HotButterFly got a reaction from Bandista in Do You Have A Name For The Process?
Many of us have names for our bands/ports (my band is GingerSnaps) because that beeeetch would quickly snap me into shape if I try to deviate. LoL.
I'm wondering if anyone has a name for the process of getting a fill? (If not, it's time you get one)
    I call mine: "getting baptized"
"Tomorrow I'm leaving early. I'm getting baptized"
"I'm soooo glad I got baptized last week, I've already lost three pounds!"
    GO!

If you wanna give eggs another GO, try a splash of heavy cream, that makes them moist (AND DON'T OVER COOK THEM!!!). While cooking, constantly move the eggs around so that they cook like crumbs, as opposed to "omelet" style.
You would think that things like eggs & tuna fish would be easy foods to pass, but I have to be super careful when I eat those two.
Also, it's true what they said above... Sounds like its too soon for solids. Welcome to the BANDid side, where EVERYDAY is a learning experience

I woke up this morning and weighed 199.2. I am so happy to see that number, it has been over 7 1/2 years. I couldn't wait to share it with everyone. Have a great Thursday everyone!

    Hey Wendy,
Any chance you could phone your dr's office and request a call back from the physician? Perhaps if you were to calmly explain your situation, he/ she would at least make a one time exception until both your schedules can be adjusted?
Unfortunately, the doctor is sometimes the last one to know there is a problem in the office. Good luck, it sounds like you have had enough stress to deal with.

Why did they do a fill if you were losing two pounds a week?
I'd call their office and discuss it with the staff. Did they use a fluoroscope to verify the fill?

The Red Dress Run is an annual 5K BAR HOPPING "RUN" through the French Quarter, where everyone, including the men, wear RED DRESSES. The older and funkier the dresses, the better. Lots of alcohol, but that's par for the course when you live in THE BIG EASY!!!!!!!!! I bought a CUTE red summer dress bc I intend to wear it again. My husband's dress is a THRIFT STORE MARKDOWN. LOL

HotButterFly got a reaction from labwalker in I feel gulity because i will be banded in November and i have not changed my eating habits.
Sweet heart, tell us something we DON'T know. I promise you it DOES get better. It's EXACTLY how 2much put it up there ^^^^
If it was easy to control ourselves, we wouldn't be obese. In my opinion, the fact that you DO notice is an improvement because when we get to the point of obesity, is like we eat mindlessly. At least you're well aware of what you're doing. I'm confident you'll get a hold of it.
Maybe start with ONE habit at a time, you still have a few months to prepare. Good luck!!

I quit counting calories about 3 months after surgery....been in the green zone since 5-6 months after surgery....
My approach is, and has been, to eat normally, just a lot less than before surgery. And of course there are foods I will never be able to eat again with the band......and since I eat so little I make the best of what I do eat by choosing the best, nutritional foods I can, with Protein first on my mind....
And I am not afraid to enjoy things dieters would never dream of eating....or drinking.

HotButterFly reacted to Bufflehead in First day at the gym and I passed out!
I am going to go against the grain here and say that passing out is a potentially serious problem. I think you should get seen by your PCP to explore possible issues from low blood sugar to orthostatic hypotension (and likely a bunch of others I know nothing about, since I'm not your health care provider), rather than seeking diet advice from strangers on the internet or random athletic trainers at the gym.

HotButterFly reacted to B-52 in Do You Think People Treat You Differently Since You've Lost Weight?
I have stopped loosing for almost 3 years now, and I can tell you it is an entirely different social structure now in more ways I can even mention....
Plus, I feel one gets back what one gives...so being slim, fit and healthy boosts ones own self confidence, self image, and overall vigor....making me more open, forward and friendly to strangers or people I first meet....I'll strike up conversations with just about anyone, anywhere, and any age.....
So it works both ways. I'm 62 years old and I am enjoying life now more that I have in I don't know how long.
Wish I had done this a long time ago....
People who knew me before when I was fat, have long forgotten and don't talk about it anymore...it is old news and I am accepted the way I am now naturally....and people I newly meet do not know I was ever obese....
This surgery had done so much in so many different ways...it's incredible!

No, not really. But I think I treat myself differently ... And I am much more confident and sociable, so I do notice more positive interactions in that way!
