  1. I hate to state the obvious, but please slow down and take breaks between bites and stick to band-friendly portions.
  2. My loving husband was not on board at first... Then, when we watched a few informative videos on YouTube (mostly doctors talking about the surgery- and some banded ppl) he started to warm up to the idea and then was fully supportive. Sometimes they are just expressing their fears because of ignorance, you know how most men are.... Emotional dinosaurs!! LoL If you help him becomes more informed, so he could understand its not the "easy way out", and you put his fears at ease, I don't see WHY he wouldn't support you. And if he doesn't support you, that's more of a reason to succeed. Good luck, and we are here for your benefit AND support
  3. LMFAO!! I didn't notice that... And did the website post?? If not, tell me so I can paste if again.
  4. Another victory to talk about today...... I'm able to sleep with just ONE pillow. I still go to sleep with two pillows, out of habit I guess, put I quickly chuck one on them aside.
  5. It's a big girl (beautiful, BTW) dressed as the video game/movie character Lara Croft Tomb Raider. She posted her picture, it went viral, and people were being so cruel in their comments. She's a great writer and she sound just all-around AWESOME. Sorry you couldn't see it.
  6. Queen of Mississippi, (LoL) why are you worried about her, if I may ask?
  7. I wouldn't go as far as wanting my band removed- because I love him so much, but I would never adjust it to a point where I wouldn't be able to enjoy my steaks, chicken & ribs.
  8. If I have a good Breakfast, and by good I mean a dense Protein, I won't be hungry for close to 5 hours. On these days I usually only have two meals and a snack of nuts or a cold cut roll. I could never really see myself having 3 full meals ever again in my LIFE. Thank you, gastric band!
  9. I would have LooooVed this thread if it was about FROZEN greek yogurt. LoL
  10. Eating the Atkins way after WLS is a great LIFESTYLE to follow, as its not a diet (IMO). You are basically eating clean.... protein, vegestables, fruit, nuts, and more importantly, NO SUGAR... this is my to-go site. Linda's recipes are AMAZING!! My favorite is Cilantro Chicken.... Except I use tilapia or basa fish.
  11. QUESTION: are you drinking WITH your food? How long after you eat do you wait before you drink??
  12. I would LOVE to have a mini meet & greet in NYC. I was also banded at NYU and have only attended a seminar conducted by Dr. Warren Huberman about how to overcome over eating last Nov.
  13. Wow!! Gosh, thanks for the warning.
  14. Like Leepers, I use the number on of my first visit... It is, in fact, my heaviest EVER.
  15. But you've lost 35 in three months.
  16. HEEEELP!! I signed up at my neighborhood Planet Fitness THREE WEEKS ago but I have not gone in yet. I'm so afraid to look out-of-place and I have NO idea how to begin a workout regimen. I'll be lost!!
  17. Some insurance companies DO cover reconstructive breast surgery. Look into it.
  18. You look amazing and that size fits you well. Congrats on all your hard work.
  19. And I of YOU... I mean, look how beautiful you are. We are always our worse critics. But don't beat yourself up that bad.... Things will get better. I promise! BURN IT!
  20. I'd say!!! See, that's a man that LISTENS
  21. "Pie hole" that phrase always makes me chuckle.
