  1. I totally agree with Parisshel. I did the WW program several years ago and I lost 73 pounds. I was excited and very happy. However, my family moved and I got a new job so my support system of fellow ww was gone. I tried to keep it up but as with a new job and move happens, the stress comes on and I got tired of counting the calories and points and gained the weight I lost plus gained more. However with the LB, I can still eat whatever I want and not worry about counting calories and doing gobs amounts of exercise if I go over. It is one of the best things that have happened to me. Good luck with your decision making.
  2. Another person who loves corn and has no problem eating it but don't because of the carbs. I finally had a tablespoonful of cream corned a few days ago. It was really good.
  3. Yes ma'am. Keep walking and taking Gas X. It will subside soon. Take care and take it easy.
  4. Hi and welcome. Prayer said for you. If you just take your time when you have nothing else to do but read, go to the pre-op, post-op and other sections of this board to hopefully get some of your questions read. If after reading many of the thousands of posts and you still have questions, post a way and somebody will respond. Congratulations on making steps to the new you.
  5. Yep, ditto what Gowalking said.
  6. I was going to suggest the same things. Liquids for 24 hours. That's what I did today after having a stuck moment yesterday. Yeah, I didn't chew my chicken good enough. It happens.
  7. Awesome! Keep going.
  8. You are very welcome.
  9. Well it's just me and my two daughters they have no desire regarding this site or any other website I get on. LOL This is my get away place to learn and help others as well on their journey. I have learned so much on here and I have to admit, I'M ADDICTED!!!!! hahahaha!!!!!
  10. Sorry to hear that. Hope the band works for you as well this time around. Have you seen an ear, nose, and throat specialist to get those allergies under control? I think that would greatly help. Good luck.
  11. What an inspiration. Congrats on your sleeve and the fact that it's working for you.
  12. Well for me let's see. I had already had some testing done in March 2010 because I wasn't feeling well. That's when I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. Was only given medicine to help. I wanna say some time in either late October to early November I attended a weight loss seminar must have been November because I remember like two weeks later November 23 the day before Thanksgiving, they scheduled me to come in to do my pre-op measurements and give me a diet to follow. I didn't have to do all that psych eval stuff that others had to do. I could have scheduled my surgery sooner than I did but because I'm an educator I like to take advantage of the days we are off so I scheduled my surgery for the week before Christmas. However, my father became very ill in August of 2010 and died Nov. 11 so I guess with all that stress plus I was going to school finishing my doctorate, that hernia became worse to the point I could barely do the diet so I ended up having the surgery on Friday, December 17 which was the last day of school for Christmas break. So I had the whole two weeks to recover before going back to work. I'm glad I did that because I didn't have any problems in the New Year. Insurance does have a lot to do with how things go.
  13. Hi there. I was exactly where you are but guess what? We are only supposed to lose 2 to 8 pounds per month (4 weeks) and the fact that you have lost 6 is right where you are supposed to be. More than likely depending on how you feel, your doctor may or may not give you a fill. You can't let what other posters post scare you. Keep following your instructions and you will be fine. You are already on your way. Keep going and good luck.
  14. Thanks for that info.
  15. What an awesome testimony. Thanks for sharing and congratulations to both of you.
  16. Woot! Woot! That is great. You look marvelous. Congratulations.
  17. That's usually how mine looks. I never thought about videoing it. Thanks for sharing. I may do that next month when I go.
  18. Wow! That's interesting. I didn't know that our bands worked differently in different altitudes. Hmmmm...... thanks for posting the question. I will certainly keep this in mind for when I travel by air in the future.
  19. Hi Shazia, I'm just wondering how you are doing sweetie?
  20. Good luck. I hope it works out for you.
  21. I was told by my doctor to wait four to six weeks. Like the other posters said, it does depend on your healing though.
  22. Sorry to hear that. If you don't mind sharing, what do you take biotin for? Is losing hair a side affect of the medication?
  23. Happy birthday and happy fill.
  24. I know we all encounter issues in life. You stated that you were banded two years ago. Is there any particular reason why you didn't do aftercare every month? I did see you say you have a low income, well guess what? So do I but I do have insurance and as someone already stated, they usually cover monthly appointments by paying a copay. But besides all that, you are now getting filled and that is what is important because it helps with portion sizes. Make sure you continue to read this board and not just this post as these same questions have been answered time and again. Don't feel discouraged you will start losing soon. Have patience and good luck.
