have a psychiatrist already that you work with who knows you are stable? Maybe ask for a letter of recommendation to submit to the mental health physician at the current practice you are at. Stability is what I was told is the key. You may have been just a default denial from a lazy shrink.....of course I am assuming a lot.....but try again.
  2. Maybe you can make egg salad with deviled egg ingredients? If you are eating boiled eggs anyways I cant imagine how much harm it could be. If you are out maybe chop the white part up really small first.
  3. There is nothing wrong with you wanting some praise for the hard work you have put in. I don't consider that hypocrisy, wanting positive reinforcement as opposed to not wanting to be called out on your weight when you are obviously suffering and aware of the situation. Totally different. However, it is wonderful that you have found happiness and peace combined with non-scale victories to motivate and reward yourself also. I personally fear amusement park rides myself, and hopefully that will change in the near future! Good job and good luck!
  4. I had an hernia repair on the lower right groin area with a mesh. Years later I had a lapband and 3 days ago I got sleeved. No issues. Good luck!
  5. Genepro is a tasteless protein powder that mixes into anything for 30 grams of protein in one tablespoon full. Add the powder into a small beverage twice a day and you will hit the protein mark. For hot liquids, dissolve and mix it in cold before heating or its clumpy.
  6. I was told 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks mushy/pureed food
  7. Essential items I had and used: CHAPSTICK....sooo dry, biotene mouthwash to help with dry mouth, a comfortable pillow from home, a small soft blanket from home, phone charger with long cord, gasX melting strips, baby wipes.
  8. Let her sleep!!! In any way you can help with her household chores or cooking for family or doing errands. I am wiped out exhausted and have significant pain from stomach to back. Maybe a back rub?.....I don't know how touchy feely you two are but my husband has helped me tremendously by gently massaging my back while I wait for pain meds to kick in. Oh, also, unless she is trying to eat a burger post op or go skydiving, dont pretend to be her doctor and micromanage what she does. Be helpful, not condescending.
  9. Ok, here is a gloom doom scenario for you. A lady had emergency C-section in California and was fine but about a month later drove to Idaho to be with family. Survived the drive but as she walked upstairs to second floor of house, collapsed and died from blood clot (pulmonary embolism) I am no doctor but I wouldn't travel until Dr. Cleared me 100%. I also wear compression thigh high "socks" while I sleep and try to walk around every hour or so. Be safe!
  10. Might be yeast infection (candidiasis of breast) Use lotramin or tinactin cream (athletes foot cream) to kill fungi.
  11. Not sure why they would attempt multiple surgeries. I had hernia repair, sleeve, and lapband removal all at once. Don't get the surgery if you are not really sure yet. It's permanent and in the beginning especially can be fatal if you don't commit to all of the rules.
  12. Thanks! It feels so weird but it's comforting to know others have gone through it.
  13. Not a yogurt answer, but if you freeze a cup of pudding its like gelato/heaven.....to me!
  14. Ok, all I have had is liquids like water, broth, cream soup (strained) etc. I was sleeved March 17th. No major issues as far as I can tell but when I swallow liquids it hurts my stomach. Mostly when its ice cold but a little with all temperatures. I have read that lots of people feel this but what I would like to know is when it stops? Does it even out? Its not an acid feeling but like a sharp stab. Thank you in advance.
  15. I had a hiatl hernia repair at the same time so I am just saying hernia repair to people who I don't want to tell.
  16. Thanks! My doctor said the same things. I have benefiber and milk of magnesia just in case. Proud2, you're hilarious. Omg, calf???
  17. My team said its not constipation unless it lasts 5 or more days. Since you are having them though, its probably just the small amount of food you are digesting.
  18. Amazing will power on your part! Good job!
  19. You should call your doctor or team and see if you are really Ok or if there are symptoms that you should look out for now that your staples might be "clogged?" Hope all is well with you!
  20. I will say a prayer for you. You should tell your husband that you CANT rewind time. So he needs to support you and your kids with how things are now. Not having a little tantrum because he didn't get his way. Good luck to you and take care of yourself. Do not jeopardize your health and life by overexursion.
  21. Powdered Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning packet, Peanut Butter, spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese, honey, jelly, roasted garlic (mashed up) with garlic salt, use as mayonnaise substitute with tuna or canned chicken
  22. My surgeon said not to worry about any vitamins the first 2 weeks, just hydration and protein shakes. I was told to wait a minimum of a month for any hard tablet pills and to crush them first.
  23. I got sleeved Friday and have had diarrhea ever since. Is this normal? I thought I would be constipated as per the general information I researched and others have posted. I don't get it. Only water and protein shakes since surgery.
  24. Ok, I was supposed to be sleeved in December, then in February THEN in March.....I couldn't seem to not be sick on my surgery days.....but now, March 17th, 2017 I will be sleeved!!!! Wish me luck and say a prayer please!
