Hey everyone :) I had my first post op appointment yesterday. My surgery was Monday April 29 and in three weeks I've lost 25 lbs. I'm beyond excited and feeling motivated! My nurse practitioner thought my idea of not having a scale at home was great. Does anyone else just wait until they are weighed at the doctors office?

I think that's the healthier way to go - lots of people become addicted to that scale and getting on it every single day is not an accurate measure of weight loss because your weight will fluctuate. It's normal to go up and down each day - but if you go once a week or every 2 weeks, that's a more accurate way to see the big picture on if you're gaining or losing.

THAT SAID - I did buy a scale at costco a few weeks ago because it was on a really good sale! lol

but I've stuck by the "weigh no more than once a week rule" and so far, so good!

I weigh and measure every two weeks.

If I don't see the stall, it never happened. :-D

So far I've been weighing myself at home once a week, but I rely on my doctor's scale for accuracy.

I'm confused....

Sx was on April 29th, today is May 8th that's only 9 days - not 3 weeks.

Is my math wrong? I'm just confused. I am sorry if I read your post wrong. I'm trying to figure out what is typical for 1 week POST OP weight loss only, not the PRE op stuff too.

Perhaps they're including preop diet?

I weigh every morning after using the bathroom and before taking a shower. I track everything I eat and drink and want to know when I'm stalled. I review my food choices make changes, increase cardio and have even reverted back to a full clear liquid diet for two days ring shock my body. I feel I need to know. I feel knowing is power and I will be able ring make better decisions. I do have to say that I only record my eight once a week. This helps if there is any fluctuation (1x) and stalls (2x). Also, this is what's good for ME, MYSELF, and I....maybe not everyone

I would make myself crazy. I would end up obsessing. Fixating. It would become my new addiction.

To each their own, yes?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
