  1. Well when I get to goal I may need some restoration!! I don't really want them to be at my belly button...long and skinny versus nice and perky? hmmm! LOL
  2. I just started this! I tried to do it at the indoor track where I walk and quickly found that my knee is not up to the task (old injury)...at least not at this weight. I hope that when I reach my goal weight I will be able to run. BUT... I did decide to try it on my elliptical and it is SOOOO great. I am only on day 2 but I love that I can push myself to run during the run intervals. I sweat like a total pig...its awesome!
  3. I am sooooo excited!!! 50 pounds ago I could not find a comfortable bra. I had basically given up and only wore one when I absolutely had to because they were so miserable. I squeeeeezed into a 44DD because it was so hard to find a 46DD. Well about 5-6 weeks ago I was able to buy 40DD and they were SOOOOO comfortable. I had to wear them on the loosest notch but they felt great! ALL DAY EVEN!! Over the last couple weeks I had to switch to the tightest notch and now that I have lost even more weight I can no longer wear these 40DDs that I just bought!! I am super comfy in a 38DD!!! I AM ELATED!!! Hooray for happy, comfy boobs!!!
  4. Ellipticals ass!!! Please share in my excitement!! Last time I used my elliptical 5 months ago I could not even do 3 minutes at 2.5 MPH. I have not gotten on it in so long because I was afraid of it. Lol I started walking 6-7 nights a week (I'm in my 3rd or 4th week) and tonight I didn't feel like I got enough time in walking at the track so I decided to give my elliptical a whirl. I was so happy! I was able to go 4.5 mph for 12 straight minutes and only stopped because I had to get my kids in bed! It felt AMAZING!! I am so pumped and can't wait to get back on it!!!
  5. I can't stand missing a day of walking! My husband believes your body needs a day of rest. I don't thinks so...it's had YEARS of rest! It's not like I'm body building or doing intense exercise ... I just want to be active. Everyday! So I went for a walk ... In my flip flops so I could tell him it didn't count as exercise! Lol just did a mile and half in the neighborhood. (25 minute stroll) It was beautiful out and I feel great for doing it!
  6. I definitely haven't hit a plateau. The walking is definitely increasing the progress and I feel GREAT!! I don't want to take a day off from walking. I love it and totally look forward to going! I actually read Chris's book and I am doing the carb cycling but I am not doing his work out regimen right now. I tried it for a day and my back was killing me from laying on the floor doing the crunches and my knee was killing me from squats. I like the intensity variations he talks about and was planning to start the couch 2 5k plan but quickly found that my knee ( I had surgery on my right knee) was not up for the task. I am hoping that as more weight comes off I am able to run. But for now walking is working like a charm. I am walking at about 4.5 miles per hour maybe faster. I have been using endomondo to track but I dont think the GPS works properly indoors on the track I use. I need to find a better tracking system... I lose count going around the track. LOL Thanks for the kind words...I am super excited with my progress and am getting close to "Onederland"! I can't wait! You are doing great too! Excited to see how the summer treats you!!
  7. I enjoyed this article! Thank you for sharing. I have been doing the "power walking" and I actually own a very high quality elliptical trainer but I have only used it a handful of times in the 16 months I've owned it. Maybe after reading this article I will give it another go!
  8. I have heard sooo many differing opinions on how often you should exercise. My current exercise consists of walking. Granted I walk as fast as I can for at least 35-45 minutes and I pour sweat, I am just walking. Do we really need a day of total rest? I can't see how walking for 45 minutes can be bad for me on that 7th day. What's your opinion?
  9. I have lost 50 pounds and unless I look at a side by side before and after pic I dont see that much of a difference. I can tell in my face and hands and i have gone down 2 sizes but the pictures are what reassures me. It's really quite amazing. If you haven't put a before and after pic together, do it. It's not too late. Even if you dont have an old pic take one today and look at it next to a pic a month from now.
  10. About 3 hours. I'm in a town just south if Springfield
  11. I use Isopure Dutch chocolate low carb or vanilla no carb. I look forward to both!
  12. That made me smile!!! These are the things that people who are not in our shoes would never understand. I totally get it and I'm smiling HUGE for you!!! So fun!! Keep up the good work!! I have had a couple strange NSV's lately too...the necklace I wear every day hangs into my cleavage now....LOL guess Im losing weight in my neck! And this one was really weird when I noticed it...when I wash my face now I can feel my cheek bones and jaw line. It was an awesome realization when it happened! Keep sharing your Silly NSV's! They are motivational and fun to hear!!
  13. Walking outdoors here in MO can be brutal too! I am soooooo fortunate that we have a REALLY nice community center with an indoor track and they have childcare. So rain, humidity, heat..whatever the weather I have NO excuse! I'm sooo happy with it!
  14. I love swimming too but I dread the bathing suit. Hoping to be over that hurdle before summer is over.
  15. Congrats!!! I can't wait to be in Onederland!! 35 more pounds to go!! These kinds of posts motivate me to get up and move! Can't wait to be off work and go for my walk!
  16. Pretty sure head hunger never goes away. I have going that if I cut out junky carbs my cravings do go away but as soon as I eat junk they come back with a vengeance! High protein really helps keep u satisfied for a long time.
  17. I maked an iced coffee protein shake every morning. 8 to 12 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 scoop of Isopure Chocolate protein powder, 2 tsp of folgers crystals, 1 packet of Stevia.... in my blender bottle I shake it up then fill with ice and shake a little more. WAAAAALAAAAH. I love it!
  18. I just started walking last week and I LOVE it! I hope to start doing 5k races someday.
  19. I needed something to keep me from binge eating. I can diet with the best of them but at some point my emotions would get the best of me and I would eat way too much. I've always had trouble with portion control. I chose lap band because it was the least invasive, quick recovery time and its a tool to HELP me change my life. The band isn't going to do it for me and that gives me a huge sense of accomplishment. So far I am overjoyed with my choice! I make healthy choices and the band keeps me from bothering with a buffet no matter how stressed I get!
  20. I have NO problem eating. I can eat anything I want. My question is with only allowing yourself THREE half cup meals per day how are you supposed to get 1000 calories. ?? It is confusing when it seems like every doctor has a different plan but a band is a band so you would think the guidelines for eating would be the same across the board.
  21. I tried using some Greek yogurt. I did 1 tbs of lightmayo and 1.5 tbs of Greek mayo in 3 ounces of chicken for chicken salad...loved it! Thanks for the idea!!!
  22. I'm really excited for Saturday to get here! I started walking on Monday so I am hoping the scale is nice on weigh day. I am doing the turbo cycle (high carb followed by 2 low carb days)... The last 2 days were low carb and I feel like I did great! Looking forward to some healthy carbs tomorrow! Here's my stats for today: Calories: 1094 Fat: 49 Carbs: 37 Fiber: 18 Sugars: 9 Protein: 129 Cardio burn 294 cals (I did not subtract these from my food calories) Water: 80 ounces
  23. I just started walking yesterday. The community center where I live has an indoor walking track ...hooray for air conditioning. I ended up joining the fitness center too so I can start doing strength exercises too. I walked 2 miles in 29 minutes ....my first mile was much better than the second because I started getting a blister on my foot! I used endomondo too and it links it right to my fitness pal! Love it!
