Ha! Thanks for the hilarious story Congrats on your 2+ miles...and for not letting that butterfly defeat you!
Thanks, I refuse to be intimidated by a butterfly! Do you think pepper spray would work on a butterfly? :-P

I LOVE pickled green beans. The recipe I use is from the Ball Canning Blue Book. It's called Dilly Beans, and if you look it up you're sure to find many tasty recipes. Traditionally, Dilly Beans have cayenne pepper, garlic, and dill. Yummy.
I did a google search and found several recipes. I liked one with red pepper. My mom likes hot stuff too, so I forwarded the recipe on to her. Hopefully, we can put up some spicy pickled green beans when I visit on Sunday.

I actually love green beans. I really like them pickled and with smoked ham.
Never heard of doing that. Can you direct me to a recipe? I'm sure my mom would love to try pickling them.

I'm eating some of this right now for mid morning snack! It's actually really good.
See, I wasn't kidding when I said it was like eating little bites of heaven. :-)

..But this post is WORTHLESS without a picture! Put up or shut up
Sorry, but I don't want to wind up on internet, like the guy in pic I used in this post! :-P
If I am going to have embarrassing photos of me on the web, it's gonna be a photo of me going commando while getting out of a low slung sports car. Yeah Baby!

A co-worker came was leaving work one day (changes to scrubs at work) and mentioned he didn't know where his wife picked them up but he really liked the jeans he found in the closet. Thought they were for him. We saw the LB on the label and said, yeah those are from Lane Bryant:) He still liked them!
Excellent! Now I don't feel so alone.

Just remember that they zip on the opposite side!
Silly me, here I was thinking the zipper thing was a new fad in jeans!

This is very inspiring to me. I also have terrible knee and leg pain, and I limp badly. My surgeon told me I must start walking, and so I am doing the best I can. I often feel like my pathetic gimping along is not effective at all, except in the sense of making me hurt a lot. However, I have just begun to notice that it is getting ever so slightly easier...at least it seems like it. I have been wondering if I am really seeing improvement, or if I'm just imagining it. Your post has renewed my hope that it will get better, and that I CAN do it. I don't have any thoughts of running or rock climbing or anything like that, but I sure would like to believe that one day I might walk even 5K steps in a day. I do believe it's time for me to buy a pedometer!
I am glad to be of some help. We all go through a lot of things without realizing that there is probably a lot of people experiencing something similar and not realizing we all have common issues. So I try to share my experiences in a humorous way and let everyone know that they are not alone in this...ummm..
No! I refuse to use that word! trek? No., odyssey? No., safari? No., migration? No., expedition? No. Oh, man I hate this word, but there just doesn't seem to be an adequate adjective to describe the process? No., we are going through.
Ok, just this once I'll say it - So I try to share my experiences in a humerus way and let everyone know that they are not alone in this...journey.
Oh, God! I think I felt something important break inside me.
P.S. If anyone knows a different, suitable word I can use to replace "journey", please let me know.
I think we should band (or sleeve) together and lobby Congress to banish "journey" from the English language and officially replace it with the new word. Or maybe not, we'd probably just run the new word into the ground sooner or later.

No, you are definitely not alone. I too am a slow loser - and worse, I magically gain back a few pounds without even trying. But overall, the scale slowly moves down. I try to be satisfied with that.
I think we don't hear more about slow losers because it's not really as exciting as those lucky enough to be dropping 20+ pounds per month. But I do think we are the majority.

Milk of Magnesia did it for me! 2 - 3 tablespoons full and lots of liquids. In about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, it was GO TIME! No cramps or feeling like it was an emergency, just that little feeling of, "you need to get to the bathroom soon." :-P

I never felt guilty about eating post-sleeve. But I did feel scared. I was afraid I'd eat too much and stretch out my sleeve and sabotage myself.
As far as feeling hungry goes, if you are like me, pasta triggers my hunger. If there were noodles in the chicken soup, I know that the noodles would make me hungrier, the more I ate and after a couple of hours, I'd have a carb crash and be hungry again.
But when I was only 1 week out, I wasn't allowed anything but full liquids - like protein shakes and chicken broth or creamy soups with no solid particles.

I didn't know that there was a Margarita flavored Crystal Light. I'll have to check it out. I never found a chicken broth better than the Chunky Soup Heart Healthy Chicken Noodle flavor. I had to strain out the noodles and the chicken, but it was good. Good luck.

I really hope you are in some form of entertainment business!! Kudos for making me look like a fool at 8am in the work place due to uncontrollable bursts of laughter. (I'm suppose to be working not reading posts about poo!!)
You think you have it bad at work? Here I am at work, reading the comments on a story about poo! Thanks for the feedback.

Enjoyed the chuckle this AM. Thanks for sharing your humor about this topic.

I hope your occupation is writing so a very large group can enjoy your talents as we all do here. Thanks!
Thanks, but I don't have a lot to write about. It's hard for me to make up funny stuff, but if it really happens to me, I can write about it and try to put a funny twist on it.

You ARE obsessed with this topic. But you explain it so hilariously, I don't mind.
MOM is my friend as well. I'm glad it helped clear you out like you've been wanting!
Thanks for your comment.
Well, to be completely honest, I'm not obsessed with the topic. I just have a boring life, this really happened to me, and I find poo funny. I had to write this post because it was my duty and it was a BIG duty! :-)

LMAO! Funny cuz it's true! The big C has was far and away my most challenging aspect of life in the month after being sleeved. There were times it was not pretty, not fun and hurt like a son of a gun! Tears, swear words I didn't know I knew!
MOM has it place and yes, it tastes nasty as sin but sometimes a sleever has to do what a sleever has to do.
Good luck to you, hope everything comes out in the end! :-)
Thank you. I got it all worked out. It was a big load off my mind. :-P

OMG, that's funny!
Thank you.

You are hilarious! There were so many lines that I had to read out loud to my husband that I finally just gave up and had him read the whole thing! hahaha I think it's fantastic and I'm not usually one for "potty humor" but this had me rolling! hahaha Great job!!
Thank you. I tried not to get into TMI but still be funny.

LMAO sooooook funny!
You are awesome!
I love reading your posts!
Thanks for the compliment.

As for "drowning" most CPAPs have settings for how much moisture it uses and puts into the "air" it sends into your nose....when I got mine, my whole face and pillow got wet....I learned really fast how to turn the moisture down....I can even go several days without the water chamber....but eventually the inside of my noise gets sore so I have to use it at least once in a while. I have found I cannot even take a nap or doze off without it now because I am so used to it.
I hadn't though of the moisture angle. I initially assumed she meant the feeling of breathing in and it feeling like you're not getting any air. When I first put my mask on, if the unit is off, and I breath in, it feels like I have a plastic bag over my head. I suck in, but no air. It is a scary feeling if you're not expecting it. I yanked my mask off the 1st time it happened to me.

Most definitely! I'll be getting out and about as my feet allow. I've been cooped up in the house for the past 4 years. I'm ready to get out and live a little.
