My story...wow, this makes it seem real. Okay, here we go... I was a chunky baby and kid. As a teen, I was active and toned. I thought I was fat, but what teenage girl doesn't? The first time I got married I was 19, active, and in college. I had already put on the freshman 15, but comfortable and married suddenly added to that! Before I knew it, my weight had gone from 145 to 175 in no time flat! Then, as the years went on, so did the pounds. It seemed like whatever my age was, is what my pant size was. I leveled off around 220. After 8 years of marriage, I suddenly lost my husband to a heart attack. He was only 34, and I was a 27 year old widow. I didn't do much eating or anything else for a while and dropped down to right at 200. A couple of years went by and I went through a bad relationship and was back at 220 before I knew it. But I was ok, I thought. Then I met a man that would change my life again. He was a heavy guy, nothing like anyone I'd ever been with before. He was funny and outspoken and NOTHING seemed to bother him. He made me feel very comfortable in my skin. We were comfortable together. The love that bloomed was from the inside out. We became good friends, then best friends, then couldn't imagine our lives without each other. We got married and eventually tried to start a family, but were told there was just no chance because we were both larger people. We figured if God wanted to give us a baby, He would. Well, no babies, and by this point, I'm quite okay with that. I'm past baby fever. If we get a surprise later down the road, we'll embrace it with everything we have, but we are certainly not planning or trying to get pregnant. We have, however, decided to make some major changes in our lives and are currently saving pennies and dimes to have RNY together. Our insurance will only pay for Lap-Band, and that's just not what we want, so...that's where we are and pretty much my story up to now.
