    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

I lost 110 lbs, but have put back 10 due to careless binge eating of sliders. I am re-addicted to sugar and it's making me slowly put weight back on. I need to get myself back under control and include more protein. In more positive news, I am a runner now and have a 10K coming up. I'm so excited!!

What do YOU order at Starbucks?

Egg white egg bites! I don't like coffee.

    Cravings

I was having a severe craving for chips these last two weeks. I felt like I couldn't control myself. I am coming to the conclusion that I was dehydrated and was craving salt. So I upped my water and today I was at least able to get through the day without caving to them. How's your water intake?

    Taking Charge! C25K day 1!

@GettinSkinnywith @looly @blackcatsandbaddecisions Wondering if you are still running? How's it going?
  5. I just signed up for my first 5K race (on Mother's Day!) and suddenly I'm so emotional that I'm shaking. I've done several 5Ks in the past, both before and after my lapband in 2013 (lost 95 lbs, got pg then gained it all back plus more), but I just can't believe I'm back and going to be able to do this again! I'm in tears thinking about how much I've changed in the past year (sleeved on 3/26/21), and I'm so proud that I'm bursting. I'm half way through week 4 of Couch to 5K and things are going awesomely. I'm scared too, though, because I have fears that I'll tear something or get injured. And anyone who did C25K before knows the dreaded 20 min run is next week. I'm trying to be super careful and methodical about my stretching before and after training so I can continue running. It makes me feel invincible.
  6. Dang it! I've given up sodas and margaritas!! No problem hijacking the thread. It's nice to have some friendly banter. I hope my body is not decided it's done losing. I'm like 2 lbs from Onderland. I'd be happy with another 15 lb loss. I could be at peace there I think. I see my doctor in another 2 weeks for the one year visit. I'll ask him. He'll tell me it's head hunger, I bet. Prob is. Thanks, everyone!
  7. Thank you for that suggestion. I do occasionally indulge--I like the taco flavored ones. However, I am recently trying to avoid those too because they are a trigger food for me to want to binge other slider foods. This is just clear proof that whoever says bariatric surgery is the "easy way out" sure is a big fat liar! LMAO

    Surgeon vs Nutritionist

Update please! @Lela Clark You are going to find out what works for you. Both of them are right in some ways, and not in others. You'll find your groove. I suggest journaling or at the very least keeping a real food diary so when you stall (and you will, it's just natural) you can go back and reflect on what worked well and what didn't. My nutritionist says 3 meals and 2 snacks (a shake included as a snack or meal), 1000-1200 calories, 60-80 gm protein (doc told me go to 100), and less than 100 carbs. It's working pretty well for me (when I follow it!).

    Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

My nutritionist said Hard Pass. Too much sugar in the fruit and veg, even if you got it with whey mixed in. Besides, the drinks are huge, even pre-surgery. You're better off making your own controlled smoothies at home. Here's a video link to a bariatric surgeon making a smoothie

    Favorite products

I am approaching a year out and I suggest that you don't buy a lot of anything. It's a bad habit I got myself into. Yes, you want to be prepared, but I am exiting a two month stall because of my newly formed addiction to Quest products (damn, they're awesome!). Instead, I recommend you learn to menu plan and gain a dependency on fresh foods, not pre-packaged items if that is at all possible. Lean meat, fish, and veggies are the way to win, not relying on packaged, processed food. Like others have said above, your tastes will likely change, or you stomach will. On my pre-op diet I looked forward to my chocolate Fairlife shake. Now they taste awful to me and cause unbelievable gas.

    Need a motivation re-start!!!

I can't agree that you are a slow loser. Your progress is amazing! Did you break out of your rut? How's it going now?
  12. For some reason I've been craving thick cut salted potato chips. I HATED these before surgery and they would NEVER be a choice I'd want. Why then am I craving them now, a year after surgery? Before surgery I would have been craving donuts, bread, chocolate, sugar, but now all I can think about is those damn potato chips, and have even given in to the urge, just to shut it up, but it didn't stop yet. I haven't had this big of a craving since I was pregnant and just HAD to have Indian food. Does my body need the salt or something? Why am I craving a food I previously hated?
  13. I wear Under Armour almost all the time now under my clothes. It works well and now that my clothes are looser, there's plenty of room for them.
