  1. Hello, I had a revision surgery a year ago. The only way I got through the liquid diet was hot beverages. Hot tea and decaf coffee. Sweetened with calorie free sweetener and if I wanted creamer I used fat free half and half with sugar free/calorie free flavored syrups. They curbed my hunger and still do. Same for hot soup and broth. I drank it as hot as I could stand. I tried to also keep myself full off water. The key is to make sure you try to stay ahead of your hunger with the approved options. Try to consume something every 2-3 hours.
  2. Hello everyone, I had surgery on 7/16 and was fine up until week 3.5 to week 4. I wasn’t able to get my water in or food down without throwing up. So I called my surgeons office and went it. Where my lapband was had become extremely tight and was not allowing anything to go through. So I was scheduled to go in the next morning which was last Thursday to have an EGD with a ballon stretch in the area where the issue was. I now can eat about 6oz of food before I feel satiety. I am worried it was over stretched. I am not losing any weight. I am very concerned I am eating to much. It is low fat and low carb meals and of course protein first. I am still adhering to the no drinking with meals and waiting to eat 30 minutes after drinking and waiting to drink 30 minutes after eating. I am just looking for input and opinions on what I should do.
  3. Hello y’all! I just wanted to give an update on my journey so far. It has been rough. I was in the hospital 2 nights for my initial surgery. Was released on a Thursday. The following Sunday I was back in the hospital due to cellulitis in my left side but not from my incisions. I was there overnight because of the cellulitis and dehydration. I was released the next day. I was working of fluids and was fine but got very little in when it came to anything but water. I thought it was normal. I was getting in 32-48oz of water and the nutritionist said that was good for only being 2.5 weeks post op but to keep working on it. Week 3 rolls around and I am having a hard time getting food in and I start having sliming episodes (lapbanders y’all know what I mean). Then it progressed to throwing up the little bit of soft/purées foods I was getting in. Then it progressed to me only getting i16-24o of water in a day and throwing that up. I was having what felt like stuck episodes. So I called my surgeons office and went in and saw one of the partnering surgeons and he did a swallow test. I told him before the swallow test that it feels like the area the band was placed is what I think is causing the issue. Sure enough it was. It was so tight that they scheduled me for a EGD with dilation for this morning. It may take several dilations to fix the issue but it felt so good to drink and eat something without feeling like I have a huge golf ball in my esophagus and stomach and then throwing up and aiming for literal hours. Night before last I ate about 1.5 tablespoons of food and slimed and threw up from around 10 p.m.-7:30a.m.. I was over it and knew for sure there was an issue. I didn’t sleep because I was throwing up slime balls every 15-20 minutes. ow to work on hydration and resting. I am very fatigued and weak. I got this. And even with these complications I would do it again. I went from 247 the day I started my preop diet to 232.2 day of surgery and today I weighed in at 215.8. Slower than some but still thankful and blessed.
  4. I was just watching a YouTube who had done a lot of research and she found a website where they fight for the revisions and surgeries to be approved after they are denied. They work and get you approved. Might be something to look into. The website is www.wlsappeals.com and it is called Lindstrom Obesity Advocacy.

    Tummy pain

Thank y’all, I am following my plan to a t. 1st week was clear liquids, 2nd week is full liquids including yogurt, and pudding. Sf and FF on all of it. I just can’t stomach anything but the Gatorade and water.

    Tummy pain

Hey y’all! I am 1 week and 1 day post surgery. It was a lapband to bypass revision and I literally cannot stomach anything but water and some Gatorade zero. My tiny tummy and bowels are still hurting and I feel like I may never be able to consume food again. I know it’s part of the process and feeling bummed or depressed about food is very common but I just want to see if the stomach and bowel pain is common. I have no issues going to the restroom because it is straight liquid. I was back in the hospital Sunday into Monday because I ended up with cellulitis in my left side. Any insight would be appreciated.

    FOOD SUGGESTIONS

Try taking fat free refried beans and thinning it out to a soup like consistency with beef or chicken broth and add a little taco seasoning. It really helped me.

    7 day post-op ?

Not at all, maybe try the sugar free pudding cup with unflavored protein powder mixed in to try and keep your protein intake up.

    Acid reflux

Be careful, I had reflux for about 2 months and ended up having esophigitis. They had to take all of the fluid out of my band for 6 weeks. My reflux came out of nowhere.

    Need some motivation

I was banded 7/23/13 and got down to 172 last year back up to 188 as of this morning. I saw 190 yesterday morning and decided the only way to lose the weight and get to my goal is to put in the work. I can't blame my band because it's my hand that puts the food in my mouth. Journaling all food with my fitness pal. I am doing this for me. I would live to share this back on track journey with others in the same boat as me.

Ladies I have been BUSY! I have been on "vacation" from one job since Tuesday. Because I took time off but wasn't able to do what I had planned I took my normal Tuesday/Wednesday off and have worked doubles at Chilis. 20,000 steps yesterday! 1014 cals. Hopefully the scale will move! I work today too but then I have the next 3 days off.

Ladies I am doing good 100 plus ounces of water each day and keeping my calories at 1000 or less. I am also getting back in to running/jogging/speed walking. I used to do 4 miles a day. My knee and back won't let me so I am doing 2 miles. I am only 27 and really trying to lose this last 35-40 lbs to get me to 150. I am already having a hard time finding shirts that fit my rib cage and shoulders. Hopefully I will lose some weight there. Food is planned for the day and I have my water ready for the day too! I won't get off work tonight until 12:30 and it is barely 11:00. Long day ahead and the next 2 are even longer! Wish me luck!!

Down 2 lbs and getting in at least 100oz water a day. Really working on protein and types of foods going in my mouth. I am getting in at least 10,000 steps and usually get in about 13,000.
