ricangurl got a reaction from Ann Doss-Bright in 5 wks and 1 day post op
5 weeks post op and I'm down 30 lbs. feeling so great. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time. I could only do 20 mins but I pushed myself to do the best 20 mins I could in that bike. I did mountain climbing. Today I did 23 mins in the elliptical and I'm feeling great. Any other success stories out there.

Are you counting calories and keeping your meals to band sized portions?

The post op diet has absolutely nothing to do with weight loss. It's about healing.
By cheating on your doctor's post op diet, you are putting yourself at risk for very seriously complications. Your stomach has had a silicone band literally sewn into it. It needs time to heal and by eating pizza and burgers when you're supposed to be on liquids and mushies you are just begging for a ripped suture and damage to your stomach.
No offense, but why would you eat pizza and burgers so soon anyway? Totally unhealthy and totally counter-productive to weight loss.

concentrate on healing.. like tmf says it's not sweat right now not getting Protein in... you will be able to get Protein Drinks in soon.. you can always add protein to your Water if necessary... rest, drink and don't over do...

Go in at 10 and I must say I'm really nervous. I've lost 14 lbs on my pre op diet but I must be honest I cheated this Saturday. I ate a pierce of steak and then threw it away. That's was all I've eaten in 14 days. I'm very proud of my self. Excited about new life changes.

Excited for you as I go Thursday! I was on sugar busters diet since 6/17 and I never cheated bad just ate some ribs....I will pray I am ok with my liver...I lost 10 pounds but I admire everyone that has been on straight liquids. That itself proves you are ready in my eyes!!! Good luck!

Stay with it! I started a kind of pre-pre op diet 3 weeks before my actual 2 week pre op (which started 4 days ago) and the scale didn't move for almost 2 weeks. It was incredibly defeating - then finally it started to move. It will move again for you too!!!

I did not lose much of anything on my pre or post-op. It was most defeating but that is the way it happened. I got my first fill 2 weeks ago and the scale is finally moving, so I guess it takes sometime for some of us. Everyone is going to lose differently, so just because it not not moving now does not mean it won't move later just keep doing what your suppose to be doing. Good luck

Have a massive headache so off to bed but the first day wasn't really bad. I didn't feel hungry. I think my head was telling me it wanted good. But I made it. Thank you guys.

Lost two pounds yesterday. Yay this motivates to want to do better. I didn't think I could make it on 3-4 Protein Shakes, but I did and did feel hungry. Thanks for the support. This site is awesome.

Are you on myfitnesspal? It's another great way to track your calories and progress while on this journey. My username on there is westcomk.
I am on day 3 of liquid diet and it's definitely a challenge, but this forum has been such a blessing! You can do this! I know I'm my own worst enemy and that's why I'm most afraid of failure. But through determination and patience, we can all get through this together let us know how your first day goes!
