  1. When is it safe to eat popcorn? I'm not asking what calories or fat etc. Just when can a sleeved stomach safely digest popcorn. Because of the hard parts etc.
  2. I started getting the ache in the roof of my mouth after being sleeved. I actually posted a question but got no replies. Glad I am not alone!
  3. Also the amount of weight loss pre op is a factor. You won't drop as much initially post op if you already dropped the water weight pre op.
  4. I was told 5-6 meals until solid food and then only 3.
  5. Mine says 60-80 as well. I'm on my 4th week post op so I don't have a lot of experience with stalls etc. I have noticed many many variations from surgeon to surgeon. Some are on liquid for a month, some eat puree on day 3. It's just best to do what you are told by your doctor. However, if you are eating extra protein within the calories guidelines I can't see how that could hurt.
  6. Do we eat 4oz of food as in fill 1/2 cup with food and eat or as in weigh 4oz on food scale? I'm sleeved btw
  7. Lol....hoping that I won't need a miracle but too soon to know.
  8. Im newly sleeved and was wondering if anyone tried to specifically build up muscles in their inner thighs or triceps....as an example.....to try to minimize sagging skin? I know genetics, starting size etc. is all a factor. I really just want a muscle building perspective on the subject please. Is it possible to target an area to build muscle?
  9. Not quite the same thing but I watch My 600lb Life every week. I don't 100% know what I get from it, but I do empathize and feel grateful I am not that far gone. Maybe it does help healing. Interesting perspective.
  10. Update, I just ate tunasalad again today and everything is good. I guess it was too early for me to eat it. Thanks everyone for the input.
  11. Im waiting for my one month check up to see my progress (so I dont freak out about the 3week stall) and after that I plan on weighing myself every Friday morning only at the gym. Got rid of the house scale. I get super obsessive about the scale and dont want to go psycho. I have enough stress right now!
  12. Count your chewing for 20 times and put the fork down in between bites.
  13. You are the best dresser! You have great style!......of course your weight loss is amazing as well, but you just look great all the time, lol.
  14. Sleep! Lol....when you have surgery you need recovery time and a support system of some sort. Make sure you get walking in 30min daily, to make sure you don't get blood clots, but you just got cut up and sewed up. Your body is tired and needs to heal. For me, I needed about one week of me time to rest and do what my body told me to.
  15. Im looking for a blender/extractor for veggies and fruit. I have heard of the Nutribullet, Ninja, Magic Bullet.....I want something that leaves no pulp leftovers and liquifies everything. Does anyone have any good suggestions for one that they have personal experience with? Not too pricey please!
  16. I think there is a sub category forum on Bariatric Pal that is about swapping clothing. I have not used it but you might get some help there.
  17. Of course patience is important, but unless you are really happy with your team you have to consider how accessible they may be post op. If you have a serious problem will they have time for you? Just my 2cents
  18. Ok, I am taking Zoloft because my other medication was dangerous for my pregnancy. I am weaning my daughter from nursing now and ready to take any medicine required. Now, I am freaking out about reading that Zoloft causes weight gain. Is it that it makes you eat more or store more of what your eating?? I also have PCOS, not that it is really specific to Zoloft questions but I saw another poster that was really similar to my situation.
  19. I would like to try the avocado mayonnaise. I will wait until next week to try any mayo again though. The sweaty, uncomfortable bathroom trips were enough to scare me pretty good lol. I did make it myself and REALLY dislike Miracle Whip, but if I had used it that would make a lot of sense! Thanks for the feedback everyone.
  20. I was told its not technically constipation until you hit 5 days.....however really make sure you get your liquids in, obviously. Benefiber and Metamucil were what my doctor recommended when I was concerned.
  21. After my surgery I was told not to take any nonessential medicine for 2 weeks and then grind up the tablets and empty out the gel capsules and take with applesauce or a drink. I was also told not even to bother taking Vitamins for the first 2 weeks. I have to grind meds for 1month and break them up after that until Im on solid foods. Hope this helps!
  22. I had pain the 1st day but it tapered off fast. The best tip I can give is be HYDRATED. Drink as much water as you can until you aren't allowed to drink or eat....probably midnight. My mouth was sooooo dry from drugs. Bring lip balm and a comfy pillow. Ask for ice chips asap. Good luck!
