  1. You guys must be hanging out in the wrong places..who said bigger women dont get hit on?...I'm pre surgery and get more attention than my stick thin friends...honestly I wouldn't want attention from men who wouldn't give me attention now. You can't love me at my worst you sure as hell can't at my best...not that I think big is worst looks wise, just health wise. I think confidence is more where your getting attention from, you feel confident with your new body.
  2. Hey I know this is an old post but I'm 23 and a grad student. My surgery is set for may 23rd at yale and I live in simsbury
  3. Glad I found this thread even though its old. I live in Simsbury but am having my surgery at Yale since my mom works there and my insurance is through yale. My date is may 23rd...I'm 23
  4. I'm from ct ...my surgery is on May 23rd at yale..i know this is an old thread but figured id still post
  5. Looking for a buddy or mentor in CT. My surgery is May 23, 2013. I'm 23 years old, graduate student.
  6. But a lot of drs dont give a pre op diet. Mine doesnt and he doesnt have more problems than any other surgeon. He said as long as you don't gain weight thats fine.
  7. One person said 4 weeks another said 2 or 3 months i think...so 3 months would bring me into after swimming season so I was just trying to get averages
  8. I'm in CT but live 2 towns from the Massachusetts border
  9. I know this was discussed in another thread but I am curious of the average time it takes everyone's body to heal to submerge yourself in water. I know everyone is different but I was hoping to find out everyone's individual experience. I wanna buy a pool pass but not sure If it will be worth it. Surgery is may 23rd
  10. I'm preop but I'm worried about this because of memories ive had with my clothes ..I know that sounds silly but I hate to give everything away
  11. I weigh myself at the gym its a much more accurate scale then the one at home...but probably only do it once a week
  12. http://touch.groupon.com/deals/gnc-joann-etc-plaza-newington-account-1?mobile=true
  13. I dont eat fast food now and I'm preop but its not because it doesnt taste good, its more for ethical reasons and sustainable reasons (I'm getting my master's in sustainability). If it is craving the fast food you are worried about..think about how much water goes into that patty, feeding the grass, feeding the cows, etc. Think about how much oil is used to transport the meat to all the mcdonalds. Think about the video that shows KFC workers kicking their chickens. Think about all the fillers they use. I'm in no way a vegetarian but I prefer knowing where my meat came from. I'm not putting anyone down I just like to educate people about how bad fast food is (not only for your bodies but for the environment) I tell this to thin friends and family as well
  14. I'm guessing because of the rice..carbs. I was only told specifics for weeks 1-8 so far
  15. No clue why my dollar signs arent going through lol
  16. Pay $19 and get a $40 gift card
  17. I have no clue if this is just a local thing but there is a groupon going on right now for GNC..get $40 for $19. I can post the link when I get home from my computer but I'm not sure if its a CT thing or for all GNCs. Just google groupon and your city
  18. I think pre op would definetly be harder because you are running around doing your usual routine...going to work, going to the gym, etc. takes energy... however when you are recuperating you are laying around at home not working up any energy so your probably not getting hungry.
  19. ******** replied to ********'s topic in Food and Nutrition
I dont have another meeting with her til after a month post op. I will ask my surgeon when I see him next. Thank you for your feedback
  20. ******** posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
Ive only spoken to my nutritionist about the 8 weeks post op and caffeine is a no no. Will I ever be able to drink caffeinated coffee? I'm not someone who needs it but I dont understand the point of decaf, coffee is supposed to wake you up right?
  21. I dont have a preop diet..my dr doesnt do them, he just says you can't gain weight before surgery
