  1. How sad for the family. I hope this post helps people making decisions about where they have their surgery in Tijuana.
  2. I'm 1 month out, sleeved and have PCOS. So far I lost 30 pounds post op total. I don't have a lot of experience to report, but I am losing weight [emoji4]
  3. My revision to the sleeve and a hiatal hernia repair were all done the same day.
  4. My official weight loss for one month sleeve post op is 30lbs! I hope that I can keep losing around 10lbs per month now for at least a little bit. Happy!
  5. My revision to the sleeve and a hiatal hernia repair were all done the same day. No issues yet.
  6. Why can't people just answer the question the original posters ask? I'm not asking for your thoughts on life when I post something, I'm asking the question I'm asking. So many keyboard warriors out there trying to wag their fingers at people. [emoji55]
  7. I haven't heard of Pamela's but I do love turkey chili....or any white chili also. Mmmmmm
  8. I'm going to get a back/shoulder/neck piece of a tree with butterflies to represent all of my family. Gonna decorate the tree with rosaries, army dogtags etc to symbolize different family members. I like jewlery, lol and I love my nosering and 11 earrings too.
  9. Oh God! Can I come over!!!! Lol yummy!
  10. Everyone has a PHD in fat here. Some people are just know it all's because they read the handouts the surgeon gave them lol. I regularly roll my eyes and bite my tongue but there are enough positive posts with good or at least interesting information to keep on this site. However, peeps? Ewwwwww!
  11. I was revised to the sleeve about a month ago. Got banded 2009. I immediately have noticed a tremendous difference between the two. I have immediately began losing weight. You literally can't hardly eat and don't really want to......AFTER THE POST OP liquids PHASE OF STARVATION HELL.........but that's only about 2 weeks. As soon as you hit puree or soft foods it is crazy how little fills you up. With the band you had to guess if you were in the green zone and get 50 adjustments just to hopefully get full. The sleeve IS the green zone. So much easier and you're not a slave to those damn fill appointments. Soooo much better. Oh, if you eat too much or too fast you can get sick and feel a little "stuck" but not like you are being strangled by your food like the band. Others have thrown up....not me....and you CAN get dumping syndrome if you eat something too fatty or sweet. I have experienced that a couple of times. Sweaty, flushed, rapid heartbeat, nausea, diarrhea. No fun. But that's rare and STILL better than fearing each bite will choke you and slime. This is just what I have experienced so far. Hope it was useful to you.
  12. Ok, if you take out the modern Atkins premade foods etc, is the concept the same as the original Atkins diet? It sounds like phase one of the Atkins diet, like permanently though. I don't really intend on doing either....though back in the day I did do Atkins and lost 20lbs when I only needed to lose 30lbs total....ahhh to be young again.....I personally would go crazy if I had to stick to a super restrictive diet forever however I am planning on keeping my carbs in check.
  13. Hydrate a LOT a couple days prior
  14. Brushing? To give my brush something to do when all my hair falls out lol....jk
  15. Thanks everyone. Just went to movie with kids and was wondering when I could have popcorn again. There is no way I would even attempt it right now....I don't like popcorn THAT much lol. Thanks for the feedback.
  16. My lapband doctor was crap. Little to no prep, advice, handouts or even team members besides an appointment scheduler. Just a self righteous a*****e getting paid..... Milton Owens Chapman Medical Center in Orange CA......btw.....8 years later and I am sleeved. Yay! With a great thorough and supportive surgeon and team.....Dr Misra, Marina Del Rey Hospital.
  17. God bless everyone on this thread. There are so many heartbreaking stories. Sending prayers to help you and your loved ones heal. I just don't know what to say. ?
  18. Omg! What is a complete gastrectomy?? I feel so bad for you. When did you feel like something was wrong or what did it feel like? I got sleeved almost a month ago.
  19. Christina.Rose replied to Redmaxx's topic in The Lounge
    Love it
  20. Is Keto basically a new age name for the Atkins diet? It sounds awfully familiar, high fat low carb, body in ketosis.....
  21. I was on full liquids 2 weeks, puree 2 weeks, and soft meat (i.e. moist chicken) week 5. Just depending on the surgeons orders. Some people have IMO sadistic doctors who say liquids for a whole month before puree and others are cleared to eat puree day 3. I have the same concern as you, I believe though. I wonder how I can drink without nausea or eat without pain etc. Why are others having so many issues? Idk. But I do get full fast and it lasts a long time so maybe we are lucky? Listen to your doctor. Everyone's different.
  22. Talk to your doctor. There may be particles left in your staple line that can cause leaks and be very dangerous. It's not cheating post op, it's physically dangerous for your health.
  23. When I get to Onederland I'm getting a tattoo [emoji41]
  24. I have never had a protein bar that didn't leave that disgusting after taste. I agree with you 100%. Unless I'm trapped inside a giant protein bar and would die otherwise I will not eat them. Gross
